We had a great big room with a log fire. Management are smart enough put hot water bottles in your bed as it gets cold at night. We were kept awake all night as Mount Tungurahua was erupting and making a lot of noise. A highlight for me and I got up twice in the middle of the night to...

Enjoyed this hotel very much, there were antiques and eclectic arrays of furniture everywhere. Beautifully laid out and very nice staff. Our room was very large and included a spa tub and fireplace. The rooms and all the hotel were very clean. We also enjoyed dinner as part of our stay and it was very good. Recommend!

Lucky enough to stay here for a night whilst Tungurahua erupting - fab view of volcano from the back garden! Rooms are lovely with an open fire that is lit at night (plus hot water bottle in bed) - spacious & comfortable. Food was fine altho service a bit slow. They close up the lounge very early - we were...

Old Hacienda in a green valley near Banos/Patata, beautiful rooms, very cosy and clean, fireplace lit up on cold evenings, very good restaurant, limited simple menu but one of the best steaks/filets I had in Ecuador. Beautifully decorated lounge with huge fireplace. You can see the active volcano Tungarahua from the hacienda.

The Leito Hacienda is (for me anyway) everything a superb stopover should be! Set in a restored Hacienda the Leito offers a fantastic antidote to the usual "bland chain hotels" found elsewhere. My room was spotlessly clean had an open fireplace in the corner (which the staff light shortly before you head for bed!) Add to this excellent food in...

Hacienda is located not far away from Banos and offers peaceful rest and recreation. My room was of a good size with its own fireplace and and good size bathroom. I was surprised to find a hot water bottle in my bed even though it was not very cold outside. The premises were clean and well maintained.

Wow, who knew that old fashioned hot water bottles were the bomb? I am seriously thinking about getting some of these for at home. Anyway, our stay here was delightful. Friendly hotel staff lit the fire and left the hot water bottles in the bed. It was cold outside, very cold. I was very happy that I purchased that llama...

The Hacienda Leito is near Patate in the hills. It is in a lovely setting. Our room was large and comfortable with a open fire and hot water bottles - a welcome luxury. The food was good, typical Ecuadorian fare. There was a bar and a comfortable seating area.

As others have written, this should have been lovely and was not. The hacienda boasts a spa centre with pool and various facilities. None were available, and when we looked for an explanation the embarrassed staff said that it was under renovation. We subsequently heard that this is often the case. Our room was a reasonable size, but very cold,...
