Hotel Valley Ho receives accolades for its unique retro-modern aesthetic and mid-century charm that offers a nostalgic nod to Palm Springs. Many guests appreciate the clean, spacious rooms with thoughtful amenities, although there are occasional mentions of wear. The staff's friendliness and professionalism contribute to an exceptional experience, with the multiple pools, spa, and dining options enhancing guests' stays. While the hotel's location near Old Town Scottsdale is a hit for walkability, opinions on value are mixed, with some concerns over unexpected charges despite the absence of resort fees.

This hotel is by far the best hotel we have done an event at! We were there for a team conference and they exceeded our expectations. The room coordinator organized each detail for all of our rooms during our stay, the front desk and bellhop staff was accommodating and super friendly. Allison C., our event coordinator went over the top with the food/decor for our event. Stephanie B. with ZuZu went over and above to make our event mixer organized and detailed with themed decorations. Pictured: daytime photo of the hotel and nighttime photo with the blue Christmas lights still up.

Let's talk hotel room! Each detail was on point. There were plenty of towels, various soaps to use, light and bright decor, two make up mirrors, bed was super comfy, and my all-time favorite...various lighting options. Super bright or dim and cozy. Pictured: cabana room with king bed.

ZuZu! Not sure where to start, but my oh my...such amazing food! Not pictured was a gluten free snickers bar. It was one of the most amazing desserts I forgot to take a picture. Pictured: burger with their amazing burger sauce (no bun) with a side salad, fresh shrimp, truffle fries, empanadas, "Working Lunch Bowl" with salmon, beef, edamame, jalapeno aioli, shaved radishes, and rice. Pictured: outside event photos on the ZuZu patio.

For me, it is in the details. Every detail (there were lots to keep track of) was taken care of. Each person you run into from the housecleaning staff to the maintenance workers, to the bellhop, to the front desk, to the waitress/waiters/bar tenders, would greet you with a smile on their face.
Wish this hotel was closer to where I live, because I would go and stay as often as I could! Thank you for your friendliness, your hospitality, and the care you gave us our entire stay.

This is my third day at this beautiful hotel. Conveniently located next to old town, Scottsdale, and within walking distance to the shops and dining options. They have a beautiful spa on site, and a pool with cabanas. The on site restaurant Zuzu’s, is lively and the menu is extensive. Room service is also very nice, with lots of options and they serve late night meals. They have a bar that is very fun, and busy during the evenings. You can also order to go items in the morning from the bar if you wish to have coffee to go or a pastry.

There is also a shop that sells sundries, wine, and souvenirs. Very interesting items, and a nice thing to have if you wanna grab a soft drink or a bottle of wine.

There is no resort fee, which is very nice, and they offer plenty of complimentary bottled water during your stay. I stayed on a ground level room with a patio, immaculate and beautiful! Lots of countertop space, and very good lighting. The bed is very comfortable, and the linens and towels are white and very high-quality. Their toiletries are fragrant and luxurious.

Upon arrival, you’re greeted warmly by the Valet staff and they are efficient and prompt with your vehicle whenever you need it. They are also very helpful with baggage service to your guest room. Everyone that I encountered is friendly and happy to help. While my stay was for business, it is definitely good for solo travel, couples, and getaways. It is very safe, and they have constant security throughout the property. I will definitely return, and I would give this hotel a 10 out of 10.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights just to get away, and it definitely exceeded my expectations! We were welcomed at check in by RJ, who was so kind and great to talk to. They upgraded us to the next level of room, which was awesome. We were slightly unsure about the soaking tub in the middle of the room, and the hotel is a little quirky overall with its retro style, but we warmed up to it quickly and loved our time there. The bed was heavenly, the bathroom was equally nice and I loved the scents of the bath products provided in the room. The main pool was lovely and loud when we arrived, but even though we had a room right next to that pool, it never disturbed our stay or our sleep. The OHasis pool was so lovely for relaxing and reading a book. The fitness center was great (including a Peloton bike that I could connect my AirPods to). And I think my favorite minor detail of the whole place was the plentiful cold water everywhere! Cucumber water and other infused water in the main lobby, but also plenty of water stations at the pools and the fitness center. We decided to eat out instead of at Zuzu just because we wanted to explore a bit, and we LOVED being walking distance from some great coffee shops and restaurants! Thank you to the whole team at Valley Ho. ❤️

We love the Valley Ho. It is our home away from home as we’ve made Flagstaff our full time home. We love that we can have our dog with us, love Zuzu restaurant, and love the location of Valley Ho. Most of all we love the amazing upbeat staff.

However, the bathroom in our last room (6111) was really not acceptable for the price we paid. The toilet made very loud noises for minutes after flushing it. The shower clogged up immediately and made it hard to shower before the basin would overflow. I understand the hotel is going through renovations, but a working bathroom is a basic necessity for a room at these prices.

