However, some travelers have raised concerns about the hotel's value, pointing out unexpected fees and issues with parking and reservation fulfillment. A friend and I had the pleasure of staying at the Sky Rock at the new year. We were impressed immediately by the friendliness of the staff, the quality and cleanliness of the room (it's very cozy), and the comfort of the community space. I was traveling with my small dog, and he was welcomed immediately (the GM even came out to say hello to him!) and there were Milk Bones out for all of the canine guests.

Deborah, the events planner, had lists ready for us (we were woefully unprepared and hadn't made any plans for New Year's Eve when we arrived) and was able to help us narrow down the options quickly and easily to find the best place to dine that night. Even better, she hosted a wine and cheese happy hour both nights we were there (included in the hotel price). The community space had a number of card and board games out for anyone to use that wanted to anytime of the day, but were in high demand at happy hour. Instead of eating out the second night, we grabbed take out and brought it back to eat on the terrace because it was such a lovely space.

The included breakfast was also lovely and there was even hot apple cider available in the afternoons--an unexpected and fantastic treat after coming back from a cold hike.

My friend and I have already recommended it to other friends and were either of us planning to return, we'd stay there again!

Our stay here was amazing from start to finish. The check in process was smooth and the staff were all incredibly friendly, courteous, and helpful. The room exceeded our expectations. The bed was very comfortable and the modern decor definitely gave it an upscale feel. You can tell they pay close attention to detail. We were unfortunately here during the covid pandemic so we couldn't enjoy all of the amenities like the bar, pool, etc. but were impressed by the measures they had taken. They have tape on the floor at check in to ensure social distancing and only allow one family member to attend check-in. They had grab-and-go bags for breakfast consisting of personal packaged bagels, cream cheese, cereal, and milk. Everything was very clean, etc.

Watching the sunset at the end of the day on the furnished patio was by far my favorite part of the stay. Definitely recommend!

Quiet, clean, comfortable, casual. Front desk was friendly and polite. Better food value than most restaurants in town. Wifi was good, TV was good, service was very good. Room blinds were much better than normal curtains, with second room darkening blind. Shower was always a great steady temp even when toilet next to shower was flushed. In room refrig stayed cold. Room missing microwave oven. Free self parking was nice. Ice was available from kitchen, which guest ice machine was being repaired. Never used pool but it was there and available. Room was cleaner than expected. Room had two movable chairs. Four AC outlets at center night stand.

When we arrived at the hotel we were informed that the room would not be cleaned because of COVID-19, since we were going to spend 6 nights in Sedona, we would not have stayed in this hotel, if we had know about this in advance. We asked for our room to be cleaned everyday and we scheduled the house keeping service to be done after 3:00PM, because we had our 2 sons having virtual school in the room from 8:00 to 2:30. The gentleman who helped us at the check in was nice, agreed and scheduled the service for us. For the first 2 days we had our room cleaned, on the following 3 days nobody showed up so we complained to 2 ladies that were in the reception, they were very arrogant and said that the service was not available, we mentioned that we had requested by the time we checked in and they continued to argue with my husband and after some discussion agreed on sending the house keeping team on the next day.

Another issue that we were not expecting was related to the food options, the breakfast was good but after that there was nothing for the guests to eat or drink, but the few options on the fridge, there was no bar, or restaurant at the hotel during the week, we had to buy lunch outside of the hotel for our kids that were having virtual school and could not leave the hotel during their lunch break.

The high points were definitely the amazing view, location, design, the fire pit areas, and the yoga by the pool, all the instructors were great and went above and beyond with the limited space that was available to them. It would have been nice to do yoga on the terrace looking at the beautiful view, specially if there were more areas with shades, just like the area by the lounge terrace. I feel like the best space in the hotel is not being used at its most.

Hopefully the staff will receive better instructions on how to talk to guests. We would be happy to return once housekeeping and restaurant become available.

Overall, I fairly enjoyed my 2-night stay at Sky Rock Inn of Sedona. The website showcases a very different style than expected. The guest rooms were not nearly as nice as the website describes. The website shows very large guest rooms with good lighting and great decor, but the guest rooms (I looked at two different rooms) were mediocre, quite small, and very dated. I paid for a deluxe King room, but when I arrived and was assigned a room, the view was minuscule, and I was very disappointed. I called the main desk and asked for a new room with a better view. The staff were happy to change my room location and were very polite. The newer location had a decent view, but the room itself was definitely not worth the price.

