My family and I spent a night here en route to il de re. My only disappointment was that we had not booked to stay for longer. Julie and Rick are wonderful hosts and have created a small corner of true paradise. The house is absolutely beautiful. We had 2 adjoining rooms for myself, husband and 2 children; a perfect...

We have just spent three wonderful days at La Frelonniere. Julie & Rick are consummate hosts & we were made to feel very welcome. The house & gardens are a delight and the pool was very welcome in the 30 degree heat. Every evening we had dinner in the garden, great food (I especially enjoyed the prawn risotto), good wine...

La Frelonniere is a larg old stone farm house, restored beautifully and very tastefully by the owners, people who understand true hospitality and who love the rural French way of life. My upstairs bedroom overlooked the georgeous garden. It was large and very comfortably furnished. The modern bathroom was adjacent. We were treated to a beautifully cooked and presented dinner,...

We stayed here just for one night on our way down to the South of France and wished we were able to stay for longer. Julie and Richard have created a beautiful home, stylish and warm, full of quirky and beautiful objects and furniture. It's obviously been a labour of love. They are wonderful hosts, chatty, charming and Julie's freshly...

We stayed with Julie and Rick during our recent French driving holiday with the intention that they would be our base for a few days to explore the surrounding area. And what a wonderful place it was to do just that. Our hosts were so friendly and accommodating that even in the short period we were with them it didn’t...

Wonderful bed & breakfast -place in the middle of nowhere and still close the village. Very beautiful french garden with pool. The house itself is impressive and beautifully renovated. Remember to ask to see the pictures from the beginning! La Frelonniere is a lovely decorated spacey nest for a romantic escape. Light dinner and simple breakfast. The owners are very...

In this peaceful corner of the Bocage Vendéen lies a haven of beauty carefully and meticulously created by Julie and Rick. La Frelonnière is a labour of love, a reflection of the joie de vivre and a catalogue of excellent taste. The place is filled with a multitude of antiques and new, objets trouvées and memorabillias. Wherever your eyes set...

Wowsers! This is just staggering beautiful and comes with everything and more - it's textbook perfection in just about every way. The house is just stunning; a wonderful building in and of itself, but is fantastically presented and comes with everything you could ask of from a B&B. Both our room and ensuite bathroom were clean and comfortable. The garden...

We visited first in 2009, vowed to return and La Frelonniere really was just as magical second time round! Rick and Jules are superb hosts (Rick can be mistaken for a Frenchman!). Jules' cooking is sublime and everything about the house makes you want to live there, no question! Don't take my word for it, go and see for yourselves!...
