As our two week stay comes to a end we leave Coconut Grove refreshed and relaxed. Our beach house was perfect for my husband and myself...fully equipped kitchen, AC, Satellite TV, WiFI, bedroom and spacious bathroom! Our porch provided the perfect spot to enjoy a meal, or chill out in the hammock! Located within a few steps of the beach and the Pacific Ocean makes this the ideal location. The pool and Rancho also provided a great place to meet and mingle with other guest from all over the world!
The owners are friendly and welcoming! They can help you plan your stay in the area!
Reservations can easily be made.
Now you can understand why we keep returning!

I have to be honest and point out that I hesitate to write this review because I kind of want to keep Coconut Grove a secret. However, I feel that such a wonderful place deserves acknowledgement! My husband and I stayed here for only two nights during a two week whirlwind around Costa Rica. It is one of my favorite places in the world now. The cottages are very nice, and even have a fridge and sink to do some food preparation. I think the larger cottages have kitchens. There is a pool and a barbeque area, that also has lounge chairs and hammocks. The property is gorgeous, with luscious plants and wildlife everywhere. Lots of iguanas... The beach in front of the property is gorgeous and pretty empty. The town is a few miles away, and the closest restaurant, Por Que No?, is right down the beach (this restaurant is amazing by the way). Diane and Richard are so hospitable and will help you arrange anything you need to. They arranged a driver for us when we left for Chirripo. We ended up relying on him the rest of the trip because he was so reliable and his prices were fair. The property is in a convenient location, with Manuel Antonio only being an hour away. San Isidro is only about 30 minutes away. When we go back, I would like to stay here for at least a week just to truly enjoy the lifestyle. If you are looking for something secluded, quiet, and pristine, then this is for you! Oh, there are also daily yoga classes on a platform on the property. You can practice yoga facing the ocean! Anyway, I cannot wait to come back to Coconut Grove and my husband and I could not be more grateful for Diane and Richard's help!

There was a reason they had rooms available on one of the busiest weekends of the tourist year. The Rottweiler was friendlier than the owners. The construction of the cottages is absolute minimum. Lots of traffic noise. Nice location, great beach, great food within walking distance, though.

This place is located in a fairly deserted and REALLY nice swimable beach a couple miles douth of Dominical. We loved the beach - there is a volcanic rock formation next to the beach which was really cool to walk on,. The sunsets here were absolutely amazing.

The pool was REALLY clean and a perfect temperature. The rooms were clean, but the fixtures were a little dated. The wireless worked, for the most part, although we did have intermittent problems. The AC worked great (and it was REALLY hot when we were there). There were almost no bugs in our room (which for Costa Rica is really hard to find).

The expat owner was extremely hospitable. He had offered to help us with anything we needed, and addressed our questions regarding good places to eat, activities, etc. He even took us to a nearby waterfall couple minutes away that is not open to the public. In addition, we had requested extra pillows and they were in our room by the time we got back from a tour.

We would have given this place 5 stars easily, but the bed was so bad we both left with pretty bad back pain that took us a few days to recover.

Overall, we would HIGHLY reccomend this place, unless you have back problems or have a sensitive back.

What a great place, gorgeous grounds with private cottages, steps from the beach and the perfect location for all your adventures. All the buildings have a beautiful porch looking out to the beach. We stayed at house # 5 (highly recommend it) and hung out on the porch having our morning coffee and evening cocktails watching the birds, iguanas and beautiful sunsets. Our daily morning beach walks were a highlight, as were the daily visits from their clan of rescue dogs, Flaca was our favorite :)

This location is perfect, we stayed here for seven days and used it as a jumping off point for all our activities. Daily adventures to Manuel Antonio National Park and beaches, Uvita and whale watching, Sierpe Mangrove tour or just hanging out at the pool, everyday was great. We especially enjoyed the charming pool morning, noon and night.

Diane and Richard, the hosts, ROCK, and their 30 years experience can guide you to Pura Vida. Don’t let the “rainy” season scare you away, it’s the perfect time to come.

Coconut grove cottages are the definitive place to stay if you want to be able to walk, explore and view one of the most beautiful beaches in the world from your lodging accommodations. Coconut Grove is where the tropical jungle meets the sea, Coconut Grove cottages are defined by Costa Rican mountains meeting the Pacific Ocean in all its splendor and glory. Domincal is a great destination with surfing, yoga, dance, and hang gliding. View majestic mountains eat local cuisine, shop and browse farmers markets and get a massage at the cottages if you're so inclined. Walk the beach, swim in the surf and enjoy all the natural living beauty within your backyard. Comes complete with avocado, orange, plantain and banana trees onsite and ripe for the picking. The owners are friendly and informative with excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants, hikes, attractions, and drives into neighboring environs. We stayed 3 nights in one of the standard bungalows at this stunning beachfront property. The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped allowing us to make our own meals, a bit of a novelty after two weeks of eating out every night! The property fronts right on to the extraordinarily lovely Dominacalito beach which is a safe swimming beach and best of all, we had it all to ourselves every day! The sunset on our final evening was one that we will never forget.

Richard and Diane are wonderful hosts. This place is so friendly, and has everything you need. Self catering cottages/cabins with air conditioning. 5 minutes walk to a beautiful, quiet beach and a pool on the property.
The cabins are not luxurious, yet have everything you need, including a porch, and are very reasonably priced.
The owners' rescue dogs are very friendly, and the iguanas are everywhere.

Room Tip: A cabin nearer the ocean may be quieter. This is truck noise on the highway at night.