You couldn't tell from the exterior, but the Valley Ho is a phenomenal hotel. The room was spotless, the lighting system advanced and upgraded, had great shower amenities, the bed & pillows were incredibly comfortable, the room size was fantastic and the staff bent over backwards to accommodate you. I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel really has an excellent vibe to it. The mid-century modern look of the rooms, lobby, and restaurant were one-of-a-kind. Everyone from the front-desk, to housekeeping staff really went out of their way to make sure that we were satisfied. This place is a gem in Scottsdale, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a hip, friendly place to stay.

The King patio room in wing 6 was spacious and we loved the Mod decor. The bed was comfortable, there was a table for working or eating on, two chairs, a coffee maker, a mini fridge and a safe. Opening the sliding glass door basically removes the wall and opens the entire outside to the room. The patio lounger was a delight to lay on while soaking up the sun. The huge bathtub and shower both had ample hot water and lots of water pressure. Great shower head! The whole place feels like a wonderful resort throwback to the 60s.
The only drawback was one minor glitch at the restaurant’s bar when one of the bartenders decided not to serve my just turned 21 LGBTQ niece and her girlfriend at the bar while we were waiting for them to join our table. He just ignored them after refusing to serve them. Rude.
But the rest of our experience at both the hotel and the restaurant/bar was fabulous.

I visited the Valley Ho for a friend's wedding and found it to be a dream location for a traveling dog owner. The hotel has a wonderful retro vibe while also feeling modern and fresh. Despite being dog-friendly, it remains exceptionally clean and welcoming. The staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and helpful!

As someone who usually streams TV and movies, I often dread staying in hotels because I end up stuck with cable. However, the Valley Ho provides Google Chromecast, allowing me to stream Netflix, which made my evenings much more relaxing. It's a small detail, but it really makes a difference!

Additionally, the rooms were fresh, and the rugs appeared new and clean. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!

We were a group of six Canadians travelling to Scottsdale for a relaxed bachelorette trip. We booked the Valley Ho because it was rated highly and felt like the vibe we were going for.

We wanted to book directly with the hotel, but found a cheaper price with expedia. We called the hotel and asked if they would match the rate, and they refused and told us to book directly with expedia. The next day (less than 24 hours later), they released a promotion that included free welcome drinks and a room upgrade if available. We were unable to cancel our expedia booking, so we missed out on the promo. We booked the second most expensive room, and when asked about an upgrade at check in were told they wouldnt upgrade the room. This was extra frustrating because when we reached out to their social media page, the response is that they always encourage guests to book directly through them.

The hotel itself was nice, staff were pleasant, and the vibe at the pool was great. We rented a cabana one day and the waitstaff were friendly and checked in often. The food and drinks were good. Our room was OK, but it looked much more run down than advertised. The shower and beds were excellent.

The main reason I am writing the review, is although we had an excellent trip, the billing practices of this hotel are very unorganized. One member of our party got charged twice for a $200+ bill, and had to get that reversed. We also had many other charges ($100s) that were unaccounted for, and were only told that one of them was for a phone charger taken from the mini bar. We did not take a phone charger from the mini bar and when we called, we were told this charge would be reversed and the manager would reach out to discuss the other mysterious charges. The phone charger charge was never reversed and we never heard back from the manager.

It was a good trip, slightly soured by a couple questionable booking/billing practices. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel with the following recommendations:

1) Book directly with the hotel and ask them to match any other advertised prices.
2) Watch your credit card charges closely and make sure there are no extra charges.
3) Opt for a basic room and ask for an upgrade at check-in.

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us. It looks like you had requested a specific percentage discount off of the Expedia rate, which we were not able to accommodate. We definitely encourage guests to book directly with us and have a rewards program that provides some perks for doing so. Room upgrades are available for a fee and are based on availability; we’re sorry that one wasn’t available for your stay. We are sorry for the delay in processing the refund for the phone charger; we have refunded on our end. The other charges were simply holds and were released upon check-out (this is a standard practice at hotels since guests have the ability to pay for restaurant, pool, and other charges via their room). We do apologize if someone from your group was double-billed for a charge, and for not communicating more clearly about billing. We appreciate the detailed feedback, thank you again.

Hotel Valley Ho is an iconic Scottsdale hotel originally built in 1956 show casing mid 20th century architecture designed by an acolyte of Frank Lloyd Wright. It has been refurbished to its original glory. Rooms are spacious and uniquely decorated. Staff were all attentive and friendly. The restaurant called Zu Zu is rated one of the best in the area with indoor and outdoor seating. Locals hang out here for happy hour. Grounds are immaculate. There is a valet service of about $21 day for parking. The valets are very helpful and fast. Never more than a couple of minutes waiting. They give out bottles of water without charge. My only suggestion would be that they put a mini refrigerator in the room on their next refurbish. We had an excellent stay and will definitely return.

We did not use either of the two pools. One was calm and quiet and the other had music to a beat. I would not exactly call it a party scene as it was a crowded holiday weekend with all ages but primarily younger.
