The Orange Tree Resort is celebrated for its friendly service and well-maintained grounds, which include a pool and spa tub that guests have enjoyed. The hotel's location is also a highlight, offering easy access to local attractions. Booked a timeshare exchange through Interval for a week in September. Weather was still pretty hot. The room was a one bedroom with a sofa bed, and limited kitchen (fridge, microwave, coffee maker). It is right on a golf course, which is convenient if you golf, and our balcony overlooked the golf course. The room was quiet and comfortable.

One problem I had was that the high bedroom windows looked out onto the courtyard, so even with the shades in the windows, the night lights of the courtyard still somewhat shone through so the room was never dark enough for me. Also the doors to the bedroom were "shutter" style doors. So light from the living room somewhat shone around the doors.

The resort is advertised as no smoking, but while on the patio, we definitely smelled smoke, We called the front desk and they said we would have to figure out where the smoke was coming from so they could know who to confront. We walked around the resort but since the patio below us was dark, couldn't see anything. Then another night, we again smelled smoke and saw the light of the cigarette in the unit below and to the left of us. We again called the front desk, so they would know who to deal with (which I believe they then did). Also, the resort advertises as "no pets", but we saw someone walking through the resort with a dog. No reason someone who wasn't staying at the resort would need to walk through the resort with a dog.

Even though the state is still dealing with covid, the only restaurant on site (by the pool) was closed, which was disappointing. Think they could have at least offered coffee/juice, and grab and go breakfast or something, as some other resorts/hotels are doing.

The biggest problem for me was the parking. The resort has several buildings in single file along the golf course. We were in building 6....and parking stops at building 3. To their credit, they have attendants with golf carts who will drive you (and your bags) to your room in far away buildings, and carry your bags up the stairs. Going back to your car, you can either walk, or call the front desk to request an attendant with a golf cart.

The resort is in a pretty good location though for restaurants and shopping. Maybe a five-ten minute drive to most.

This is an older but well kept resort located about 25 minutes north of the Phoenix airport. Clean spacious unit overlooking the golf course. The units lack in that they don’t have stoves and parking is less than convenient. As an alternative to a stove the resort will provide upon request an electric pan and other cooking options. The staff was mostly helpful if they weren’t too busy. For what we wanted to do the location was conducive for all our needs.

I got this resort as a timeshare exchange. I don't golf but it looked like a nice place to spend a week. When you spend a week in one place I tend to relax and hang out so I always ask for an upstairs room so I can have coffee on the deck or just hang out. Unfortunately I did not know that the balconies are shared with the unit next to you, meaning that if your on your deck so is your neighbor. I found this troubling. Also the way the windows work if you have the blinds open to the door to the deck your neighbors can look right in. Same thing with the window next to the really nice jacuzzi tub. It just irked me that the design was so bad. You should also know that the bedroom is across from the living room and the bathroom is down the hall. If your sharing the unit then there is a real lack of privacy. The bedding and amenities are top notch my only big deficiency is the onsite washers dryers. They only have two machines that were functioning for all these units.; Overall I used this as a base to sightsee but compared to most other timeshares I felt this was way substandard.

We made reservations more than a week prior to our arrival date. The date we were supposed to arrive, we had some travel delays and a change in itinerary and we weren’t sure we would make it into Scottsdale on that date (today, June 26, 2020). At noon I called and asked about the possibility of canceling one of our nights, knowing it was a long shot. The front desk let me know that they require a 2 night stay and cancellation 24 hours in advance. Bummer, but totally understand and we made some additional changes and headed out to Scottsdale.

When we were within 15 minutes of arriving at 6:00 pm the resort called us, told us they overbooked and were moving us to the Embassy Suites. The Embassy is a fine hotel but I had booked a 740 sq ft suite with a finished patio to relax on, which Embassy doesn’t offer. Had I wanted to stay at the Embassy, I would have booked there. Not only that, but had they should have accommodated our cancellation request if they couldn’t honor our reservation in the first place.

We requested to speak to a manager who informed us that so many employees were sick and went home early today that they couldn’t clean all their rooms. Luckily, they offered a refund instead of forcing us to stay at Embassy and we were able to book a much nicer room, last minute, at Scottsdale Camelback Resort.

When I called back to request that they refund us, that front desk employee told me they’d had such an influx of guests that they couldn’t accommodate our reservation.

So, either they overbooked or so many people are sick that they couldn’t work. Either way, not a place I ever want to chance staying at.

