I had a wonderful experience at Joelans, amazing food, the vibe there was awesome and the place was just what I was looking for during my solo trip. If you are looking for luxury then this is not your place but if you'll have an amazing experience with them. The owner is so nice and polite. We were late for... More

We really enjoyed our time staying at Joelan beach fales. All of the staff are super friendly and will do anything to help you. The food was also great which was a pleasant surprise! The fales were comfortable with a simple bed and mosquito net (with a few holes but it wasn't a problem!) but overall clean and we slept... More

I've stayed here for extended amount of time a few times and it's one of my favorite places on earth. Sione, falesoa, rasta, Lenny, Ola and the rest of the crew are great. They go totally out of their way to hook up your stay. So many positives... Beach, sunrise, food, location.... Head to the market and buy a bunch... More

We visited over the christmas period! At first everything seemed wonderful as it is layed at a great location. The owner was nice and explained everything. But with time it got worse: DIRTY showers and toilets, mosquito nets with a million holes in it so mozzies could come in easily. The food was good at the beginning but got worse... More

We spent our first night at Savai'i here and our last one. Great place to stay. The owner is great and will sit and have a few beers with you, take you to his plantation and nothing is too much trouble. The staff there James, 20yrs and the cook...sorry forgot her name despite giving her lifts home in the rain... More

We were recommended to stay at Joelans when we were next door at lauiulas. Unfortunately at the time though, they had the samoan QLD rugby club staying there so there was no room. After travelling the island by scooter, we came back and stayed for 4 nights. Pro's; 1) The fale was big and god views. 2) The beach and... More

We went there in september and it was our first accomodation in Samoa. What a perfect beginnig, this familly is really friendly and welcoming ! We slept in beach fales, so just above the sea, and there was a mattress and a mosquito net. The food is also really good and what's more when you pay, you can have breakfast,... More

Falesoa is so lovely - she made us feel like family! The Fale's are named after her daughter Joelan who is really sweet. We got a good taste of Samoan hospitality! The food was amazing and lots of it. When we arrived and I enquired if their Prices (very cheap) included breakfast. Falesoa said of course and dinner - what... More

We arrived at about 5.30pm just when dinner had been served and asked if we could stay two nights-of course but first we must eat! The fales were comfortable and spacious, the scenery superb, the food was fantastic and plentiful (breakfast, lunch AND dinner included!), and the people wonderful. We met many people who had come for a few days... More

Our first biking day in Samoa and after getting the ferry across to Savaii we had a very pleasant 19km bike to get to Joelans early afternoon. A beautiful spot, fales were ideal for the one night stay and meals were substantial. easily could have stayed for a second night !

“The open fales are great and really allow the breeze to come through and make it very comfortable. There are shades that you can lower that are good at keeping the rain out and can provide shade when the sun comes up.”
