Don't let the outdated website confuse you! Alto Verde is a lovely hosteria with modern amenities. It's a 10-15 minute walk from the main street in Calafate but it's very close to the Reserva Laguna Nimez. The room was clean and the breakfast was simple but tasty. The hostess is very friendly and helpful.

This is a clean, friendly family-run B&B close to the center of town. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious although the decor is quite outdated. The breakfast, although with real coffee, is meagre with lowest value items such as plastic-wrapped mini muffins and sticky supermarket croissaints. Overpriced for what it offers, not sure if I would stay here again,...

A family run small B&B 5-10 minute walking to the center of town. Quiet location, very clean, good wifi connectivity, an OK basic breakfast.English speaking owners, very friendly and accommodating. I would stay there again.

This b&b is very clean, the rooms are spacious and the bathroom and shower is good. However I do think in hindsight it's very expensive for the area and what you get as there are closer places to town which have good rooms and are cheaper. Breakfast was a bit disappointing and could be more substantial for the price paid....

We stayed at Alto Verde for three nights visiting El Calafate. The place is nice and clean, staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast OK. Prices seems reasonable for this boomtown, but you only can pay cash... So if you stay for a couple of nights, I surely can recommend the place!

The b&b is a bit far away from the bus terminal, it takes about 20 minutes by walk. Parking on the street is available. The hosts were very friendly and could help us with information and bus ticket reservation for perito moreno. They can also book other guided tours. The room was big as well as the comfortable bed. Bathroom...

Perfect place to stay! Low Key but very safe neighborhood, 4 blocks from center and lake walk. Clean rooms/lining/towels/floors. No noise, left several valuables in the room for three days, intact! Refri and microwave in room, was impressed by their breakfast,no buffet, but plenty to eat and NOT boring, varies per day, excellent coffee, feed four people. Highly recommended if within budget...

We stayed at Hosteria Alto Verde for three nights and they were great. They helped us with reservations when language was a barrier. They arranged for our laundry to get done. The breakfast was delicious and they remembered our order after one day. The room was basic, but clean and quiet. I loved the pitched ceilings with the exposed wood....

Very friendly staff, they even let us change our stay so we could spend two nights in El Chaltén instead. Also they have lots of good recommendations for tours and recommended the best tour we ever had (if you like hiking and nature): Aventura with Glaciar Sur. Not the nicest rooms, but ok, clean, with good showers for a reasonable...

Stayed here for one night after finishing a 6 day trek & 2 1/2 hr bus ride from El Chalten. We had called the hotel to let them know we were going to be arriving late in the evening & they kindly accepted. Staff was very friendly & helpful with places to go to around the area. Rooms were very...
