Detailed Reviews
I had a wonderful stay at the brand new AC Hotel. The parking was easy in the adjacent garage. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful! The location is within walking distance to ASU and other downtown destinations and the entry drive for check in was incredibly convenient. I took breakfast to go in my room which was easy. I felt secure with limited access elevators. I would recommend and stay again!

It's really fantastic when you find a hotel where you feel so welcomed as soon as you walk in the door. Hunter, at the front desk, just set the mood for a fantastic stay at this hotel for my daughter and I. He was so friendly and truly is what customer service is all about. We had a top floor room with a beautiful view of Phoenix. Being August in Arizona, the cold room A/C was great (you can set the temp how you like it). The beds were very comfy and the room was super clean and modern. I did not get her name, but the woman at the breakfast area was also very nice. (Breakfast is not included in the room fee - it is a convenient option available to purchase for $18.) After checkout, I had a little time to spare and Hunter was able to hold our luggage while I went to the Arizona Center (rather than have to leave it in the car in the parking garage). Very helpful. Parking is in the Arizona Center garage right next to the hotel. I paid $26 for parking upon check-in which allowed me to come and go from the garage as much as I needed for 24 hours. It was very easy to find parking spots. We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel!

Hello M31mh, Thank you so much for the thoughtful review and kind words! Antonio Catalan, founder of the AC brand, left us with five Mantras that we strive to showcase everyday. My favorite mantra is the one that I focus the most on professionally- "Superior Service is both Empathetic and Flexible" and it warms my heart that you noticed it. We hope to see you again, Hunter Marsh Assistant General Manager

This is a nice hotel in a great location. Still relatively new (I think about 2 years old), and it is located just north of Van Buren next to the Arizona Center. While the shops in the Arizona Center have mainly disappeared (at least the ones I used to like), this hotel took up a lawn that was there before. No parking assistance, so make sure you get a space up front to check in and then make room for others. The parking garage next door is the hotel parking with a printed pass that lets you in and out. Lobby was modern and the hallways were clean and modern, but nothing stuck out as interesting. Room was comfortable but not overly spacious. I think the AC brand is meant to be streamlined, modern, and reasonably priced. That it was. We were there for a concert at Chase Field and it was comfortable walking distance. Walls were a bit thin as we could hear someone ill upstairs pretty clearly. I would stay here again for an event in the area, but I cannot really say it is a destination hotel. It did exactly what we needed.

Required to book this hotel as part of a required "stay to play" soccer tournament with several other teams on property. Written tournament communications indicated that our breakfast time was 9am, and no hotel direction was given when we received our meal tickets. Arrived downstairs Saturday at 8:30am to find that breakfast was being taken away. The staff was rude and eventually indicated that breakfast was supposed to end at 8:30am. We could try to grab whatever was left, which was heavily over-cooked eggs and under-cooked potatoes that were very hard. I asked for a manager at the front desk to share my concern, and the executive chef was already there with him and immediately launched into a lecture that breakfast was contracted to end 8:30am. Within 1 minute, he changed this contracted time to 8am (on a Saturday!?) and claimed that they had spoken to our coordinators (which was not true) to let us know of the time. No accountability by anyone at the hotel and there was no interest beyond telling me "Bad, bad customer". I was further informed that I "should not write a negative review" because this was the fault of our tournament contract and not the hotel. After leaving the desk even more upset, extremely hungry, and with no time to go elsewhere for hot food before our game time, I was then followed by the chef back toward my group where he continued to lecture me on how we were somehow wrong and can't hold the hotel accountable. I then called the tournament travel organizers, who clarified that the contract states that breakfast must be provided but it's all at the hotel's discretion. The hotel management and staff showed no concern for my family as loyal Marriott customers and simply didn't see this as their problem or feel compelled to take any action to correct it. Several other families came in frustrated or angry after we left. I expect much better from Marriott. And I expect breakfast to be included at a reasonable time slot when traveling, especially when we've paid for it in our hotel package. It typically runs at every other hotel chain until 10am. 8am is ridiculous, especially on a Saturday. Go somewhere else if you want to be treated with respect and care. This hotel team did not.

First impression of this hotel was really good. Seems very new and the aesthetic is definitely stylish. The room was spacious and clean.
Although the hard product was excellent, unfortunately we encountered some problems with the food & beverage and billing. The hotel gave us vouchers to use towards breakfast, but unfortunately we were still somehow charged full price for the breakfast after checkout. The breakfast was a bit overpriced and took a long time to prepare, we were waiting for around 30 minutes for one egg dish.
The hotel also charged my card twice for the deposit, and I’m still waiting for it to be refunded. I really wanted to give this property a higher ranking, hopefully the issues we experienced are just temporary.

