We stayed here for 3 nights. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, we managed to make ourselves understood. The room was small and fairly basic, but the bed was big and comfortable. We had a tiny safe, an airconditioner and fridge. The bathroom had a bath and over bath shower. The Wifi worked well the room was clean. For a small establishment, a good buffet breakfast selection was provided. The decor in the public areas was quite quirky, but very comfortable. We had the feeling that they had made the best of a mid grade hotel. The location is good, just a 5 minute walk from shops, restaurants and the seafront. The hotel has a small gym.

the hotel is located at the end of the central, it is quiet and clean, very good stay if you want to be in Puerto Madryn. The people at the reception don't speak English so that is sometimes a problem.

Good location in town, friendly staff. Clean but basic amenities and breakfast. Main complaint was the temperature upstairs was so hot we had to have the aircon on full blast all night just to be able to sleep. It's winter at the moment.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in December 2012, and we upgraded ourselves to a superior room. The location of the hosteria is convenient, in downtown Puerto Madryn, though it is not a very exciting part of the town (not sure if the town has an exciting part at all!). As you enter, the lobby area looked quite nice and homely. But the hallway that leads to the rooms looked cold and dreary. The rooms (even the superior one) were rather basic, though they were clean and neat. The wifi was only available at the lobby area and not in the rooms. Breakfast was extremely basic and rather unappetizing to be honest. The (only) counter staff around in the evenings spoke only Spanish and we had such a hard time trying to get information from her as we are English speakers. Overall not one I would recommend.

Hosteria Las Maras is a small 7-room hotel in the centre of Puerto Madryn. It is not exactly the most exciting beautiful hotel in town. The hotelrooms and hallways are clean, but also not very cosy. So if you are just looking for a bed in a clean hotel, this place will do. If you are looking for that hotel what bursts with atmosphere, then look further. The breakfast is average, there is free internetaccess and you're right downtown Puerto Madryn, just a few blocks from the boardwalk at the beach. The staff is friendly, allthough their knowledge of any language besides Spanish is limited. This hotel is just plain and ordinary, the word average is just right to describe it.
