We stayed in jademar cabins for 4 nights. We had a private cabin facing the beach. The cabin was basic with fun but we enjoined it very much. The staff (english speakers) was extreamly freindly and helpful and the location is great (center of the...More
The place it self is a bit run down, but they get 4 stars, because the owners are very enthusiastics and friendly. The owner Johnny are very eager to show you around the premise and look at the wildlife. Every day around sunset the Scarlet...More

The room was nice and clean, although the beds were a little too big for the room leaving very little space for suitcases and moving around. We had some ants and bugs and there is no mosquito net provided so it might be a good...More
The curse of the small town that gets lots of tourists (for now...!). Shoddy building materials, a real lack of investment, but charging above average nightly rates... And over the top extra for breakfast, just to make you even more annoyed. Lacklustre, slow and mediocre...More

We had a great stay at Cabinas Jafe Mar in Drake Bay. There is a market across the street where you can buy bottled water and other groceries. If you are staying at Cabinas Jade Mar then you can put your bottled water in a freezer that sits up by the cabanas. Hope this helps.

we paid US dollars for our stay at Cabinas Jade Mar. There are no ATM machines in Drake Bay. So if you want to use Colones instead of US Dollars use an ATM at the San Jose Airport. You get a better exchange rate by using the ATM. Make sure you get a room with air. Let Johnny know that you need a taxi from the airport. The airport is tiny and there are a few "taxis" which cost us $15-$20 pp each way. You cannot walk from the airport. I friended Cabinas Jade Mar on Facebook and talked to Johnny thru Facebook messenger. The roads are bad. make sure you bring plenty of cash either dollars or Colones. A lot of places only take cash. If you are bringing a credit card make sure you notify the credit card company to let them know that you will be in Costa Rica( You don't want them to put a hold on your card). Have a great trip.
