Old hotel with a ton of potential if it were fixed up a bit. We loved the old school door keys, quaint rooms, a tiny elevators, but had no wifi in the room and the pools was quite dirty.

Don't get too excited about the hotel. It'll suit your needs if you curb your expectations, but really, it's just a step above a hostel. That being said, the attached restaurant is beautiful and the food is good. Also, the staff mostly speak limited English, but usually do a great job of trying to work out questions/request.

This hotel is a Santa Fe classic. It is cheaper than most hotels in Santa Fe and the location is great. It opened 70 years ago . . and it has never been updated! So you get all the grandeur of 1940 but without the conforts of modern life. The architecture is great and very well kept but, with the exception of beds (you do get a king size bed in rooms) not a single tile has been replaced. Again, understand, nothing is broken but the tiles, even the faucetts are from the 40s! The boiler resonates throughout the wholte property.

For: 1. great central location, 2. it's half the price of the Holiday Inn and Los Silos. 3, the place has history, former President Raul Alfonsín (no doubt other more shady types too) stayed there during the constitutional convention at the start of 90s. 4. the room was reasonably clean.

Against: 1. the hotel hasn't seen a lick of paint for decades or any other kind of maintenance either. The wood in the frame of our room's door was , quite literally, falling off in rotten pieces, 2. the wifi doesn't work, or at least it didn't in our room. the staff shrugged on being informed of this. 3. the breakfast is horrible, mean and scant. 4. if you're a light sleeper, be warned, there are odd gurgling sounds from the plumbing and the groan and shudder of some kind of heating/energy system in the building that will keep you awake.5. there is no secure storage in the rooms and the "hotel safe" doesn't work at the weekends so you leave your laptop in the room and hope for the best.

We were in Santa Fe for a conference and this was one of the hotels we could choose... It is very old (what is fine) and has not been renovated in a long time (what is less charming). Everything in the room looks woren out. It is ok clean but you always feel that these old stuff around you cannot be hygienic. The receptionist does not speak a word english, so practice your Spanish! Breakfast is ok the restaurant is not recommendable, go somewhere else. It seemed to me that Santa Fe in general is a bit behind the times. This hotel badly needs some fresh ideas.

The hotel has a good location for tourists or people who have business in the center of the city of Santa Fe. The services it offers are those necessary to spend a few days alone or with a group of friends and/or family. Although it is basic, the atmosphere is pleasant.

Our experience at the hotel was very satisfactory, the service we received was excellent. Although the hotel is basic in terms of its facilities, its location is really convenient, which made our trips around the city much easier. We would definitely stay here again on future trips.
Thank you for such a pleasant stay.
