Elizabeth Manor is an experience everyone should enjoy. The property and the hosts combine to provide a most satisfying experience. Hosts Alisa and Bob are courteous, knowledgeable and good fun, happy to share their beautiful homestead with guests keen to be indulged with kindness and luxury. Complementary port upstairs in the library and wine and cheese in your room are a nice touch, as are the bubble-bath and fluffy robes. Breakfast in the elegant dining room guarded by a genuine English suit of armor is a joy. Scottish highland cattle grazing outside with the horses provide a peaceful view from the balcony. If you want to spend a whole weekend in your suite, there is plenty of space and beautiful decor to enjoy the quiet country air. Located between Lithgow and Bathurst, there are interesting local villages to explore, with retail therapy to suit most tastes. All in all, a wonderful experience. Wish it could have been longer.

Stayed here for two nights in late May. The hosts were fantastic, very welcoming and genuine people.
Rooms are huge, beds are very comfortable, bathrooms have a huge claw foot bath.
Breakfast is cooked to your liking, really no complaints at all!
Off the track a little so if you are after peace and quite this is your location. Big library of books and DVD's to enjoy...
No kids though, keeps the noise down :)

Very relaxing time at this huge B&B near Bathurst. Rooms are spacious and private. Breakfast is excellent, Alisha makes the best fried eggs I've tasted in years, and can be served in your room or the dining room. A hearty dinner can be had in the local pub, followed by a glass of complementary port on return to the B&B. Recommended as a weekend escape from the city.

We received a voucher for a night stay in Elizabeth Manor. From the moment you arrive it feel like you have been transported to an English country side....the gorgeous grounds are a great for a stroll. The decor inside makes you think you are in a medieval castle. At the front door you are welcomed by the gorgeous owners who will go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The room is more then you could ask for....free delicious wine, cheese platter, snacks, tea and coffee...The bathroom with an old fashion bathtub is perfection... especially if you fill the bath with the beautiful bath lotion left there for you....the breakfast is cooked as you like it and there is ample food and drinks....the owners are very attentive, friendly and welcoming. We just wished we could have stayed longer.....maybe next time! Would definitely recommend this as a romantic...relaxing getaway!

We stayed there over a Saturday and Sunday night after receiving the accommodation as a gift.....we were absolutely blown away by the whole experience!!!
The hosts Alisa and Bob were warm and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. Their genuine interest in their guests certainly shows in how well the place is maintained and how they interact with everyone.
We stayed in the Edward suite which was massive in size ...3 rooms! All of the touches in the suites are well thought out and the cleanliness was unbelievable....not a speck of dust or stray hair:)
The main room had a king sized bed, lounge and tv/dvd player and lots of room, more than enough room to swing a cat or two ;)
The bathroom had a full sized claw foot bath, full size shower, cabinet etc complete with soap, bubble bath, shampoo, conditioner and make up remover wipes.
The kitchenette was lovely, great views from the two windows, a large table with 4 chairs, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and all cutlery & crockery that you would need. There was also more than enough quality tea, coffee, sugar that you could want....not cheap catering supplies. In the fridge was a beautiful bottle of local wine and a cheese platter.
The whole weekend was amazing and we would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality get away. We will definitely be going back!

All the previous reviews about Elizabeth Manor House and its great owners are spot on.
The only thing I can add is that if you are after some activities to do Kanangra walls is an awesome place to visit. Its requires driving on an unsealed road but a 4WD is NOT required. Its not full of tourist like Jenolan Caves.
For dinner the local pub is pretty good but if you feel like travelling the church pizza bar in Bathurst was worth experiencing.

