The hotel is situated on short walking distance of the center of Tigre. It's a very nice looking old house which has a spacious and nice garden. We were welcomed by a very friendly staff member (Gonzalo, definitely the most friendly and hospitable one of the staff..)
Our bedroom (Paraná) did not have en-suite bathroom and was small but comfortable with cute fresh flowers. It was a bit noisy because of the wooden floors, but that's what you can expect in an old house I guess. Unfortunately the coverlet was far from clean with several black (pubic)hairs on it and yellow spots.. No thanks...
The first afternoon after arrival there was a small wedding ceremony in the garden. We were warned that there would be some extra people around the hotel, but that's all. Unfortunately we were forced to stay in our room with the windows closed to not hear the awful loud music.
We had diner at the hotel which was of average quality/taste. Breakfast is served outside on the nice gallery and is more than what you normally get in Argentina with fresh orange juice, cakes, medialunas and fruits.
The pool is nice but, as mentioned before by other travelers, the towels really need to be replaced. There are only a few stretchers, not enough for all guests. Jacuzzi was only filled with 5cm of water so could not be used.
In conclusion the hotel and service did not meet our expectations we had after visiting the website. You won't find everything you see there. Overall it was a nice stay, but we will not go back again.

We as a family stayed in La Sonada for a week in December 2013. We had a wonderful stay with the freedom of home given generously to us. We also had this beautiful little pace almost totally to ourselves.
Do not expect opulence ...the hotel is old and quaint both in design and interior decoration but after settling in we enjoyed our stay immensely. Rooms were comfortable, breakfast was lovely, swimming pool wonderful and tree lined garden very welcome in the heat of summer. The staff were so nice and so very helpful. All bedrooms had air conditioning which kept us alive during an incredible heatwaves. The only draw back was no air conditioning in the reception area.
A 20minute wald takes you into Tigre a lovely old town which is built round the river.

If we ever have the good fortune to visit Buenos Aires again we would certainly stay in La Sonada again.

We were really hoping for something special but didn't quite find it in La Sonada.

On arrival we were asked to wait initially for ten minutes for a member of staff who could check us in, but that became an hour and ten minutes in the end. But we were given coffee and cake whilst we waited. Not a great start.

On check in to the room, there was no guided tour of the room or facilities. Not that this is a make-or-break but worth pointing out as all other South American B&Bs we stayed at all took the time to point out the details. This left us trying to figure out a safe which transpired was broken and suss out a noisy air conditioner.

Room was acceptable, but just a bit grubby around the edges, as was the bathroom. No fridge in the room either.

Usual South American breakfast, but no eggs.

Desk staff nice enough, and helped us out organising what's best to do etc. There was an underlying feeling of staying in someone else's house though.

Response from Atitigre, Propietario at La Sonada
Responded Jul 13, 2013
As this passenger arrived 3 hours before check in time, we try to make his wait more pleasant offering him some homemade cake. We are deeply sorry if the room was not as spotless as we aim permanently, that is why we aprecciate opinions like this one, because it helps us to improve our service. Probably there was no guided tour through the room because of the time, that, as we said before, it was well ahead check in time, so willing to accomodate them as soon as possible, it must have been forgotten by our staff to show them details of the room, as remote controls, lights, etc. Regarding breakfast, as is not used to, we do not serve eggs as a normal service, but we do if someone ask for them. Thanks again for your opinion, it help us getting better,

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights whilst spending 2 months in Buenos Aires. We got the train from Retiro costing 6 pesos and then took a taxi to the hotel. At first we wondered where we were going as it seemed to be down a small lane, arriving at double gates to the entrance to the hotel.Once we entered through the small gate at the side we were overwhelmed by the beauty and tranquility of the place. It is only a small hotel but beautifully presented, very traditional, wooden beams, tiled floors and a lovely reception area where you can read. The garden is a lovely haven to relax with a small pool and jacuzzi although this was not working at the time of our stay. There is also a sauna in the garden which you need to give a little notice (about 30 minutes) to enable the staff to prepare it for you.The staff are very welcoming and you only need to ask if there is anything you require. The only thing I would say is that there is not a lot of choice for breakfast bread cheese and cakes which are lovely and homemade. All in all I would definitely recommend a stay here and would have no hesitation in returning. It was our little oasis away from the bustle of the of the city 😊.

The 3 generations of my family checked in here following a 3 night stay in a hotel in Recoleta, in the centre of Buenos Aires. We had 5 of the 7 rooms of the La Sonada b&b booked for the next 6 nights. It was perfect! It was great to get out of a city hotel into this relaxed, friendly and clean b&b. We were pretty much given the run of the place and were given help by the staff any time we needed it. Tigre is a lovely suburb on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, with a number of nice restaurants. La Sonada is a great place to stay here.

A lovely little green oasis at the heart of Tigre. We felt at home and relaxed throughout our stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the sunshine by the pool and even had time for an excellent 30 minute full-body massage (they went out of their way to make sure we could slot it in at a later time than what they usually cater for).

Acclimated in an old house owned by a traditional family in Tigre, this petit hotel is good alternative to spent a couple of days in Tigre. The price include bed and breakfast only for 70 bucks per day. The hotel is well located near by restaurant and Via Victorica.

characterful, friendly. The owners are descendants of
Argentina's first constitutional president and founder of the newspaper la nacional. small pool with shade. Nice garden.
comfortable room with lots of storage. Towels have seen better days - one was clearly recycled from a towelling robe (still had buttons and button holes) - and service was occasionally haphazard. Breakfast good with excellent coffee. Nice friendly atmosphere. an easy walk to restaurants and a good deli with takeaway empanadas etc. we enjoyed our stay.
