Truly unforgettable vacation at Ranquilco in early January 2017. Patagonia at its best - remote and beautiful. We shared our time with the wonderful folks who run and work at Ranquilco as well as some great fellow guests - with a special thank you to Naomi. From the moment we began the three-hour horse ride to the main house to...

We had wonderful week at the estancia the first week of January. It was better than we had dreamed - remote, beautiful, fascinating people and an explosion of sights and activities. The horse riding and fishing were both excellent. Truly world class....unique. TA and the team of staff have nailed a very special experience for more adventurous travellers, seeking something...

We had one of our best vacations ever at Ranquilco. The stunning scenery of the Patagonias, the remoteness of the place, the rustic authenticity of the lodgings, the horses, the always welcoming nature of TA and his family, the volunteers who all keep the place ticking, all made it a truly memorable experience. Patagonia is vast and stunning, and there...

This adventure will stay in our hearts for the rest of our lives and is something I wish for everyone to experience whom loves nature, horses and delicious food! My partner and I stayed at Ranquilco for six nights and we could have easily have stayed longer. The adventure begins with a two hour horseback ride with Thomas to the...

The overwhelmingly natural beauty of the surroundings along with the remoteness of the site enchanted me, but it was the warmth and humor of the hosts and team that won me over completely. There was so much to do and discover - puma tracks, condors, foxes, cara-caras - but with lots of lovely down-time to gaze at the landscape, watch...

Where to begin with a review on Ranquilco. There is just so much wonderfulness to write about, the magical nature of the place, the incredibly friendly knowledgable people working there from around the globe, the spectacular and breathtaking serenity of location and place, not to mention the most homemade and delicious food and wine to be eaten every day and...

My wife and I decided to try Ranquilco in part because of all the 5-star Tripadvisor reviews--not just 5-star, but changed my life, best trip ever kind of reviews. It absolutely lived up to the hype. It's about as remote as you can get, but still manages to be incredibly comfortable and even a little luxurious. The staff is fantastic,...

My girlfriend and I spent approximately 7 days at Ranquilco during April and had a brilliant time. The place is stunning and the best way to explore and experience it is on horse back during one of the pack-trips. Some highlights for us were the scale of the landscape, volcanoes in the distance, fishing for trout in pristine lakes then...

Tucked in a pocket in the mountains of northern Patagonia you'll find Ranquilco with it's striking landscapes, and intoxicating stars. Once there you'll find great people with whom to drink, eat meat roasted by the fire, and to dance in the moonlight. Let the Trocoman river speak your name. Make friends with a four legged beast. Adventure as you please....

The Estancia is located in the middle of nowhere, right in the northern Patagonian Andes. I was more than satisfied with the Pack Trip, the possibilities to ride everyday even if you are not out on the Trip, the location, oh and the food! It is amazing! They grow more or less everything in their own garden. The people were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Experience the real Patagonia… its landscape, animals and people. Estancia Ranquilco is a remote family-owned horse and cattle ranch nestled in the foothills of the Andes. It’s a vast expanse of land in Patagonia, stretching across leagues of high steppes, river valleys, grazing meadows, and jagged cliffs, into the very heart of the Argentine cordillera. Ranquilco’s western boundary is Chile – the high country - graced with lakes, waterfalls, condors, hot springs, and weeks of wandering. ... more   less