I am not hard of hearing, and the television in the room was so incredibly quiet, even with the volume up to 100, that I had to turn on the TV's subtitles in order to know what was happening in a show. The AC was constantly running and was very noisy. The one great pro was the bed - it was so comfortable! Another pro is the Wifi - the speed was great, especially since I had to work from my hotel room one day of my stay.

Breakfast is included in the stay, and it was great to see there was a hot breakfast available (eggs, sausage, and potatoes for both days that I stayed). The staff served the breakfast, so there wasn't cross contamination with other guests. There were also good cold options like yogurt, toast, bagels, and cereal. Breakfast was served in the lobby, which had a great view of the red rocks of Sedona.

One complaint is the pool area. The website showed a very nice area with a sparkling pool, but I was disappointed at how dated and dirty the pool was and how small of a seating area there was. It was difficult to maintain social distancing in the area, and they did not limit the number of people in the pool, which at the time of a pandemic was a little worrisome. There were some guests who stayed in the pool area the entire day, and some guests brought their entire family (10+ people) to the pool, played loud music, and stayed far past the 10:00 pool curfew.

The location is amazing, however everywhere in Sedona is beautiful. We drove by and loved the location and fire pits so decided to go in. In inquiring about rooms available i said my sister and I are looking to splurge and enjoy ourselves give us your best room. $300 a night on a Sunday. Room had no bathroom soaps or anything as all the canisters were empty and some hanging on the wall by a thread.. The bathroom looked like it needed a new paint with pealing all over and looked pretty bad. Entire row of lights were completely out in our room. Im not a very picky person but for the price point I didnt find the room to be up to par and needed basic maintenance and if your soap dispenser is falling off the wall empty at least leave some like other hotels do... for $300 a night.

Love the yoga and meditation in the morning, Beth Ann was fantastic. I found the staff to be absolutely doing the best they can but you can tell they are up against some tough situations they can not control.

The lobby, lobby bar and terrace are very tastefully decorated. The staff is attentive and friendly. This used to be a Best Western property and was redecorated. Most elements are nice, like the marble sink and comfortable beds and linens. The bath tubs are abysmall and are showing their age. Our bath did not drain correctly so a minute or two into your shower you're standing in dirty water. The shape of the bottom of the tub is also dangerous as it slopes inward, making it very slippery when wet.

Now for the good, the drawer fridge in the room is a great addition to keep drinks and snacks cold. The toiletries are very good and the bath items are located in the bath on the wall. It was nice to be offered a free beverage upon arrival, that is a nice touch.

Due to Covid-19, they are not going to clean your room while you stay and if you need more towels etc you have to go to the front desk. Sadly there was trash overflowing from all the trash bins on the property and the ice maker in the parking lot is broken. Their restaurant is currently closed and the bar is only serving very limited snacks, all in boxes. Fortunately there is a Whole Foods next door.

Our stay at your hotel was very nice but we had maybe a little higher expectations then the hotel was able to reach. The cleanliness of the outside really kind of spoiled the overall experience of the hotel because of the debris from the overflowing trash just outside our door so we chose to spend most of our time away from the hotel experiencing said The town of Sedona . I must say that your staff was extremely polite and very accommodating

This is an older motel that has been remodeled, and if you know that, you will see parts of the old mixed with the new. Our room was clean with comfortable beds and looked exactly as pictured online. We chose a room with a view which I would suggest because I noticed several of the other rooms simply faced a parking lot which would be a disappointment in Sedona. The lobby was very nicely remodeled, coffee was out throughout the day, and a hot breakfast with a good variety was served, even during Covid. The pool is small but still nice and they had Yoga in the morning. Whole Foods is right around the corner so a fridge in the room would have been great. The hotel is also minutes from Uptown and the nice view and trails on Airport road.

The Sky Rock Inn has a good location almost directly across from the airport and is nicely situated between east and west Sedona. Being positioned on a hill also provides excellent views of the sunrise and sunset. The hotel’s staggered balconies take full advantage of this and offer many comfortable seating areas.
The entire property is modern and well maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They offer yoga by the pool, a lovely bar just off of the lobby, and a nice COVID-conscious breakfast.
The only reason I couldn’t rate them a 5 out of 5 was the state of our room when we checked in. It is not a cheap hotel, and when we got to our room we found no towels, no soap, an empty tissue box, nothing on the sink at all. After a call to the front desk, an employee brought some things down, but it was not what we had hoped for when getting to our room after a long day of driving.
