I just spent the past 2 weeks at the Donkey Den Guest House and had an absolutely wonderful time there. My accommodations were lovely and clean with a gorgeous view of the ocean. There's nothing more peaceful then sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine or your morning coffee and staring into the ocean and watching a spectacular...

I have been staying at the Donkey Den annually for seven years and am already making my plans for next years visit. Having traveled the world I understand the wide variety of accommodations one experiences when traveling. The Donkey Den never fails to exceed my expectations. This gem of a place is clean, safe, has a great location, and reflects...

We had a wonderful stay at the Donkey Den. We left with such good memories. Made many friends of Staff and customers. The Sunday Brunch is a do not miss. Got a wealth of good information and help. Linda the owner is very sweet and helpful. She even transported us to grocery store and to Airport when leaving. And she...

Agree with VTOWNZEN. This is not the Donkey Den I know either. We stayed there last year, and the only reason we did not stay there this year was because they had no openings while we were there. Yes, there are a lot of rescue animals there, and if you have no tolerance of animals who just climb up in...

I have no idea where the two people who just gave bad reviews of Donkey Den stayed, but that is not the Donkey Den I have stayed in for the last two months. My husband and I leave In three days and it feels like I am leaving my second home. As I set here in Baily, looking out at...

Pros: +Excellent, friendly, and helpful staff +Great location/views +Fabulous breakfasts done by Myra and her staff (excellent food, very reasonable prices) Linda (owner) was very helpful. She picked us up from the airport, brought us a sandwich in case we were hungry knowing the stores were closed, and even took us into town to get groceries the next day. She...

I'm going to break this up in two sections: people and animals because that's really the two main and conflicting aspects of the Donkey Den. People: Linda, the owner; Juan, the manager; a wide assortment of young international volunteers that work for a bed and a meal; a group of expats that reside there and close by; and the Ecuadorian...

This is the place to be if you want to relax. Lovely hostel with nice staff and owner. The room are clean and really big. More like a apartment. Bring groceries if you want to cook your own lunch and dinner. But you also have restaurants along the beach. And a great breakfast at the hostel! Best place in Ecuador!

I was just passing through and decided to grab breakfast. I recommend the breakfast burrito, but everything on the menu looked good. The Donkey Den has a nice view of the beach in a relaxing environment. Note: There are lot's of cats and some dogs, so factor that into your personal preferences.

Nice selection of food on the menu so you know that kids will find something they like. Good coffee. Staff from around the world are easy going and courteous. Great place to find folks traveling all over the world, that have good stories and can have a thoughtful conversation. If you like cats, dogs, good food and the chance to...
