Unlike my previous, dismal stay at the Phoenix Marriott by the airport this was a pleasant stay in a very good hotel right in the middle of where you wanna be, downtown Scottsdale. Check in was a breeze and unlike the Marriott by the airport, when I checked in I was offered a choice of points or food voucher, not “told” that I was going to get points only. Then in the next transaction I was offered a food voucher for breakfast at the restaurant/café. All the rooms are suites and basically the same with a bedroom, very large bathroom broken into two rooms, and a living room with comfy furniture and a small fridge. The only short coming was the fact that there is room for a microwave in the cabinetry and that would’ve been topping on the cake.
The swimming pool is just the right size for a dip and in January the sun shows up just at 11 o’clock. The staff are all very gracious and friendly. I used my breakfast voucher, the one that I didn’t get at the Phoenix airport Marriott and received a huge southwest omelette stuffed with everything Southwest and some of the best hashbrowns I’ve ever had.
Covid restrictions were in place and probably 75% of the guests were aware of how to behave. As you know valet parking has been shut down worldwide, so the choice was to park in the hotel parking garage underground for $18 a night or park on the street which I was told was quite safe. So I gave that a try.

It is a short walk (1 block) to everything in Old Towne Scottsdale
I will now make it my go to Marriott anytime I’m in Phoenix

Having a 1 bedroom with 2 kids makes the room far more functional. The jack and Jill bathroom was also very helpful. Room was clean. Front desk people were nice. Room had view of mountains, which was nice. Had a hard time day 1 getting towels. Called twice for 3 sets of towels (I literally said was cloth, hand towel and dry towel) and was brought 3 dry towels. Then went down to get towels and was handed 3 hand towels. But after that point, no problems with towels. Nice pool and nice outdoor seating. And close to lots of eating and boutiques.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in the heart of old town scottsdale. It was expensive as this was peak time of the year. Rooms were nice, suites mini balconies. Staff was very accomodating. So close to the action, tons of places to eat and wonderful galaries just a few blocks away. The pool was nice and jacuzzi hot. We managed to get some sunshine on us every day which was great.
The only thing that bothered me was that there is no longer free coffee in the lobby and the they charged more than double the starbucks rate for their in house starbucks. There is free coffee in the room that was not too bad.
On Thursday nights they have all the galeries open until 9PM. So fun, watched great artists, listened to excellent country music, some line dancing outside and many galeries were giving free glasses of wine, some had some finger foods too. Each week there is a different theme, this week was western.

This hotel isn’t the quality I would expect as a Marriott hotel. The hotel decor and my room were old and worn. I stayed here during the week and there was some type of conference going on, which was clearly the hotel management’s priority. I had just completed a grueling conference in Scottsdale and was staying a couple nights in Old Town to rest up before flying back across the country. Unfortunately starting at 9pm there was a loud group in the courtyard my room was overlooking. I called the front desk at 9:30 and was told that the courtyard shuts down when the bar closed at 11:00pm. I turned my noise machine on high and tried to fall asleep but I could still hear loud talking and laughing. I called the desk again explaining that my stay at the hotel mattered just as much as the people’s in the courtyard and that it’s ridiculous that they were being so inconsiderate. I asked for a manager who eventually returned my call at 10:15. He reiterated that the courtyard closed “In a few minutes” at 11:00 and that he would ask the group to quiet down. There was no change. I decided that it was useless at this point to speak to the manager . This is particularly of note at this location since the building wraps around the courtyard and many rooms overlook it. There’s no reason for hotel patrons to be kept up until 11pm just for a group of bar patrons.

Why offer suites when the dressing area and closet are so tiny? Marriott ought to think seriously about getting rid of the bathtub and expanding the dressing area and shower. Also, put in bi-fold doors instead of the heavy cumbersome sliding doors on the closet. With two person's clothes, one person has to wait for the other to dress because of those doors. Also, management is obviously not checking the rooms carefully or housekeeping isn't reporting problems because our curtain was torn (see photo). Also, be warned that Marriott will charge you $30/day to park and also a resort fee, even though the swimming pool is closed and there's construction noise.

Stayed 4 nites at this wonderful hotel. It has a great location near lots of restaurants and entertainment. The closest CVS is half a mile away, closest grocery store is one mile and it is right next door to a bank One nice perk is that you can order up a golf cart service to drive you within 2 miles of the hotel to run an errand. The hotel will send it over for you....pretty convenient. Breakfast buffet is good and they have a really good exercise room. I wish they had a stability ball in there to stretch on. As a Titanium member I really appreciate getting an upgrade to a two double bedded suite. I didn't expect it but it was definitely appreciated. Thank you very much. Maybe the best thing about this hotel though is the service. They are nice as can be at this hotel. I particularly enjoyed Cassandra in the restaurant and Kiya at the front desk. Very kind and very social. They represent the Marriott ethos of quality service. Mr Marriott would feel good knowing that people like them work for his company.

This hotel is an 'all suites property' in the heart of Scottsdale. Underground parking is available at a fee. The location is perfect to explore Scottsdale on foot, almost all major sights are accessible within a 5 to 20 minutes walk. Rooms are a bit dated but the hotel is kept clean and everything was working just fine. Free laundry is available with washer and dryers at the property. Breakfast is available on the main floor, the restaurant offers both indoor- and outdoor seating. We did not have time to use the pool. The location is really the attraction of this property, it will need some upgrades to justify the room rates in the medium term.

I have stayed here several times and nothing has changed which is mostly good. Agree that the rooms need a refresh, nothing has changed in all the years I have been here but it is well kept and in excellent condition. The staff is great, super friendly and helpful, and many have been here for years. Skyler and Alvina were particularly helpful. Finally a Marriott that recognizes Platinum status and treats guests nicely. Also first Marriott in a long time with amazing food. Best breakfast buffet I have had at a Marriott. Everything is fresh and well seasoned, prepared with care, not the powdered egg mix that I have encountered at so many Marriotts. Quiet hotel, great location. Disappointed that the pool was closed for renovation but can't wait to see the improvements.

This hotel is perfectly located on the corner of 3rd Street and Scottsdale Road with shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Our room was spacious, well-maintained and clean. Love the floor plan with a huge bedroom and a living room, both with TVs. We were on the 5th floor overlooking Scottsdale Road, which was great because we would have missed the Parada Del Sol without spotting the dancing horses from our room.

We had several interactions with the front desk staff. Everyone was so courteous and willing to help us with whatever we needed.

We will be coming back soon so we can enjoy the patios and pools. (Too cold right now.)

We arrived early and were able to check in then, which was a plus. Location was also a plus. The bartender on duty was the very nice also
Hotel is shaped like a V, with some rooms facing the courtyard. Our room was
facing the court yard which the night we stayed was hosting an event in the outdoor court yard. The noise from the courtyard event last well past 12:30AM.
We had an early flight the next day and despite the still going on fell asleep at !2:50AM. This was the end of a seven day trip, having stayed at several Fairfields, and a Courtyard, all of which were a better experience than this hotel. Upon checkout, no one asked how our stay was,
