We were a group of seven American international students traveling to Baños to visit La Casa del Árbol, El Rostro, and El Pailón (we also ended up jumping off the San Francisco bridge, which wasn't for the faint of heart). Transilvania has a very good location, and the rooms/private bathrooms were pretty clean, albeit shabby. It has decent WiFi as...

Hello and thank you for the review Our family is two adults and 2 kids (6 and 9 years old), i don´t think we can cramp the common area... The middle eastern restaurant is in the lobby it self, currently offering only breakfasts, did you even stay here? Entrance to the hostel is available 24 hours, we close the doors...

Great location. Comfy, spacious, private. Breakfast is included with choice of eggs (any style) or pancakes. Good coffee too! Shower was always hot. Beds were comfortable and a towel/ soap was provided.

At Hostal Transilvania you get what you pay for, simple as that. Rooms are small, showers are okay and hot. Breakfast is free and they have places to hang out and watch movies etc. Owner were friendly but the staff wasn't very helpful, especially when we were checking out. It's not super clean but not disgusting neither.

Couldn't decide on 3 or 4 stars. My friend and I each paid $8 per night for our room and got what we needed. Great breakfast included in your stay. Clean, easy to find. It can be noisy- we heard conversations and someone opening a bottle of shampoo showering in the next room. Only door knob locks, no deadbolt. The...

Hostal Transilvania was the worst hostel during our 7 weeks vacation. The private rooms are small, dark and neither very comfortable nor clean. Wifi doesnt work most of the time. They charged us more than double the normal price for the weekend.

what I hear from you is: I am pissed I was charged twice the normal rate, so i´ll leave a bad review. but the dates you stayed were national holiday, and all the hostels in Baños put the price up, sometimes 3 times or more of the normal rate.

I was here for 4 or 5 days last month, and I was reminiscing and I felt I had to write a review, the hostel itself is very central in the town, reasonably priced, what makes it, is the owners or people running it, they were so nice, really made you feel at home.

Cheap hostel with all the basic facilities. The breakfast is worth it. Friendly staff and big rooms with clean bathrooms and warm water. Wi-fi works. Not very close to the bus station but is very profitable to get there

The reason I give hostal transilvania 5/5 isn't because it's super luxurious. No I, it's because you get what you pay for. For 8 dollars per person for each night it's really great. What do you get for that price? A semi confortable bed, hot water (a luxury in Ecuador), WiFi and a great breakfast. But what makes me give...

We stayed in the lovely, hostal transilvania for a little less than a week. The front desk receptionist was very friendly, kind, and provided excellent assistance when looking for things to do around the town. The room we stayed in was private, during the week it was $20 a night, and during weekend went to $24 a night. The internet...

Prices went up on that weekend because it was a holiday.

Wauw!! The breakfast is amazing. You can choose between eggs, pancake or fruit salad. This hostal is small what makes it cosy. There is a nice outdoor sitting, whit also a tv lounge. Our room was a little moist when we arrived, but that was because the window of the room was left open all night. Also it is wise...
