I stayed for one night recently as part of a Gate 1 tour. After a delightful visit to the party town of Banos, we drove into the mountains (volcanoes) to Hacienda Manteles. I was fortunate enough to get a room in the main house which is so warm and cozy. Unfortunately I wasn't one of the ones with a wood...

A beautiful resort on a hillside overlooking terraced farms. The main house is decorated with lots of character and charm. We stayed in cabin which was nice. It would be even more special to stay in the main house. The food was superb. Also the owner made us feel at home.

As part of my Gate 1 tour package, this was our last stop on the tour before returning to Quito. After spending a day driving back up the mountains, we arrived in the afternoon. Upon arrival I was amazed of the tranquil surround in the cloud forest and how cold it was. My room was quite small in comparison to...

If your taste runs to dining and sleeping in the clouds - near the slope of slumbering Tungarahua Volcano - amid manicured blooming gardens - enclosed by walls hung with 25-century-old genuine artifacts - - - this is a "must visit!" And if your taste runs otherwise, visit it anyway. Excellent service. Excellent food. Sufficient feather beds to ward off...

A beautiful hacienda and grounds. Fernando, the manager, personally took us on a guided tour of their gardens and orchard. He answered all our questions and was justifiably proud of the hacienda. The food was great. The rooms in the older building were comfortable although there was a problem with hot water that they immediately dealt with. To top it all...

Everything about this hacienda was amazing. The grounds are beautiful, with lots of trees and flowers and animals. The meals were great and it was very quiet and beautiful: just wanted I needed for a little city escape! It got chilly at night, but we had a heater that was provided and it did the trick. Also nice warm blankets...

Vey much enjoyed our one-night stay at this home located in the mountains west of Patate. Even though it was misty during our stay, the views into the steep valley were memorable. Although the rooms weren't spectacular, they had nice touches with carved headboards and antiques. The living room and dining room were beautiful and provided the impression of being...
