Detailed Reviews

Overall - the property has friendly staff and a nice pool, but walls are thin. We were upgraded to a poolside room (titanium elite) which is much nicer than a room facing the parking lot (the standard room).
We stayed for 2 nights. The first night our room was on the ground floor. The windows are not very well insulated so you can hear anyone talking outside. The toilet was clogged and we had to call someone to help unclog it. The next morning it was clogged again, so the front desk allowed us to move to a new room on the 2nd floor. This room was much better (less people talking right in front of your room) but there are no elevators.
The $25 per night destination fee is odd- it supposedly covers parking and is essentially a $25 per night credit towards the restaurant. The credit doesn’t roll over so you have to use it every day you’re there. The restaurant wasn’t bad - all charges automatically get 20% gratuity added. We got drinks at the bar the first night and the second day got breakfast. In the end, our bill didn’t include a destination fee so no “credit” was needed.
The platinum breakfast was a continental option (see photo) which we opted not to do.
We forgot something in the first room and I had remembered that same night. The hotel was great at contacting housekeeping and I retrieved the item the next morning.
Location is near a mall and also near old town.

chloes1, the team is glad you found our property friendly and enjoyed the pool at Hotel Adeline. It is noted that the poolside room upgrade was appreciated and your transition to a quieter room was smoother. Concerning the initial bathroom issue, it's good to know our colleagues assisted promptly. The unique aspects of the destination fee and dining experience are acknowledged, and the retrieval of your forgotten item was a success. The location's proximity to the mall and old town remains convenient. Your insights are valued, and the team looks forward to welcoming you again.

10/10- I loved everything about this hotel. Redone midcentury that has amazing staff, daily maid servie and a banger of a pool. The location was perfect for shopping, hiking and restuarants. Great touches such as fruit water in the lobby, replensihed water your room daily, in room coffee for those who need a coffee before venturing out. Did not end up eating but used my hotel credit on a couple of poolside drinks- they hit the spot. This is my go to for a mini trip to Phoenix.

I will like to start by saying that all the reviews that complain about the noise are overreacting. We stayed over the weekend, we were prepared with ear plugs after reading about the noise/partying and we had no need of any of that. We arrived on Friday, Uber downtown, party for a little bit we got back to the hotel around midnight and I was surprised to hear peace and quiet all around the hotel. Next morning, we woke up around 9am, by ourselves, the only noise we heard was the cleaning lady's cart being pushed by the hallway, not loud at all. Saturday the pool party started around noon and we did not left our room until 2pm. During that time even with the music blasting outside we had peace and quiet in our room, we could barely hear the party outside. We were surprised of how organized was the event, the amount of security and how well everything went. The party ended at 6pm. Music was off, everyone left and we went back to our room for more peace and quiet. So here is some suggestions, this is not an hotel for kids, probably ok during the week but not the weekends. We are in our 40s and we felt right at home, I don't know how old you need to be to stop enjoying some fun so if you feel you can't tolerate a little bit of noise during the weekend, this is not the place for you. Stop leaving bad reviews if you are not doing your research! This is a space for partying and having fun with a set schedule to do so, after that nobody will be bothering you. We had an amazing stay, we checked in and got upgraded to pool view. Late check out was offered and we left with some fruit for breakfast. They had enough parking for everyone. Close to the mall and old town. Location was great. I recommend if you want to party with friends, having a bachelorette or want to meet new friends. We had a blast.

I had asked for a close room because I was not walking very well (I have an autoimmune disease). They were not even remotely full (it was a Wednesday) and we were given a room the farthest away in the back looking at a parking lot. I was disappointed that the room was basically an outdated motel that tried to be trendy. The hallway from the back to the pool was dirty, dark, and smelly. The food was expensive and not good. The fries were SUPER salty and inedible and the pastrami sandwich was dry and we were not given any condiments. When I booked online I was not informed that there were resort fees. They claim it was on my app but it was not apparent or up front or I would not have booked. So, I was then hit with extra charges for the room that was not really that nice and a stay that was not worth the price. I would not recommend this place at all for the price and the bate and switch with prices.

Toryl282, the situation you described regarding your room location and condition is unfortunate. The team is committed to ensuring all guests have a comfortable visit and appreciates your feedback about the room's ambiance and amenities. It's also regrettable to hear that the dining experience did not meet your expectations. The team takes these concerns seriously and aims for transparency with fees and charges. Your comments are valuable and will be reviewed to help improve future guest experiences.

