We arrived to Matterhorn after a 2 hour drive from Phoenix. The hotel is situated in the heart of Sedona and is minutes from shopping, eating, and hiking. On the surface Matterhorn appears to be an old motel, but trust me it’s so much more. Please be aware, parking can be a little difficult at times. Most of the lots in front of the hotel will be taken depending on what time you arrive. Don’t worry, there are plenty of options around. The check in process was straight forward. The lady at the front was friendly and accommodating. Our room was on the second floor. There are steps on both ends of the property that lead up to the rooms on the second floor. Our room was extremely clean with a view to live for. The red rock canyon and shopping below created an unforgettable ambiance. Most nights we sat on the balcony and people watched. The bed was very comfortable, I had no complaints. The bathroom was modern and well appointed. These rooms were certainly well maintained, modern and clean. Outside of this property were shopping and dining options galore. Again it was situated in the heart of Sedona. You have access to pretty much anything your heart desires. I recommend Sedona Pizza Co. We had it on our first night and it was splendid. I would easily stay here again. It’s now my go to whenever we decide to visit Sedona. You won’t regret your stay. It’s a solid 5 stars for me. If you enjoyed my review please visit my Instagram page to see more of my travels: @worldwidemckay

Pros: -location: right in uptown Sedona so that you can walk to shops and restaurants -balcony was large and views were fantastic. Request 2nd floor if stairs are not a problem -room: newly renovated, large and well appointed. Includes fridge and microwave. Bathroom had nice large vanity and good storage. Bed was very comfortable. -plenty of parking and pool/hot tub area was nice. -large bottles of toiletries, hairdryer, Cons: - tried to call regarding an issue with reservation and it’s hard to get a hold of someone. You leave a message and sometimes they call you back -since we were staying 3 nights, we were told we would get housekeeping once, but they never came. Only 2 pods of coffee supplied for 3nights. -I left some clothing items in a drawer and they said they weren’t there. Probabaly got thrown away or housekeeping didn’t clean drawers. Called the day we left. Overall, good place for the price if you want a comfortable room in a good location. However, if service is important, this was lacking.

I just completed a mother-daughter trip to Sedona and spent four nights at this inn. If you’re looking for a convenient, more budget-friendly place to stay, the Matterhorn Inn does the trick. The room was spacious and clean, plus had great views of the landscape via the private balcony. The staff were all very friendly as well. The walls are a bit thin, so you may hear your neighbors at times, but otherwise no complaints!

Great location, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Easy check-in, friendly front desk, clean room, and comfortable beds. Spacious balcony with mountain views. Greeted by a double rainbow upon our arrival. Would definitely stay here again.

The Matterhorn is one of the most comfortable rooms I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. Our room (212) was massive and well-designed with a king sized bed, large closet and comfortable places to sit. The bathroom is very spacious with a lovely shower and a separate area for the sink. All of that said, the highlight was the balcony with two different sets of chairs and fantastic views of the red rocks. We loved sitting outside to sip our coffee and even watched the moon come up over the rocks one evening. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and Carolina was exceptionally kind and accommodating. She made us feel so welcome and comfortable from the minute we arrived. We hung out by the pool one afternoon and it was clean and the perfect temperature, with nice pool towels. The location cannot be beat. Everything we wanted to see in Sedona was less than 20 minutes away, including Oak Creek Canyon which is a must-see! I can't recommend Matterhorn more highly if you're looking for a fun, clean and comfortable place to stay in Sedona.

Man oh man, what a terrific place! Ideal location, walkable to literally everything in Sedona. Stayed in rooms 204 & 101, and I can tell you that the first floor rooms have a great view just like the top floor ones. 101 I think has the largest balcony in the entire place and it's great for sitting out and people watching on the main street. The rooms are renovated and quite comfortable. Mattresses, linens, etc, and great. Shower is large and the provided toiletries were wonderful. Front desk staff is friendly and accommodating. I really can't wait to return to Sedona and will definitely be booking here again.

We had a 2 night stay. The Hotel is in a great location for restaurants and shopping. The room was specious, clean and the bed was comfortable. Loved their bath products as they had a fresh scent and not mannish as I found out other hotels that use the pump bottle products. Staff was friendly. The view from room was fantastic. Would definitely stay at the Matterhorn again.

We happened to snag the last room that they had for the Sedona Wine Festival. I absolutely cannot say enough about this Inn. The room was so very nice, clean, and the view was just stunning from our balcony. Staff was really nice, unfortunately I didn't get to experience the pool, but I'd stay here again without thought. The only complaint we had was the parking. I know there were signs stating parking for Inn guests only, but I guarantee that people were looking for free parking parked there. The Inn was in a prime location for shopping and dining.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a nice review we appreciate it. I apologize I know parking can tight here at times. I assure you though, that the only people parking in our parking areas were guests of the inn. We hand out parking passes to all of our guests and we make sure they are placed in the car. We enjoyed hosting you here at the Matterhorn Inn, and hope to do it again next time, maybe you can hang by the pool and hot tub on your next trip. Thank You, Front Desk

I've never stayed anywhere that had such wonderful views. Our room was on the second floor with a large balcony and four chairs. We sat on the balcony a lot during our one night stay, just gazing at those beautiful rocks and all the activity in Uptown. The location is prime, within walking distance of lots of shops and restaurants. We opted for a takeout dinner to eat on the balcony, probably the best seat in town. Our room was ready and we were able to check in early. The room was fine, and I was happy that there were options for no-pet rooms. I appreciated the small fridge where we could chill our water bottles. When we walked in, there was a heavy scent of cleanser, which even my husband noticed. I thought $184 (total, including taxes and fees) was a fair price. Would love to stay here again, not for the room itself, but for the beautiful views and location.

So today as I am writing this they are number 26 of hotels in Sedona and when I booked they were at top 5. I can understand why. Overall it isn't bad but it is not what I expected. I was very excited to come here and when we arrived after having driven many hours, it wasn't the best. First I had requested an upper floor. I made res in plenty of time to secure that request. I booked 2 rooms. Her first response was it's late and these are the only rooms we have left and it says patio on your res. I said it can't possibly and she said in a very condescending voice, well you booked it through expedia and THEY screwed it up. Turned me off immediately as I was guided to expedia on trip advisor. We were by the parking lot and laundry room on ground. The lobby closes at 9 we were told. It was about 8. When we got to room safe didn't work so my husband immediately went to office as we were worried about closing. She came and fixed it. Next there was no remote for the tv. Back to the office. Parking is not great and we had to park at an outer lot that after dark you need a flashlight to see where you are going. Before we left for dinner, about 830ish, were going to stop at lobby to fill our water bottles. Closed. No one is on duty at night. There is a number to call but that's it. The next morning I went to office before we left to request cleaning of both rooms as many nats come in at night. And I wasn't sure the last time our room was cleaned. When we returned about 3 pm, room wasn't touched. Thankfully staff still there and person I spoke to still there and it was clearly marked on the sheet. They just didn't do it. When we returned a few hours later it was done, but had we not stopped in the middle of day, oh well. View was nice but being on the lower floor we had these big exhaust panels outside our door and anyone can walk by. It was nicely redone and has all the elements to be good, especially location, but they need to get the details done. A/c was so loud!!
