This campground, although seeming pretty, is one of worst (of not the least friendly) in Iceland. The beautiful grounds look like a manicured golf course, but it ends there. I can only assume by all the excessive signage, lack of maintenance and generally low grade of the facilities that it is owned by one of the most stingy and anal...

This place place has got views that render WiFi obsolete, showers included, a huge range of discounts on the nearby activities, cooking facilities, loads of washing space, two bathroom houses and is virtually the start of all the hiking trails. Note that both bathrooms are unisex. The tourist center and supermarket are just across the road.

We stayed for one night and camped alongside the lake - it was spectacular! There's a kitchen tent and nice showers. While the host was firm, we didn't get the sense that he was mean or rude. More that he was trying to help us all experience the camp better. If he hadn't been so firm about when the kitchen...

My girlfriend and I spend one night here and where greeted by a very unfriendly owner. The campground was busy, but dirty. It supplies basic needs such as (unisex) toilets, but the general tendens is a dirty and expensive one.

The Owner of this camping does tourist "hunting" at night time. In an very ugly, rude, impolite and horrible way, he hit on our van at 4 am in the morning saying "get out of my property" "we start to hate tourist" "open the window, I am not going to kill you, at least now".... In a scary way, we...

The campsite has a beautiful setting on the edge of the lake. There were plenty of midge bugs in the air when I camped there in mid-July. However, they were not that bothersome because they don't bite and they did not get into my tent. The campsite was packed by the evening with probably close to 100 tents. Co-ed bathrooms...

This campsite was recommended to us and so we had high hopes for camping here. On the positive side, the location is beautiful -- literally right next to the lake. There were also facilities available: a kitchen tent with stove-top burners, several outdoor sinks, a small building with indoor sinks and toilets, and a couple of indoor showers at no...

We spent one night here in late May. We checked in at the reception and were made very welcome by the warden. We had a camping van and were told to park in a gravelled area which was basically a car park for campers in tents as we did not need electricity. The outlook was other parked vehicles. Tent pitches...

I saw before my trip that all reviews for this campsite are divided into two parts: excellent /WOW or terrible/worst. So it was very interesting to visit it by my own. As for me the main thing that the owner is very gentle to nature and his property. It is quite normal considering a quantity of guests in a high...

this campground was way overcrowded, literally hundreds of campers, lines for the bathrooms exceeded a half hour and there were no indoor facilities at all. And it was the most expensive of all the campground we stayed at (and they only took cash). Would not recommend, there are better options in the area.
