Decided to book the Canopy Hilton Tempe as post Covid treat. 1 day of business, 1 day of play. Pleasantly surprised with the modern upscale furnishings and decor. Check-in was quick and friendly and I appreciated the just cleaned smell and appearance of them property. Room is great, Nespresso is a nice touch. Lunched at the bar/restaurant for their $10 burger lunch and was so delicious! Bar/waitstaff was excellent as well. Pool deck is gorgeous!! Great location for walkable downtown Tempe. Liked the polished concrete room floors with area rug in the room - . seems cleaner than wall to wall carpet. You have to pay for parking, but I liked the text the valet to have the car waiting when you exit. Over all a gem of a property in Tempe. I'm looking forward to coming back!

Who says you can't have a little fun while you work? Whoever they are haven't stayed at the Canopy Tempe Downtown! Our hotel takes in the vibrant Arizona vibes and comes together for a modern deco-design displayed throughout our property. Just like the design of our hotel we offer amenities for both the business and the leisure traveler to enjoy. Our Just Right guest rooms offer a large desk space and a Nespresso machine to give you that cup of energy needed to start the day. Join us for lunch in Alter Ego where our lovely Food & Drink Enthusiasts are there to provide you with great recommendations from our restaurant - like the Ego Burger! Head up and take a dip in our rooftop pool and enjoy the stunner views of the valley. Wanna hit the town? Well you don't have to go to far! We are walking distance from all the shops and restaurants on Mill Ave so you don't need a vehicle. If you do bring your vehicle, then our valet service makes getting your car easy with their text service. Thanks again for the awesome review. Hope to have you back again soon!

Hotel's Favourite
I stayed at The Canopy for 3 nights and it was money well spent. It’s a very aesthetically pleasing hotel and I loved my room. All the staff was super nice (especially Aundria & Jacob) and friendly which added to the experience. Staff was quick to respond to messages/questions I sent in the Hilton Honors app. I felt pretty safe there because you need a room key to use the elevators and access other spaces in the hotel, and after a certain time at night you need a room key to get into the building at all. Everything I needed was within walking distance (Mill Ave is a block away and there’s a bunch of food, CVS, etc nearby) which was nice because as a solo female traveler I didn’t want to be in Lyft/Ubers too much. When I did want to use a ride share app there were always plenty in the area. The hotel also provides free rental bikes which was really unique. I only went to the pool once, but it was nice with nice views. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay I’d definitely stay here again if I find myself back in Tempe!

Here at the Canopy, we not only want our guests to have a positively perfect experience but a safe one as well! From the moment you walk in you are greeted by our lovely valet and welcome team. If you need anything during your stay, we are just a text or call away and can answer questions you may have! Our hotel is very secure and has a lot of safety features making our guests stay a comfortable and relaxing experience. Being in the heart of Downtown Tempe we have lots to do around us. You can choose to stay at the hotel and enjoy some delicious food up at the pool, or you can take one of our free bikes and explore the town. The options are endless! We are so happy that you had a great time with us and we can't wait to see you back again!

From the moment you walk into the Canopy, you feel welcomed. The environment is inviting and I felt like our vacation was about to begin. The rooms are clean, modern and the bed is comfy. We enjoyed the rooftop pool during the day and at night we had drinks at the rooftop lounge that overlooks Tempe. For breakfast we enjoyed the Katsu Chicken & Waffles, Breakfast Flatbread and the Banana Fritter Pancake, very yummy. The staff at the front desk, breakfast area and the lounge are very nice and I felt like when I asked a question or made a comment they really listened. We borrowed their bicycles to explore ASU campus and the surrounding area. The location can not be beat with the nightlife on Mill Ave and light rail nearby that we took to the airport. Thank you for a GREAT STAY.

It is difficult to understand how this hotel is part of the Hilton chain. It turns out to be more of a luxury hostel than a hotel, or rather a student residence in the middle of ASU. This is really what a guest will see: spacious rooms with poor decoration and an ordinary shower (no bathtub). The bathroom has a poorly fitted barn door that opens itself every time you close it. So much for having privacy in the bathroom if you’re not staying in a room by yourself. The lobby, restaurant, and bar, have an open floor concept where it is difficult to determine where one begins and the other ends. It’s reminiscent of a college cafeteria. The decor and furniture throughout the hotel is reminiscent of a student residence. The pool and bar on the roof of the hotel have a bunch of issues as well. For instance, being a hotel guest and having a hotel keycard means nothing if you want to access the pool area. You must have a wrist bracelet (one for each day of your stay) and have your ID scanned to gain access to that area, because they sell pool tickets to non-guests. The pool area is small and is usually very crowded, making getting one of the very few sun beds nearly impossible. Forget about getting decent shade: there are four umbrellas in the entire pool area (which, as a reminder, serves both guests and non-guests) and you’ll be tripping over everyone else scattered on the floor laying on towels. At least they have plenty of towels available. If you intend to go up to the pool to relax for a while, you’ll end up doing the opposite. During my stay, the pool water was quite murky, giving off the impression of poor sanitation and cleaning. The drink selection is very limited: they don’t even have Bacardi rum in either of the hotel's two bars. Is this really a Hilton? The food selection is also very limited and, at least in the bar and pool area, resembles street food. It is a shame that a rooftop bar with beautiful views of the city and its surroundings is so underused. I must admit, though, that the hotel staff, in all areas of the hotel, all strive to offer excellent service; most notable are the service personnel, swimming pool bar servers and bartenders, valet parking guys, receptionists, etc. The hotel’s location is another very positive aspect. Think about your preferences and see if this is really a place for you.

The Canopy hotels are a new brand by Hilton. Each one you go to is going to look and feel a little different. The hotels were designed to take in the local culture and atmosphere. You will find them in the center of all of the fun! The Canopy Tempe Downtown brings in the best of the Arizona vibes to make up this boutique-like hotel. Each of our Just Right guest rooms were made with the comfort and relaxation of our guests in mind. I apologize that you were not able to relax due to the barn door issue with your room. We appreciate you bringing it to our attention and will have our Engineering team look into the issue. Our rooftop pool area is for our paying guests. We do sell a small amount of day passes and cabanas for those not staying at the hotel and want to have a fun day in the sun. For our holiday weekends, we do have extra staffing and security in place to ensure that our over 21 guests are able to enjoy a beverage while out at the pool. Although our rooftop area is small, we do offer additional shaded seating at two of our outside patios in Alibi located at the pool and bar area. We work hard to ensure that our hotel is in tip top shape, and I apologize if you felt the appearance of our pool was not up to standards. We will be sure to pass this information along to our team to address. Our Food & Drink team put their hearts and souls and into the drinks that they made and the food that they put out. While we may not offer Bacardi, we do offer a high end selection of rums and other spirits, including locally brewed beers and distilled spirits that our guests can try while visiting Arizona. Our Enthusiasts strive to provide positively perfect service to each and everyone one of our guests. I will be sure to pass along the positive comments to them. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback about your previous stay as it help us learn and grow for our next guests. We do hope to have you back with us again in the future so we can show you the true Canopy Way!