Stayed at the Elizabeth Manor House in O'Connell for our 39th Wedding anniversary April 2013, we stayed in the Queen Anne Suite for 2 nights, the owners were fantastic and meet us at the main door every time for a chat and had a list of places and things to do in the area. The room consisted of the living / dinning area with kitchenette ( fridge/microwave/toaster/kettle/cutlery/crockery ) separate huge bedroom and separate bathroom.
The 3 suites are upstairs with the main dining room reception area downstairs were the owners live, there is also a separate area upstairs which has a library and DVD's and a balcony with BBQ and telescope. We had a complimentary bottle of wine and cheese plate with some chips and biscuits.
The Manor is situated about a 5minute drive from O'Connell which is about halfway between Oberon and Bathurst , there is a cafe and Hotel ( Pub ) at O'Connell , the Pub has very good meals, the Cafe is only open until 4.30pm.
The Owners were very friendly people and were willing to help with anything you might want , they even gave us a little present for our Anniversary , so if you are looking for a quit getaway we would highly recommend it

We were really pleasantly surprised with this overnight stay. The place is in the most beautiful spot - really rural, perfect place for star spotting and relaxing (binoculars and telescope available).
We sampled the local wine (bottle part of the stay) and were spoiled with a lovely cheese platter to accompany it - all able to be enjoyed in the extremely spacious 3 room suites (kitchenette and bathroom attached to the main bedroom) - or out on the balcony, watching the sunset, Then you can either use the BBQ (also on the balcony) or head down to the local pub before coming back and enjoying a night cap (port or sherry) and maybe one of the many dvds or books (dvd players in each room). Each room also has microwave, fridge and a table and chairs. The panorama was incredible and you can spot the local wildlife and see beautiful sunrise amongst the beautiful scenery. And the bathroom has beautiful claw-foot baths - the hot water is scorching - perfect for chilly nights. Heating and air con will keep you at your optimum temperature throughout the entire suite. The bed, we both agreed, was THE comfiest bed we've slept on. EVER.
The owners are lovely and nothing was too much trouble. You can have breakfast made to order at the time of your choice and it can be delivered to your room or you can join others in the dining room.
We had breakfast in our room but were happy to enjoy a great night socialising on the balcony with the other two couples - stargazing and eating cheese/drinking wine.
We will be recommending the place to everyone. A great weekend retreat.

Response from Alisa G, Owner at Elizabeth Manor House
Responded Oct 26, 2012
It was truly an honour to host you both. It was so lovely to see you all sharing a wine and a tale or two upstairs that evening. A night to remember for us too!!! Thank you, and we hope to see you both again soon. Regards, Alisa & Bob

Although modern and new, this beautiful English style manor is built in the style of yesteryear. It is situated in a quiet, rural setting of lush, green pastures and rolling hills. There are three royal themed suites, "Anne", "Edward" and "Victoria" in the main house on the top floor. Each is self contained with kitchenette, living room, spacious bedroom and bathroom. Each suite has windows providing a great view of the grounds and beyond. There is also a well stocked library, comfortable lounge and telescope in a large upstairs sitting room that opens up onto a large balcony complete with barbeque and outdoor setting. The hosts, Alisa and Bob, are so welcoming and are there at your beck and call .. making us feel like Lord and Lady of the Manor! They carried our bags to the suite, showed us around and left a cheese platter, bottle of wine and nibblies as a welcoming gift. They recommended where to eat for dinner .. which happened to be a great local pub and the meals were pretty good. We slept in a very regal, comfy bed and everything from the white sheets and towels to white robes and napkins were monogramed with their special insignia .. a lovely touch! Breakfast in the morning, and what a breakfast it was, could be taken in the dining room downstairs or in your suite at a time of your choosing. Waking up before dawn was magical! There was a morning mist as the kangaroos gathered to feed in the paddocks. It was a picture postcard scene. We were one of three couples staying for the weekend (the maximum number of guests), yet we all had privacy. This is an indulgent weekend away and you feel thoroughly spoilt, yet have ample privacy. I would definitely recommend staying at Elizabeth Manor House and I will be staying there again in the future.

From the moment we got there until the moment we left, we wanted for nothing. the most welcoming of greetings, followed by a weekend of the best country hospitality. fantastic room, comfortable and spacious, with large and CLEAN bathroom. I could not fault our hosts. a wonderfully cooked large country breakfast (on both mornings), the complimentary cheese and antipasto, local wine and bread was a beautiful touch. our fantastic hosts were full of advice about the best places to visit and photograph, which added to the enjoyment of a fantastic weekend. I would recommend this experience without hesitation