My review is a bit bias because the week we were there the resort was redoing the parking lots and the golf facility was closed for reseeding of the course. The golf facility is separately owned from the resort, so if you have an issue with either one you have to speak with an employee of the specific one. The resort employees can't address a golf course issue and vice versa.
So first I'll address the negatives:
The Fitness Center is part of the golf course and probably because the golf course was closed, the HVAC in the center was not operational. So we had to exercise in a room that stayed around 80; not so good for exercising and could not find any golf employee to address this.
The restaurant and bar are also part of the golf course, so they too were closed during our stay. The resort unit was reasonably nice, but had no desk space from which one could do anything on your computer. We had to use the dining table and it was a stretch to plug in a charger from there. The unit had no USB ports so if you don't have a 120V plug, you can't charge anything. The Wi-Fi is free, but it is frustratingly slow and you are limited to 4 devices per unit. And it occasionally just dropped out totally for short periods. The Cox cable TV also occasionally dropped some of the channels for periods. Why just some channels went out is a mystery.
Parking, although ample, is a long hike from buildings 6, 7 & 8. They do have golf carts and will transfer you back and forth but you have to request that and then wait for someone to get there. We just walked. All the units on the West side of the property are subject to some traffic noise from 56th St. which is a major North/South street. And only about 1/4th of the total units have any view, which is a nice view of the golf course. The other 3/4ths of the units have no view at all, even from the 2nd floor. There was no literature in the unit explaining the rules, activities, amenities, etc. This is the first Time Share where we did not have that.

Now some positive things:
The maintenance overall appeared good. We had no issues (except the Wi-Fi & TV) with anything not working. The pool is nice and there is a Jacuzzi. The pool water was pretty cold and most people there finally got used to it, but they all made comments about the temperature when first entering the pool. The units are fairly well equipped with a full size fridge, microwave, coffee maker & toaster. But there's no range or dishwasher. The bed was comfortable and the units seem well insulated for sound from each other. Only thing we heard, other than traffic, was a lead-footed resident that was on the 2nd floor above us for a few days.
The staff that we interacted with were very friendly and willing to answer questions or help with what they could, but as noted above, the division between resort & golf club staff was a bit frustrating.

Overall our stay was OK, but I doubt we will ever exchange to this property again.

The staff was hospitable and receptive to my requests HOWEVER... the main issue that was disturbing was that there was not a working IN-ROOM SAFE! If we needed to store our valuables we need to use the hotel safe. This was not doable since we had laptops to store. Golf course cafe had food for breakfast and lunch at 20% off for resort guests, very good breakfast burritos and hamburgers.

We loved our visit here. The staff was all very nice and helpful. If you needed anything they were very quick to take care of it. The resort is quiet and safe. The resort is spread out so depending which building your room is in, it may be a walk to the front desk if you need anything. The front office area wasn't well signed so had a little trouble finding it when we arrived. If there would have been a grocery store or even a convenience store closer than 1.5 miles, that would have made the stay perfect. Beds were very comfortable. Pool area is lovely. Everything is very clean. Will definitely go back.

We enjoyed our stay. This was a nice room, we had 2 double beds. Louver doors separate the bedroom from the living area, this did not provide much sound or light filtration. We were aware that there was no stove or oven when we booked, we did miss this afterall. The property had grills and you could check out an electric skillet if you wanted, RCI members are charged housekeeping fee even though those services weren't available. We were aware of this before booking as well.
Everything appeared clean and it was a nice property. The pool area was nice. Golf carts were available to take you places on the property if you called guest services. We did not utilize this but saw others that did. Laundry area is provided but not in guest rooms.
Overall this was a nice property and we would consider staying there again, especially because of the staff.

Literrally nothing to do but play golf and walk around the premise. Kids will be bored since nothing for kids. I was disappointed they refused to accommodate my gym reservation at 8am. They said because that's the time it gets cleaned. Its the smallest gym I have ever seen in my life about the size of a garage. I offered to clean myself because 8am was my only available time but they refused. What makes igt worse, no one even cleaned. I also lost my key with some cash in a small envelop in the gym and it was never returned. Lastly the parking layout is the worst I have ever seen. I dont know what they were thinking when they designed. Why make your guests walk 10-15min to their rooms? Fortunately, for us we had 2 motorozed scooters and used them to go back and forth from the car to our room. Had we not brought them we would have been miserable walking in 100 degree weather in Arizona. I really hope they make more parking spaces that closer to the units. Not family friendly place.

We stayed at Orange Tree for 5 nights in November. The resort is close to Walmart and restaurants, and easy to get to with own vehicle. Not sure about public transport to get around the area. The resort ground is well maintained,. Apartment is spacious and rather comfortable with lots of privacy. Kitchen equipped with blender and microwave, plates and cutlery are provided as well. There is communal bbq that guests can use, but unless reheating food, otherwise, the kitchen is not equipped for cooking.
Housekeeping would be provided when request, so after a couple night, supplies were running low and have to go to pick up at the front desk. Normally, patrons could call the front desk for delivery of supplies as well.
Parking close to the apartment is limited, however, a lot of parking are available at the main resort parking with a bit of walking to the apartments. Second floor is a walk up, not elevator available.
The resort is located next to a golf course, and very convenience for booking next day tee time.
