We were in Drake Bay from February 28 to March 3 and Norlyn and his wife made us feel welcome from start to finish. I contacted him in advance of our arrival to discuss the best way to get to Drake Bay and he was very helpful. He advised me that we should arrange our trip to Corcovado in advance,...

The owner and his wife run this small, cozy and friendly hotel. They are so nice that they barbequed ribs, chicken and had beer for all of the guests on New Year's Eve. It felt like family. The room was nice and clean and I had a hammock right outside to laze and read books in. It is just a...

The rooms are nice and clean. The location is perfect, just at the end of the central street. Quite but close to restaurants and the supermarket. The hosts are very friendly and help you with all kind of questions and can arrange tours. We were very late organizing our Corcovado trip but they managed to arrange it for us and...

“No wash sinks, so be prepared to use shower to hand wash adventure clothes and other gear. The one aspect I did have an issue with is breakfast. It was coffee, two pieces of fruit and plain (small) white toast with option to spread jam or better. Pretty bleak offerings and the service starts at 7:30 AM which is waaayyy too late for adventure travelers who usually wish to set off early before sun gets too hot. The panaderia is just down the road in the center of town and there you can buy bread and drink coffee and generally hang with interesting people. He takes credit card so that's nice although rate goes up. If you plan on having dinner there, my experience in small restaurants of this nature the quality of experience may be excellent but slow so...if you are pressed or don't have much patience, order half hour prior to sitting down at tables.”
  • If you don't do well with humidity/heat and no a/c available, these make a difference.
