We stayed at three different hotels during our visit to Iceland and although this hotel was basic and in need of some TLC, we can honestly say it was the best one. The reason being was firstly the staff who were lovely... so friendly and helpful. Secondly, the food was amazing. Great scenery was also on offer. The hot tubs...

Visited Frost and Fire for 3 nights in January. We were shown around all the relevant parts of the hotel and looked forwards to using the outdoor hot tub even in the freezing temperatures. Rooms are relatively basic but the bed was large and comfortable. Bathroom small but functional. The rooms have a balcony which overlooks the river and has...

We searched around for different places to stay to keep driving manageable. Frost and Fire worked well for us on a 5 night stay; 2 nights in Reykjavik, 2 nights at Frost & Fire and last night at the Blue Lagoon. Frost and Fire is in a small town with the main activity being walking and sight seeing. Or great...

Lovely chalet-like rooms with super beds and each with a verandah overlooking the river and hill...... idyllic. Add in the tea or coffee making facilities (get your own milk!!!), and a cuppa in bed watching the light increase is a joy. Good bathroom, a little lobby with hooks for wet clothes( dry in minutes with the ferocious heating, needed) and...

We stayed at this hotel in late November. Its a good 90km from the airport (Keflavik) so you'll need a car (free parking at this hotel) We enjoyed this hotel- it was basic but had everything you could need as a base camp to explore Iceland. We wanted to stay in the countryside away from the light pollution of the...

Great location to stay for touring the golden circle and beyond. Stayed here in January while touring the above and along the south east coast. The rooms are great & cosy, plenty room for all our hiking stuff. Outdoor pool and hot tubs are epic and really something special. An ideal hotel for staying in rural Iceland! The restaurant is...

We really enjoyed staying at frost and fire in January. We loved the remote location and the views from our room (room 20) were fabulous! We had the river outside the room and the mountains just on our door stop. The hot tubs were great, the staff were friendly and the breakfast had lots of options to cater for all....

This hotel was very basic but quite adequate. The views of the River Varma are spectacular. Our first day we crossed over the bridge next to the hotel hiked the mountain path through the hotsprings. The view was beautiful and it was peaceful and uncrowded but it was January and I suspect that it's much busier in warm weather. The...

My wife and I stayed here for the last night of our trip in January 2016. We had an amazing time and would definitely return. PROS: very friendly staff, heated pools & hot tubs, large rooms, beautiful scenery, breakfast included, great location CONS: some items in the room were slightly outdated

As with all our trips we checked trip advisor before booking and were slightly hesitant after some of the more negative feedback. However found a good deal so decided to go with it. We're so pleased we did. Due to a late flight and fairly nerve-wracking drive in a snowstorm we arrived at 9.30pm having missed our dinner reservation completely...
