Casa Aida is a cosy retreat before and after climbing Imbabura or if you just need a place to rest on your travels. Delicious dinner and breakfast are provided also. A guide can be arranged for a day hike up the mountain and they will arrange a lift to the trailhead and throw in a lunch and a bottle of...

Casa Aida is quite a unique place due to the exceptional warmth, intelligence, and humor of the proprietor, Senora Aida. A rich history is available to anyone who takes the time to listen to the abundant and humorous stories surrounding the place. The hostel also offers an excellent starting point to explore the surrounding mountains, including Imbabura. Highly recommended.

My partner and I had the good fortune to stay here last year. Apart from being in a beautiful location with access to some amazing walks, Aida showed us the warmest hospitality, She has so many wonderful stories to tell, and her cooking is out of this world! Like visiting your favourite abuelita! Highly recommend this place.

Let me start by saying we didn't stay at Casa Aida but we regret it and hope to stay there in future. We stopped at Casa Aida on our way to hike the volcano as we were unsure of where to start. Although we were not guests there, Aida was so helpful! She suggested a guide - her grandson -...

They received us with warm soup, homemade bread and fantastic stories about the visitors. We had a blast, found what we were looking for.. The energy in the place is amazing and there are hot springs near by. Take your time and talk to Aida it's worth it.

Aida is a very nice old lady who goes out of her way to make you feel at home. For $18 dollars per person you can stay a night, and she'll make you breakfast (so good!) and dinner. For $2.50, she'll throw in lunch as well. Alternatively, a room only is $8 per person. The rooms on the second floor...

A very nice hostel with great pancakes for breakfast. Also dinner was very delicious with 3 courses. Aida herself is taking care of her guests personally and she speaks english. Aidas grandson jose offers guided tours to Imbambura for 25 $ per person (transport not included). The tour with him was very good, he knows a lot about flora and...

Aida is quite possibly the sweetest Ecuadorian woman I've ever met. She cooks every meal from scratch for you and welcomes you to help in the kitchen. The rooms are simple but comfortable. So are the beds. It's in a very quiet neighborhood. She speaks English fluently but is also a great person to practice your Spanish with. Her grandson...

Casa Aida was a friendly, quiet, and simple place to base out of to climb Imbabura. My friend and I camped in the yard for $4 apiece, and there was running water, bathroom, shower, and a kitchenette we could cook in. Also, Aida has a comida where she serves breakfast and dinner for $5. Other than Casa Aida, there is...

Read about this place in a walking guide book and thought we would give it a try, Aida the owner is lovely and very welcoming, she speaks good english and will always do her best to help you out. The room is basic but adequate and the rate of $18 pp includes a home made breakfast and dinner (she will...
