This hotel was very reasonably priced, clean and well staffed. They had just opened a new spa and gym, and it was quite impressive. I visited the spa several times, it was always clean and staffed. The restaurant service was excellent, but the food was mediocre.

Stayed at Himalaya hotel in Kathmandu for one week on a business trip. The hotel is ok, but would benefit from a major renovation. Service at the reception and the restaurant is friendly and good, but you notice that the training is probably slightly different from international well known hotel brands. Beds are comfortable; there is a pool and a...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights before switching to a different hotel. During that time, we moved rooms 3 times. Our first room was a "junior suite" on the 5th floor. When we walked into the room, the first thing we noticed was the smell. The room(s) smell musty and moldy, and the windows are...

I emailed a couple of hotels for quotes, and the Himalaya Hotel was the only one to respond. After some quick responses, the hotel reservation was made and arrangements were made for my pick up at Kathmandu International Airport very efficiently. I arrived on March 5th, 2016 in evening for my 4-night-5-day trip. As you exit the airport, literally hundreds...

Hotel Himalaya is located on a busy road of Kathmandu. There are five floors with ground floor housing a spacious lobby, bar and restaurant. Rooms were specious too, about 300 sq ft in area including bathroom. Toiletries were limited to basic soap and shampoo. Coffee maker, electronic safe, hair drier and a medium size flat screen TV were provided. Beds...

Althugh not central in Kathmandu, close enough for that not to be problem. We stayed there a total of three nights; two nights on arrival and one night before depature after a trip to the Chitwan. Rooms OK and staff were pleasant. The niggles: telephones did not work in either room we stayed in and in one room the safe...

It's difficult to give a bad review when restaurant staff are so good. Also, it is interesting to note that management haven't replied to any criticism of this hotel. That's because they are zombies! The back door to the pool is covered in pigeon krap. I told the management....no action, zombies. Other than that I had a good stay, bathroom...

Excellent location -- set back far enough from the main road that noise isn't a problem. Beautiful grounds -- swimming pool and gardens. Good gym. The staff is the real gem of this hotel -- helpful and always smiling. Breakfast buffet is varied and plentiful. Stayed here for 3 weeks in January. Will definitely come back!

Stayed a month at the hotel. Rooms are ok, with safety boxes, showers/bath work great, really hot showers and electricity all the time (very important in Nepal right now). But bed mattress isnt great. Could change. Housekeepers are super kind but if u do not put "do not disturb" in the morning, they'll start knocking, asking for laundry from 8am....
