Welcome to Hostel 41 Below. A New Zealander run hostel located in a quiet street in the heart of Bariloche, just 2 blocks from the center of town and the Nahuel Huapi Lake. Run by travellers, for travellers - we know it's the little things that make a difference : comfortable furniture to chill out on, a great music collection, DVDs, free Wi-Fi, thick comfy mattresses, fully equipped kitchen, storage lockers in every room, free tea and coffee.
PROS: This hostel is in an excellent location. Its clean and has good communal meals. They also have a good amount of local tours they help you with. CONS: There seemed to be a separation between the staff and guests. There seemed to be way too many staff and it didnt help that the reception was located in the common area. The worst experience was myself and two friends were in a four bed female dorm with a staff member who was completely mentally unstable. She slammed doors, death glared us, turned on the light in the middle of the night. Me and my friends all agreed we would have been scared had there not been a group of us. For future reference this is the girl with the pink hair. Probably a good hostel if you are staying awhile and can become part of the community. Otherwise it's pretty quiet. …

We had such a good time! The stuff is amazing- friendly and helpfull. There is a great vegan breakfest with home made bread and peanut butter and a delicious community dinner in a good price. The hostel is clean and the location is great - right on the bars and close to the main street and to a supermarket.

Hostel staff were very welcoming to us when we arrived late ( 11 pm) after a long overland journey from Chile. Room was good and the atmosphere of the hostel was friendly . Our mattress a bit soft and our room pretty noisy over the bars at street level but the fantastic communal dinner made up for all of this .

My husband and I️ opted for a private room here for three nights. The rate and location were great. The other ppl staying there were also overall really a sweet bunch. We were for sure the oldest there (37). Got great advice for hikes etc. our double bed was pretty uncomfortable. We had a window to the street which made for loud noises of drunk ppl in the later evening/early morning. Breakfast was porridge, bread and jam. Not that great, but I️ brought some cheese to keep in the fridge. The veg dinner was truly fantastic. For the price and location this is a solid option. No frills. Shared bathroom. They also failed to really keep the trash cans in the bathrooms cleaned out, which is a shame only because we were told to put ALL toilet paper into the trash cans which meant lots of poopy paper. …

Best hostel of argentina. Nice view at the lake. Great food. Friendly staff. In the middle of the town. Next to all kinds of restaurants and bars. The room was clean and spacious with big lockers. One thing that I didn't like was that they cleaned the room while I was still sleeping, it woke me up.
