What a delight it was to stay at Vogar Farm. The rooms were very comfortable, and had a lovely vista. We were located at the end of a block, so had a particularly nice view. This was the best breakfast of our whole stay (the gravalax was particularly good). It is also a fabulous place to have dinner. This is a great place to stay!
The food was delicious and the place is lovely. We Got dinner and breakfast and it was both delicious. The place is Very moderen and you have the cows right next to you. The service is also Very Good and the owner is so sweet..
We stayed at Vigafjos Gursthouse and got the nicest room number 7. We where stunned by the service, room and Nature around us. The room was incredible and the food; WAUW! It was so Good. So five stars for this perfectly overligger stay!
We spent a night on our tour around Iceland - and very much enjoyed the stay at Vogafjós. The personnel was friendly, the cabins nice and cosy ...and the restaurant very good. At arrival to Vogafjós we were a bit sceptical ...but for no reason. Go into the reception and you will notice that Vogafjós is more than the standard farm guesthouse. Do have your dinner at the restaurant. We recommend the farm platter, the rubarb cocktail, the lamb shank and the skyr mousse.
The rooms are small and basic but work for 1 or 2 nights. They could use a mini fridge to help store items while on the Ring Road journey, but this working farm is a fun spot to stop and enjoy all the things to see in the Myvatn area. It is a dairy farm and you can have breakfast with a window view of the cows being milked. Sheep roam free and it all makes for a picturesque stop in an area that has so much to see in easy driving distances. The meals were very good but pricey as is all of Iceland. Breakfast was good but missed the coffee machines at most other stops that allowed you to have a cappuccino or latte. Staff was very friendly and helpful The front desk books discounted admission to the Myvatn Nature Baths.
