This is a great village pub. New landlords John and Annette are really making a go of it. The local beer is well kept and we enjoyed the pies after a day out walking. They are packed with meat and come with proper chips and gravy.

Who can resist 'famous pies'? They are indeed well worth a visit. Various home made proper pies served each Friday from 6 pm Good value for money - my sister and i share a pie when we go - and nice friendly village pub atmosphere. .

We had been told by the owner of our holiday cottage that we should try the pies, calling in on the he Friday (Pie night) we were not disappointed! Although they had run out of steak and ale pies we had the minces beef and onion. To say heI were big is a understatement! And they were tasty too! Next...

Yep. Small pub, BIG welcome. BIG portions. And now an attempt at originality! I stayed here for a training weekend and had a lovely run around the Yorkshire dales. After running 16 miles I like comfort. Comfortable rooms, comfort food and comfortable surroundings as I wind down. Insert a tick in all 3 boxes. The room I stayed in was...

Visited last night.. Very friendly Host Tom who made us feel very welcome.. Roaring fire going and a lovely cosy atmosphere. Hubby had the fish pie, I had the lamb, both came piping hot with lots of veg and both large portions. Very very tasty. Sticky toffee pudding and Ginger Sponge to finish off... Proper pub grub at its best!...

Me and my partner stayed Friday - Sunday for a little break and had a wonderful time! It was located brilliantly for exploring the North Yorkshire Dales and the room was perfect for us with tea/coffee facilities and an en-suite shower. The breakfast is beyond amazing, as are the meals in the pub itself. We ate there both nights and...

True this is the only pub in the village with 3 rooms to let but its all you need for a short stay B & B. Small menu but good popular food. Real ale beers at £3 a pint cant be knocked. I found the locals and the owner very friendly. If I was a real ale drinker I would...

I rarely give negative feedback but For such a small and very friendly village it's surprising that the only pub in the village wasn't very welcoming. Food is served as and when we found out. We visited a couple of years ago and the pub served good food every night I am not sure what has changed but it lacked...

I am sorry to hear that you did not find us very welcoming when you last visited. With due respect however our food service is not on an 'as and when' basis but six nights per week over the Summer. For the last two years we have not provided a 'food service' on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings between September and...