This is my first night of three and already I have been awakened from my sleep after not sleeping for 48 hours due to my early morning flight The staff called in the middle of the night (12:21) to make sure I was in the right room. Who wakes a person up out of their sleep period.
Then I was told I could have a water or tea to go back to sleep after I was unable to get back to sleep. I’m in town for a conference and not will be completely sleep deprived when I start my day in 8 hours. This is the worse customer service that I have ever experienced. I’m want to cry because I deserve sleep.
I am writing this shortly after the event because I am shocked that the person at the desk thought that a bottle of water (mind you there are water bottles in the room) would put me to sleep after not going to bed for 48 hours do you my flight times. He didn’t take the time to consider me as a customer or to ensure that I got rest prior to the business that I came to town for which I can guarantee, I will now only be partially present for. To inconvenience and not respect the main reason someone or at least I am at the hotel is to sleep and have a place to rest my head, it doesn’t make sense.

Please accept my sincere apology for this situation. I have reached out to the associate who called and woke you up and it was apparently due to two other guests traveling with the same last name and somehow confusion over who was actually in which room. I am not sure as to what caused the mix up other than it looks like at least one reservation opted for mobile check in but as the hotel was fully committed they needed to ensure which rooms were truly occupied. Again, I am very sorry for the inconvenience and disruption to your sleep. My understanding is that you were given the business card for the General Manager and will be speaking with him directly to sort this situation out. I trust the two of you will be able to resolve this issue to your satisfaction.

Because this is a new hotel, I will cut them a bit of slack. It is a good value. But, simply put - they either don't answer the phone or put you on hold for a long period of time. I experienced this before and during my stay. Now, they opened during the pandemic. I understand the challenges. I get that they're still ironing out the kinks. But, a guest's first contact with a hotel is often via the phone. If their staff doesn't know how to answer a phone professionally and practice etiquette throughout the call (by not placing someone on indefinite hold then disconnecting them or passing them off to someone else without introducing the call) they don't know the first thing about customer care. Also, they do not upsell their location or offer any tidbits to guests to make their stay enjoyable. I had no clue that their outdoor dining backed into an outdoor shopping mall...the same one I had visited, yet from another direction! The mall is still being developed, but at least there are things to do there like get your nails done and a see a movie. On a more positive note, the rooms are basic and clean. The price was good, so it didn't bother me that the parking structure is not attached and there is no valet. When it rains (like during our stay), be prepared to get wet. I will be staying here again in the future and will see if things change.

We arrived at AC hotel by Marriott Downtown Phoenix around 2:30 AM after a long plane delay. We were notified at check in that they did not have the type of room that we had booked and paid for in full (King with sleeper sofa city view) We we're instead given a double queen room with the promise that in the morning we would be put into the correct room. The next morning we made our elway down to the front desk. We were once again told that the room type we booked was not avalible for the duration of our stay. The front desk receptionist told us that she would have the manager give us a call in our room. We received the call about an hour later and once again told that they infact did not have the room type we booked and we were offered 1 night compensation for the inconvenience. The compensation we received was $146 and we payed over $200 per night. We went onto the website for the hotel the night that we checked in and they were still offering the room that we had originally booked. The A/C in our room was very loud (sounded like a squeeky belt) and we never received room service for the duration of our 3 night stay. The only thing I can say positive about this hotel is that the building and decor were nice and we were conveniently located near the ballpark.

Great location and hospitality. The manager made a point to recommend restaurants in the area all within a 10-15 minute walk. There is a donut shop within a 3 minutes walk (Bosa Donuts- also great, they gave me a free donut). The room was clean and comfortable. The parking garage next door was convenient- I preferred the ability to self park instead of dealing with valet. I ate breakfast in the restaurant twice and it was delicious. The espresso machine was broken the first day and working the second day. One thing that I was missing was hot water for tea available in the lobby 24 hours. I did not want to use the coffee machine in the room for this and did not want to ask the bar for hot water. I would stay here on my next business trip to Phoenix if the price stays lower than a majority of other downtown hotels.

The hotel is in a great location downtown and had pleasant live music at night. However, what made our experience unpleasant was the food quality and the customer service. We had breakfast in the hotel our first morning and the eggs and bacon were so cold that they were slimy. When the waitstaff asked how everything was, I told him that the food was cold. When my husband came down to eat later, they still had not resolved the issue. They just didn’t care. When I complained upon checkout, the front desk staff offered me Bonvoy points for my inconvenience. I’m still waiting to see those. The staff overall do not seem interested in a good guest experience.