First of all I want to mention the plus side of this property and not let my poor experience with them cloud my overall judgement of the Marriott brand.
1) Location excellent, within walking distance to old town Scottsdale and Fashion Square Mall.
2) Rooms are clean, well equipped and maintained.
3) The bar and restaurant staff were excellent and made our stay (4 weeks) very comfortable and feel like home away from home.
Now here comes the two major problems that we encountered with Adeline Hotel:
a) As a "Life Time Platinum Elite" member of the Marriott chain I would have expected a better reception at check in (we had booked a 4 week stay with them):
They did not offer us an upgrade even though the property was empty. They denied having a upgrade available as they were fully booked (when we checked on line we could have booked a suite). In the end they reluctantly gave us a suite for a part of our stay, when we embarrassed them of their availability. Their response was "You can perhaps get an upgrade at another Marriott property!"
We have since stayed at Marriott multiple properties in the UK, Egypt and Jordan all of them offered upgrades without any fuss or having to escalate and make them aware of their Marriott Policy for Elite Honors Members.
b) The accounting practices at this property was crazy complicated. I have never had an invoice so complicated that not only we could not work it out, neither could their staff after several attempts. Its been over a month since we were able to reconcile the invoice and credit card charges. In the end we found out that they had over charged us $1500 plus for our stay which they did eventually return to our Visa card.
We have visited over 51 countries and spent over 800 nights in Marriott hotels and this was one of the worst experiences ever and certainly does not represent their Brand.
I will also mention that their overseas properties are way ahead as far as Customer experience is concerned and they should pay much more attention to Customer Loyalty as it is a two way street.
Finally, we plan on coming back to Scottsdale, USA in April 2023, for another 6 week stay but we will certainly give this property a miss and take Adeline's advice to us of looking for another hotel that will give us a better loyalty member experience.

My husband and I stayed there for the first time this past weekend. It’s an old hotel that has been redone. It’s two floors so no elevator, it reminded me of the old motor lodge/motel. The rooms are small they have been redone. The pool is where all the fun and action is. The pool area is very nice. They don’t have enough chairs for all the guests they have lots of cabanas to rent. We did not have service in our room Friday or Saturday, Sunday I did ask if they could make up the room and put in fresh towels Sunday night when we were packing my husband noticed that his backpack was missing. The room is very small so it’s not like we overlooked it, and he had it when we got there on Friday because he had his toiletries and some shoes in there but Sunday night backpack was gone. We reported it to the front desk and they said they would check the security cameras. Security also made the mistake of saying there were a few people who are missing things . This is a Marriott property and I always stay at a Marriott and was very disappointed that this happened. My new air pod pros were in his backpack so those are now gone. It really sucks when things like this happen especially since more people are getting out and traveling.

Our stay at Hotel Adeline was overall a fine experience. However, there were a few notable points that hindered the stay and feel that others should know before booking a vacation with the hotel. To begin, it all began with the lack of communication and unity between the staff members. Nobody knew if room cleaning was upon request or was done daily. This resulted in an inconsistent cleaning schedule for our room. This carried over to the amenities which are listed on the website such as *1 Hour of Daily Wind Down - Happy Hour in Speakeasy & *$20 Food & Beverage Credit. Both being a false advertisements, and while checking out they did not satisfy the $20 beverage comp and claimed they had heard nothing of it. After our room was not cleaned one of the front desk associates offered us drink vouchers which we thought was a nice offer. Come to find out they gave us drink tickets that were only valid for our next stay…….. this type of service is not acceptable for a Marriott hotel partner which holds much higher standards then what was displayed during our trip. Please take all of this into account when booking because you will be mislead by the information posted on their website.

We were not guests of the hotel but chose to eat breakfast here two days because the quality was amazing. Chef Anthony personally came to our table. The omelets and French toast were table favs. Be sure to check out the speakeasy in the evening!

What an amazing staycation.... My husband and I wanted to get away for a night for our anniversary so we decided why not a hotel in the heart of Scottsdale?
We checked in and were greeted by AMZING front desk lady by the name of Cara. She made sure we could see her smile through her mask and she was loud and approachable when entering the hotel. We were also greeted by Orlando who is a maintenance manger with an amazing welcome. Everyone was wearing masks and taking correct protocol for cleanliness.
They were so kind to upgrade out room or out anniversary to a room with a pool view!! It was fully air conditioned for this heat... The room was spotless and they made sure to leave notes telling us everything was properly sanitized. Ive stayed in many hotels and I rate this room a 10/10. The shower is absolutely amazing with a hovering shower head and a very spacious area.
We hung out by the pool most of the day and had amazing pool bar service. As a bartender I know a good drink and our man did it right. Overall my experience at the Hotel Adeline was 10/10. Thank you all who made our stay amazing! Thank you again to Orlando, Cara, and Alex!!!!

We came here for a second year in a row to stay for our annual Spring Training trip and to celebrate my birthday. This is a unique property which is different from staying in the high rise hotel experience. The vibe is very retro and almost like an upscale motel. The entire hotel is two floors only with some rooms facing the pool and some facing the parking lot. Last time I faced the pool which was fun but this year I was given a room facing the parking lot on the first floor and really had issues with it. It is dark because you have to keep your shades closed all the time and I am a huge views person! I eventually asked to move even for part of our stay and then thanks to Bailey at the front desk I was moved to an amazing room on the second floor overlooking the pool for the last two nights. I would highly recommend those rooms! It made the stay so much better! The service at this hotel is amazing! Everyone caters to your every need - especially in the restaurant and the pool! I LOVED Trevor and Zack who took great care to make sure we had amazing cocktails and chairs and all we needed to really relax and have a great trip. Bailey at the front desk was so responsive with my room request and wanted to make sure I had an amazing birthday. They did send champagne and chocolate covered strawberries too which were incredible! So I would highly recommend the hotel as long as you know what to expect. The gym is great and the speakeasy is really fun for a late night cocktail. Lastly, you can't beat the location. It is close to Fashion Square and Old Town and fun to walk around the neighborhood to look at the homes and Camelback mountain.
