Stayed as part of a Gate 1 tour. It was the worst hotel of all that we stayed in. The setting is wonderful, but the rest is not so good. We were told by our Tour Director that the manager was a wonderful, charismatic, person. I found him to be a jerk. The food was terrible. Dinner consisted of a...

This place is gorgeous. Its based on the side of the mountain opposite tungurahura volcano so you get amazing views of the volcano and the valley. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a fabulously hot and powerful shower. If you're eating there I'd recommend leaving room for some chocolate cake for dessert☺ the grounds are also really pretty to...

Absolutely loved our stay in this authentic old hacienda. Our room was in the main house, but apparently all the rooms were wonderful though different. The décor was exceptional with old ranch items as accessories yet all the modern amenities were available. The staff lit the fireplace in the room while we were at dinner and it was a nice...

I stayed for one night recently as part of a Gate 1 tour. After a delightful visit to the party town of Banos, we drove into the mountains (volcanoes) to Hacienda Manteles. I was fortunate enough to get a room in the main house which is so warm and cozy. Unfortunately I wasn't one of the ones with a wood...

A beautiful resort on a hillside overlooking terraced farms. The main house is decorated with lots of character and charm. We stayed in cabin which was nice. It would be even more special to stay in the main house. The food was superb. Also the owner made us feel at home.

As part of my Gate 1 tour package, this was our last stop on the tour before returning to Quito. After spending a day driving back up the mountains, we arrived in the afternoon. If your taste runs to dining and sleeping in the clouds - near the slope of slumbering Tungarahua Volcano - amid manicured blooming gardens - enclosed by walls hung with 25-century-old genuine artifacts - - - this is a "must visit!" And if your taste runs otherwise, visit it anyway. Excellent service. Excellent food. Sufficient feather beds to ward off...
