This is one of the most extraordinary places we have ever been in our lives. It is in a . very remote place (4 hour drive, very bumpy dirt track, we heard of people which had two flat tires etc). Do not drive yourself. But anyway: we enjoyed such very special views, and very friendly and helpful staff. We did...

We stayed at Helsingfors for 5 days at the beginning of our trip. We couldn't have found a better location to get away from it all, it is very remote! We did all the excursions on offer but were really looking for riding. Our favourite trip was a 9hr ride into the hills just us and our guide, the views...

Coming onto the property of Helsingfors it was love at first sight! This is where I could live I thought! The staff greeted us like old time friends! The rooms were on the small side, but good, besides we spent most of our times outside embracing the beauty that surrounded us! The lobby was so welcoming and we visited with our...

From the food to the setting, this is one of my favorite places on earth. They even let me play with the border collies. Our group hiked, rode horseback and dined on fabulous meals. I loved the fireplace in the lobby

Overall our experience was excellent. The rooms were underwhelming but the lounge and restaurant area were fantastic. The food and service experience was excellent. The staff always helpful. The barman maitre de and waiter combined (sorry forgot his name by now) was very good, always ready to help and an upbeat person. The meals were first class and the wine...

Beautiful rooms with plenty of space to relax in. A great lobby area with a fireplace going all the time. Wonderful staff & delicious food cooked with fresh food from the garden. Amazing views if you're willing to make the trip go up to the Blue Lagoon!

My husband & I stayed for 6 nights - we should have stayed longer! - and thoroughly enjoyed every facet of the Helsingfors experience. The serenity of the place is magical and soul-cleansing but the heart & soul of Helsingfors is its staff. Every single one of the staff could not have been more attentive and made sure our stay...

We stayed for two nights and had a fabulous time. We did the trek to the windy point and the full day of horseback riding to the blue lagoon. This was the highlight of our stay. The guides, Christian and Gonzalo are fabulous and very patient. The food was to die for and we enjoyed sitting in front of the...

This hosteria has only 9 rooms and is great for the trekiking type. They have 2 guides, 2 dining room staff, one receptionist, a maid and wonderful chefs. There are only 3 things to do at Helsingfors- trek with their guide or solo, horseback ride with their guide and eat. There are no water sports (even though their web site...

What a magical 3 days we had here. First night we were the only guests and were treated fabulous well. Though the ambiance might have been different if the lodge had been booked out to a large group. Our first day we did the 24km hike to Laguna Del Moro which was superb. It was hard going and not for...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
During the early 20th century, a Finnish adventurer, Alfred Ranström, settled at the foot of the Andes Mountains, on the SW shores of Lago Viedma. As a memory of his fatherland, he named his estancia after his country's capital city: Helsingfors (Helsinki in Swedish). Here he lived with his wife, Marie Lisau and their children, lightening up this wonderful spot, never imagining that they would be the main characters in one of Patagonia's most touching stories. During the 60's, a traditional family from the province of Santa Cruz bought this beautiful land, and since 1995 they have been receiving visitors from all over the world who wish to discover Patagonia through a unique and exclusive experience such as we offer at Helsingfors. The lodge is surrounded by a majestic natural landscape, protected by lush woods which give way to a panoramic view of the lake, Mount Fitz Roy and the Andes Mountains. It has 9 rooms with a private bathroom, decorated and designed with an exquisite taste, combining colors and textures that blend in with the environment. ... more   less
