For this price we were expecting a bit of luxury. The location is spectacular but the accommodation is very dated and basic. The food is ok but very expensive for what it is. Added to that drinks are expensive and we were advised not to drink the tap water - with only small bottles of water available to buy at inflated prices. It is the ideal place to relax as your options of things to do are limited by the limited boat transport away from the hotel but I would only consider to be a good deal for current standards if prices were halved all round and drinking water was available for free.

After travelling for a few weeks low budget through brazil and argentina we ended up here to
have some more luxery. We read it is a resort so expected a very nice place. But , ...if this is a resort, my toilet is a palace. Wrong choice. The place is very very dated. As if in 30 years nothing is done. Nothing wrong with that if the prices werent that exhorbitant high. 480 dollar for one night excl. The owner, who i think never spends a cent to keep the place in updated, must be a joker. The location is ok, the room is ok, pool is ok, but you are just isolated on a small piece of land. No possibility for walking or going elsewhere. All the mainbuildings are in bad shape, the food is expensive, and not that good. The beds are terrible, the people working here are not all nice. This is the worst place of all the ones we stayed at. Don't go here, we wanted to stay 3-4 nights but left in a hurry after 1. Stay away!!!

Lets start with the positives. The food was good and the waiter was great. The swimming pool was nice and the weather was great. Nice views as well from the hotel of the River Laura.

For the negatives. They state this is a 3 star hotel. This hotel does not have any star ratings officially, nor is it a hotel. Its an old guesthouse.

They stated there was many activities at the hotel, such as boat rides, tennis court, kayak, etc. The hotel has nothing, its a big lie. The only thing it has is a swimming pool.

Now to the worst part. The hotel rooms are old and disgusting. The beds are from 20 years ago and I got bitting alive by bed begs. My whole body is still itching several days later and I have bites and rashes all over my body. When I confronted them about the problem, they said it was not there fault, it was a butteryfly that had biten me. I have 100s of bites all over my body and rashes which I discovered when I woke up in the morning, this was a lie on their behalf.

I am the owner of a tour operator and I am disgusted that someone in my own industry can treat guests in this way. All they care about is the money. This was the one year anniversary of me and my girlfriend and what should of been a nice weekend became a disaster weekend. The worst part of everything is as market price are in Argentina, this was an expensive hotel. The price would suggest its a flashy place, but please don't believe it.

Response from Marcelo V, Gerente at Rio Laura Delta Lodge
Responded Feb 1, 2014
