This place quite frankly is the bees knees. Amazing location, close to brew pubs (literally two breweries across the street) a couple blocks from downtown and off the main main street so close to walking but limited on the noise. A great staff who goes above and beyond to not only make you feel welcome, but part of the family.

We spent 4 nights at this place and were honestly a little sad to leave. While the staff was only two weeks on the job, you felt that you were invited into there home. We arrived a little early and the room was already prepared for us. Nice start...

The view from our room was great. Overlooking the lake. Everything was super clean and tidy. Kitchen was not the biggest, but they had everything you needed to meal prep. Cooking oil, spices, salt and pepper etc.

Bathrooms were super clean. In fact I remember seeing the staff clean them at least 2x a day.

Wifi worked well and the main area where people congregated was nice. Again think of staying over at your cool Uncle's house for the weekend with all of your cousins...

Bariloche is an amazing city and Hostel 41 was a big part of that. From helping us out book excursions for the day (horse back riding, bike rentals, booking us a cab in the morning for the airport).

Breakfast was average but the coffee was actually quite good!

We strongly advise booking this place if you are looking for a place in town you will not be disappointed!

Kudos to the staff for making us feel "home"

Stayed one night there, very clean and good hostel. Friendly staff, good location, nice living room. Good breakfast inklusive. All you need (kitchen, PC) in a hostel and everything works. The "Beer and Chocolate" map from Bariloche is great :) A place to stay and feel well.

I stayed a few days longer than anticipated in Bariloche, mainly due to the amazingly homeliness in this hostel. Leo made us feel so at home, and was such a gentle and kind man who does an incredible job of running the place and keeping it clean, often by himself. He even makes fresh bread and jam for breakfasts, amazing. We wanted to hire bikes to cycle Circuito Chico but as it was over a national holiday and the normal rental place would be shut, he called around to arrange for alternative hires for us, even getting the guys to pick the bikes up from the hostel afterwards for us! He recommended some of the nicest places to get chocolate in town too.. and anytime he saw me with a guidebook he asked if he could help. The hostel communal area was cosy with sofas and beanbags, and despite being pretty small, was always full of people socialising. We had some awful rainy weather during my stay but I loved curling up with a book here to pass away the hours. Felt really safe too, with a code to get in the door. The bedrooms were pretty spacious, with big lockers and comfy beds, and the separate showerrooms and toilets were also very decent! It’s a great location, close to plenty of bars and places to eat, and also near to the bus links out to hiking spots, and the bus station. A lovely base in the lake district, and I’d love to visit again in the winter season to see how it changes for the ski season. One of my fave hostels for sure.

Saw the reviews of this place on Trip Advisor and Hostel bookers so I trusted it but I was totally disappointed with the attention of the racists, xenophobic and arrogant receptionists.

Miguel, the evening front desk man was shouting in a very rude and derogatory way to two English-Pakistani girls who just one hour ago signed up for a tour and then suddenly were canceling alleging health problems. This man got out of control and threatened the girls with a certain attitude which can't belong to a front desk man that is interacting with female clients.

He clearly was angry because he was loosing his commission out of the tour he was selling. The girls were panicking and I rose my voice against this coward attitude performed by a male recepcionist talking to two female clients. I said this isn't the way to respond to two clients -specially girls- after a tour cancellation, and that it was disturbing to the rest of hotel guests to see his horrible way to scream to the ladies, suddenly he says that this isn't my business and right away he shouts to me "go to hell".

The ladies said thank you to me and he never apologized. He said "in Argentina not any tourist can do whatever they want".

The next morning I reported the incident to the morning front desk agent Veronica in order to get in contact with the hotel owner but she says she can t give me any info about him, then she says that I'm a problematic guest and that I see everything in a negative way. Right away she told me I can't stay another night in the place because it was fully booked for that night, --of course that was a made up lie- and she kicks me out of the hostel, as well as she did with the English-Pakistani girls who were five as a total.

Clearly this is a xenophobic attitude from this "white" argentinian front desk agents who were covering up each other's bad behavior.

I just left and move to a much better hostel, the Tango Inn at Salta street.

The bathrooms were never clean, the dorms were too small and they were crowded. The kitchen is terribly small. The heating was ok. The hostel location is good but for the price and service that you get this place isn't worth it's price.

I submitted a report to the local Tourism Office and I hope they do anything in terms to sort out this issue.

We stayed for 3 nights and absolutely loved this hostel! Leo was there to answer all of our questions and there's useful information posted up on the bulletin board. It's located on a quiet street just a block up from the main strip, bus stop (ask the staff if they have an extra bus card to borrow before buying your own), and shopping. Cheap laundry is next door. The breakfast is included and was a welcome treat. We stayed in a private double and it was one of the nicest we've seen on our travels so far.

A great hostel overall. Perfect location in Bariloche, close to everything a tourist needs. Leo was extremely helpful and knew about all the activities in the surrounding area. Plus his homemade bread for breakfast was delicious. The common area is welcoming and inviting and found it was very easy to meet people. Plus very comfy beds. Highly recommended.

I've been travelling for two months already and this hostel is so far the best that I have stayed at. The cosines of this place just makes you want to stay in,which made me feel a bit guilty as the outside world in Bariloche has so much to offer. Staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly: Stefan took us on a long day trip and shared some of his incredible stories and Leonardo showed me some cooking tips.
The kitchen is very well equipped and the place is clean. Breakfast is served individually around big table, it's easy to meet fellow travellers and it feels just like at home.
I will definitely recommend it!

Me and 3 friends stayed in this well-located Hostel during our snowboarding trip in Bariloche. The place is as welcoming as it gets, everyone is friendly and there is people from all around the globe sharing their great experiences and interacting all the time. We managed to cook our food, play guitar and sing with new friends, laugh a lot, eat their delicious breakfast when we got back from the clubs at 8, discover and explore the beautiful city. My many thanks to Leo, Stef and Anja who made our trip much more fun!

This is one of the best hotels that we have stayed in. The staff, especially Leo the manager, are really friendly, full of advice and want to make your stay in 41 Below and Bariloche as amazing as possible. There are homemade jams and yoghurt at breakfast which were all really great. The kitchen is a good size and well equiped. The rooms are cleaned daily and properly. The atmosphere is great and the social area is a good size. All round a great place to stay.

When I came to Bariloche I roughly planned a week. In the end I almost settled down (if travelling was not about moving on at a certain point...), which of course also was the fault of the 41 Below. I felt so much at home that I grew roots and stayed almost for 3 weeks. The staff was great and helpful, every advice they gave was brilliant, true and good and worth going/hiking/experiencing/seeing/checking out! First of all, it is very central and everything is in walking distance. Then, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, very dedicated to make your stay worthwhile. The living room is spacious, light, comfortable and offers a selection of books. The kitchen is well equipped wiht enough space to store personal food.
Rooms are clean and have lockers, bathrooms and showers were always clean, no matter, how may people were staying. Breakfast was a highlight: homemade bread, jam and yogurt, croissants, cereals, tea. I was lucky enough to experience special dinners the staff prepared for the guests at some occasion, trout in my case. Delicious food, wine and beer included, and for a very good price. I would (hopefully will) definately stay there again!
