Such a little gem. We booked for 1 night and ended up staying for 4. The staff were incredible helpful in any matters to do with the hostel, and worked with us to call wineries and work out the public transport for our expeditions. Nico is a 5 star all rounder. We had a private room with bathroom. We made...

Room and shared bathrooms were okay. The courtyard area is nice, but the pool advertised is not a pool, more of a pond. Staff was helpful when asking about the area and things to do and breakfast included boiled eggs, fruit, and bread.

The dorm rooms were pretty good and kitchen facilities good also- outdoor courtyard lovely although pool in shade all day and very cold with no sun loungers. There was one very rude staff member but the rest were lovely! Decent location too.

Do not book here! Booking with this hotel turned out to be a HUGE mistake! After a 32hr journey to Mendoza, we turned up at the hotel, only to find that they had made a mistake and given our room away. This would have been forgivable (mistakes happen) if they had then handled the situation professionally and honourably. Not the...

Very charming hostel. Had the private double room, very spacious and clean. Need to fix a few things such as noisy aircon and fan. Very nice common areas and great backyard. Breakfast is limited as every hostel in Argentina, and does not add value...

We enjoyed our stay there. We had a small but nice double room wit AC and TV and our own bath room. They gave us towels and soap. The hostel is cleaned everyday. Breakfast was good and invluded fresh melon. The stuff was amazing. They helped us every time we asked them in a uncomplicated manner that we didnt experience...

Located close to the hub of Mendoza, the Alamo is a refreshing refuge. Friendly bilingual staff ready to help in all aspects, from trip planning to making reservations at another hostal if needed. Large market and ATMs within a couple blocks. Walking distance to the bus terminal.

We stayed here for a few nights in a shared mixed dorm. Really enjoyed our time, hostel staff were extremely helpful whenever we asked for information, required a taxi etc. Cute little outdoor area good for socialising. Only negative is that the rooms were extremely hot even with a fan and so made it slightly uncomfortable at times. But overall...

We arrived early and only found out our reservation was booked on the wrong month! Luckily we were there off peak season so getting a bed is not a problem and the receptionist was very kind to upgrade us to private room (by the courtyard) with no extra fees. We were also given access to the room although we were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Our Hostel...Bienvenidos! Hostel Alamo is among the most recent additions to Mendoza's hostel circuit. Once a family residence, we have renovated this beautiful and spacious home into a modern 14-bedroom hostel, while maintaining the integrity and charm of its original colonial style. The house was built in 1944 by the late architect Daniel Ramos Correa, who has made many significant architectural contributions to Mendoza, including participation in the city's main square, Plaza Independencia, and the Frank Romero Day Ampitheater, where the National Grape Harvest (Vendimia) Celebration is held annually. The lovely enclosed garden, terraces, fireplaces, and numerous windows throughout help to create the positive and cozy environment that is Hostel Alamo. Ideal Location...Hostel Alamo is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Mendoza, just a few blocks away from the main shopping and dining district. Literally just around the corner you’ll find one of the city’s newest and finest supermarkets, a bank, an internet and telephone cafe, a laundry facility, souvenir shops, kiosks, and a gas station, just to name a few.By car, we are merely 10 minutes from el Parque San Martín, 15 minutes from the bus terminal and 25 minutes from Mendoza’s Francisco Gabrielli Airport (better known as El Plumerillo). Our Mission...Hostel Alamo is owner-operated and together with our bilingual team, we strive to provide our guests with the highest standard of customer service with a personal touch. We make every effort to maintain a clean, comfortable, and relaxing atmosphere where our guests will always feel welcome and safe. Join us!...We hope you'll stay with us as you discover the natural wonders of Mendoza, Argentina and the rich culture of her people. Whether you wish to taste a typical Mendocinian Malbec during a tour of one of the city’s numerous bodegas, or spend the day in the mountains skiing or hiking, it would be our pleasure to arrange any excursion for you right here at Hostel Alamo.Or if you prefer, relax in our garden while you read a book and soak in some Argentinean sun, prepare an elaborate meal in our kitchen, or just stretch out on our sofa and enjoy a movie from our international DVD collection. However you plan to enjoy yourself in Mendoza, we hope you’ll allow Hostel Alamo to be your home away from home! ... more   less

“Having a private room with private bathroom is nice but since the entire place is cleaned daily I don't think it would be off putting to share a bathroom or dorm. It depends on the experience you would like. Dorms require a bit of socializing (lockers are available to store items while gone) shared bathrooms require patience with other guests. What do you value more: privacy or company? Either way your experience will be memorable.”
