Imagine staying in a room with a view of Sedona's red rocks, with upscale decor and amenities. Now imagine getting that and paying half what much-less exciting properties, in less convenient locations offer. That's the Matterhorn. Recently renovated, with a staff that cares (everyone I interacted with was pleasant and helpful), with a vibe unmatched by the more corporate offerings in Sedona (an old motor lodge, think Rt. 66 back when it was thriving), and clean, freshly updated rooms. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase in the lobby, with a really nice pool and hot tub on offer as well. Parking was available for free and the location was walkable to everything in Uptown Sedona. If you tend to gravitate towards boutique hotels or unique stays, this is the place for you. I'd stay here whenever I'm back in Sedona, and I hope you do too as this place was great and the owners/staff deserve success.…
Wonderful location location location! Walking distance to most places!! Clean immaculate and comfy bed!! Coffee, tea and granola bars in the lobby!! Sarah was superb!! She was extremely helpful with recommendation and helping us get around town!!! Thank you!!
Recently renovated the view is truly amazing and a reason to stay here. It is also located in Uptown Sedona so the location is great to walk to restaurants and shops nearby. The downside was the staff person who checked us in was less than friendly. Even though their website said the pool and spa would be open July 1st and we checked in July 2nd no apologizes were offered she seemed super annoyed I brought it up. So to sum up no pool or spa and a basic room with a view in a good location.
Clean, recently remodeled room with beautiful views (request a second floor room). Peaches at the front desk went out of their way to be accommodating (even hauled our luggage upstairs to our room...thanks again). The location is busy. For first time visitors, uptown puts you in the middle of the tee shirts, trinkets, and crystal district. I suspect most people on a return visit would stay in Oak Creek or West Sedona. That being said.. this is an ideal location. Great restaurants within walking distance (Elote and Cowboy Club).
Our room was quiet. The updated shower with rain head was beautiful but did leak out onto the bathroom floor. The view of the red rocks from the second story was great! We liked the ability to walk to shops and eating places (lots of road traffic). Only complaint: the office is SUPPOSED to be open from 7am to evening. Both mornings we were there, it didn't open until about 8:30am and had already closed before 5pm on one day. If you want more coffee for your room, get it WHENEVER you see a person in the office or you will have to wait till they drag themselves in to work in the morning. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and it was one of the more reasonably priced rooms for being in town in May at about $200 per night (pricy town for sure).
