Hotel was very clean, the staff was very amazing - especially Cecilia, Carola and Susie. Cecilia and Carola went above and beyond to help us with directions and tour facts. Susie went above and beyond to get my girlfriend a table and brought it to our sofa so that she could eat her snack and drink her coffee.

We stayed 3 nights here, booked through a travel agency. The hotel is physically lovely. It is a bit far from town (2.5 km). There is a free shuttle but with limited hours and frequency so going in the evening to eat is a bit troublesome. Our room was very nice and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was good and available early for those leaving on tours. As in many Argentine hotels, the lounge/bar and restaurant have limited hours. Our one meal in the restaurant was not a success - we waited a long time for our food, possibly due to misunderstanding with our waitress on what we wanted. Overall it was quite fine.

I can’t say enough about how terrible this hotel was. The lobby looks nice but beyond that everything is awful. We arrived at ~830pm. Checked us in to the room (pics below) with broken and stained furniture, frayed upholstery, damaged walls, the worst bed I have ever seen and bedsheets they wouldn’t even use in a jail cell. Also, we were assigned a “lake view room” but check out the view below.
I asked the front desk for a better room and he said there were no other options. At 840pm my more persistent wife showed him pictures (below) and he immediately found Romeo other rooms available on the upper floors. The first wasn’t cleaned yet so he put us in the next available. It was an INCH better than the first room but we my wife and I conferred and we agreed to stay there for the three nights of our visit to El Calafate.
We then arrived at the lounge at ~9:08pm for our 9pm dinner reservation. There are about 10 tables in the room. We sat for 35 minutes while the waitress serviced and took food orders from every other table except ours. She was deliberately ignoring us and continued to do so after I went up to the bar to attempt to order.
At 940 pm, approximately one hour after we arrived, we left the hotel and checked into another location in the town. THAT hotel was amazing and you can find my review from the same date.
The front desk person tried to console us on the way out with a free meal and drinks and the waitress tried to take our order as we were leaving but we’d had enough. We had a 10 hour tour booked for 8am the next morning and all we wanted was a decent place to stay and a meal before we rested.
Couldn’t find that at the Rochester. I do not recommend this accommodation.

Rochester hotel is nice, but 3 km far from the city centre, they provide a free shuttle of you can walk if it is not too windy. Breakfast is ok, our room was supposed to face the lake, but it actually faced the garden, room was a bit too old-style and the bathroom a bit worn-out. They have a good massage service. Staff is quite nice and helpful

We stayed at this hotel during a family trip and it felt like a little oasis of peace and calm. The rooms are enormous and the hotel also has plenty of nice areas to sit, all with views on the lake. There is also a very good restaurant, which we ended up eating at each nice. The staff are extremely nice and helpful. We had an issue with one of our tours and they went above and beyond to help us resolve it. The only con is that the hotel is right on the edge of town. They do offer a free shuttle, although a taxi into the center is quite cheap. After visiting the center, however, I didn't really feel like I was missing out all that much.

This hotel has great bones and good layout but some of the furnishings are a bit tired and showing wear (thread barren). Staff on the other hand were friendly and helpful. Although it is on the outskirts of town, they did have a free shuttle however the first one ran at 12:15 and many of the stores in town closed from 1 to 4 pm. Great to get out to a place for dinner or to exchange money. Dinner at the hotel however was fabulous; great presentation, taste and service. Good views and nice and quiet.

Checking out on 25th August . We were shocked to see twin beds in our room. There are no doubles or queen duo available, is what they told us. The beds are so small that you keep thinking you are going to fall off of it! The restaurant and breakfast was nice. The check out girl was less than friendly. She kept charging us bills for another room and acted as if I’m lying to say I didn’t go to the bar. It would be nice if everyone at the desk spoke English for their international tourists! She turned kind of mean when I said I’m not fluent in Spanish 🤷🏻♀️
The view is amazing, but I assume that’s with most hotels in this area. Cash in pesos only, or credit cards. Your dollars will not go far in Calafate!

Dear Parisa, Thank you very much for leaving your comment and for visiting our hotel. I sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the room number. Your reservation was for a standard twin room with a view of the hill, and we offered you a twin deluxe room with a view of the lake free of charge. The dimensions of our beds are within standard specifications, and I’m very sorry that they were not comfortable for you. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms available, at the time of your check-in. On a positive note, we are glad that you enjoyed our breakfast and our restaurant. We accept all payment methods that are currently in use in our country. I regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. Best regards,

Great service and helpful staff! With all the pickups and excursions, the front desk was so helpful at making sure everyone got going in the morning! The bar area was great for lunch or an early dinner and had gluten free options. The breakfast was great with a variety of delicacies. Clean and spacious rooms with beautiful views. It’s out of town a ways but the hotel provides shuttle service.

Disappointing for a 4 star hotel,I'm actually quite surprised it is 4 stars. I would like to call out that the people who work there are lovely but the decor, "Hill view", hoovering at 8am, check out time of 10am and noise levels made for an unpleasant stay. I stayed in a 3 star hotel in Chile that was a much better standard. Not sure if it was just that I was given the worst room but I was surprised how much I didn't enjoy my stay. I'm quite easy going but this was hard to ignore.
