I have visited Waterfall Villas twice this year, the first time in February and the second time by the end of May. The overall experience was incredible, the best I've had in Costa Rica (I have traveled almost all over the country). I can't stress enough that the main highlight was doña Xinia, who made sure all of our needs were met and made us feel at home, as part of the family. She is an excelsior chef, who prepared out of this world vegan dishes for all our meals. The name of the owner escapes me, but she was also extremely attentive and accommodating, even though we did not get to share too much time with her. Secondly, the natural surroundings are heavenly gorgeous. The river/creek that crosses the property and the beautiful waterfall with a wood deck to sit and relax. There also is a lookout platform that you can go to and meditate, have a picnic or simply enjoy lovely views. We stayed both times in the Jade Suite, ideal for a romantic experience. Surrounded by nature and the river's murmuring. The outside jacuzzi is the main feature since it's totally private but also connects you with the exterior. Finally, the location is unbeatable: just minutes from Nauyaca falls, about one and a half hours from Ecochontales and Elysiana waterfalls, less than one hour from Dominical and Ventanas beaches, plus other nearby attractions. I simply cannot recommend another place if you are visiting the area.

Imagine being in the middle of a jungle ecological preserve at the top of a waterfall!!!! It was beyond our wildest imagination. Our villa was magnificent; so spacious and visually rich. A 20' long balcony overlooked the waterfall stream. The cacophony of jungle creatures calling at night over the sound of rushing water creates the most experiential calming cleansing sleep. I hope you get to experience it. The food is the best in the whole wide world!!! True vegan, low fat, low salt meals and so tasty! Every meal was a new creation beautifully plated and served in the most romantic outdoor dining area. We loved this! No struggling to find a vegan option hoping it wasn't cooking next to bacon. The chef is like an angel - she serves everything with love. Fateh made our trip a true vacation. She arranged everything for our nature tours and stayed on top of it. We didn't have to stress and figure out anything! She was a true super hero when our negative covid tests were not received and we weren't able to board our plane without them. Fateh's expertise and the hours she spent on phone calls with the clinic resulted in us getting our test results just hours before we needed to board! You can trust everything to Fateh and truly relax on your vacation. In short, I couldn't recommend Waterfall Villas highly enough. It's even more beautiful than the photos!

I recently booked a 10 day yoga/spa retreat at Waterfalls Villas. I was so looking forward to a peaceful, relaxing juice fast combined with yoga, and other services advertised on the website. Sadly, the reality bore no resemblance to what the website promised or advertised. You might want to read the review titled “Waste of money and lack of care for Guests” It says exactly what I wanted to but I was too lazy to write it all out. There was no supervision, consultation, services or care provided. In a word this place is a joke! I should have questioned everything when there was little to no information on the website on exactly how someone was supposed to get to the “resort”. I was told that they could provide a driver who would pick me up in San Jose for $175 each way. They failed to mention that I could have flown to Quepos which is 20 minutes away and only cost $70 dollars. I was told the airport was closed due to Covid-19. Airport personnel confirmed that it had not been closed! That was a lie! I flew home from Quepos. It was a delight, unlike the drive from San Jose to WV! The driver was a maniac. I thought I was going to die multiple times. At one point I had to ask him to pull over so I could get something to drink. There were no refreshments provided for the 3 hour roller coaster ride! And for this I paid $175 dollars??? Once at the villas I was disappointed to find that half of the lights in my room did not work. There was no phone, no phone service and no WiFi! I couldn't even read a book at night. The water in the hot tub was to hot to even get in. They did send a repairman the next day. Then it was too cold to get in! And on top it all the water looked like it had not been cleaned in months. Other than the owner, who was never available, nobody speaks English so you are pretty much on your own. On Sunday I wanted to go to the beach but was told that no cabs worked on Sundays. Also not true! They did find the husband of an employee to drive me the 5 minutes to the beach for $20 dollars. On another occasion I was unable to get a cab to take me anywhere. The staff would not help me so I finally had to call the police. Then miraculously, the staff was able to find me a ride. The only yoga class they offered was in the afternoon despite the website claiming that they had classes at 8:30 am. And then the instructor spent as much time talking about herself as actually leading a class. And that was a joke. WaterFall Villas is located on a busy road so you can forget a “tranquil;” experience at this facility. The staff could care less about you once they have your money. I checked out after 6 days (no refund offered) and moved to a hotel bear the beach. This was the worst travel experience of my life. I really don't know how they survive. They lie, cheat and don't seem to care one iota about their guests. Save your money and look somewhere else. There are plenty of other resorts more deserving of your travel dollars!

I would like to thank the whole team of Waterfall Villas, especially one amazing woman - Fateh, the owner of the resort, who has been a great source of inspiration, knowledge and wisdom to me in regards to natural way of life, diet and Kundalini yoga. My two-month wellness stay in her resort was not only transformational but also inspirational, magical time and it has left a deep impression on me which will last the lifetime. My transformation was even more intensified by the breathtaking nature and incredibly powerful energy of this place. The power and sounds of the jungle, wisdom of the water gushing from the waterfalls kept energizing me and bringing me back to the true essence of being throughout the entire time. I really appreciate the individual approach of the whole team, who pampered me with dedication, loving care and professional service during my body detox and the healing process. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and I wish you a lot of love, new inspiration, well-being, enough strength for everything you do and many satisfied clients, just like me. Can't say enough about our visit! With the kids at the grandparents, spouse and I found a superb opportunity to visit Waterfall Villas. We are tremendously grateful to Ms. Fateh for her kind communication with us. We found her warm, responsive and inviting! After a lengthy drive from San Jose, I missed the turn toward Waterfall Villas (my fault, it was raining and I forget to check the WhatsApp location). When we arrived, my wife and I were stunned. The ambiance, candles, and welcome of Ms. Xinia was really beyond words. She had stayed waiting for us, past her work day, so she could be sure that we had a decent meal after a long trip. What a wonderful, beautiful welcome! My wife and I both speak Spanish, so we were so delighted to offer Ms. Xinia our warmest gratitude and our praises of her epic dinner. Xinia replied that it is Ms. Fateh who prepares the menus, to our wonder! Our room (the goddess suite) was lovely. Clean, tidy, with lovely vegan artisanal soaps, shampoos, it was terrific and we were both so thrilled. The true wonder happened next morning when we saw the breathtaking beauty of the series of small waterfalls right next to the cabins. WOW! I cannot stress enough how special and unique the sights and sounds of the waterfall. We cancelled all other plans (and continued to enjoy the Ms. Xinia WONDERFUL curry and later a terrific eggplant, tofu tomato combination) and remained at the water falls for our entire stay. (Note: if you don't live in Costa Rica and would like to see more of the country, Waterfall Villas is ideally placed for touring some of the country's best beaches. Since we live here, we just wanted to be mediate and enjoy each other's company). We hiked up the lovely trail leading to an AMAZING lookout tower, we explored the river up and down the series of waterfalls while I hummed songs from Lord of the RIngs... (really it is that nice!) I can't recommend Waterfall Villas enough. I read some of the recent reviews and I am sorry to others who had different experiences. However, we had a blast! We would return tomorrow if possible.
