We were touring the southern area of Iceland and wanted to stay somewhere away from the city. Our tour guide said that Hveragerdi would be a great town to stop for the night and one of the hotels he suggested was Frost and Fire. We...More
This place was outstanding-in a country where great hotels are few and far between. We had a large and comfortable room. The front desk very welcoming and friendly. And we had the best dinner of our vacation at their restaurant.
We had a charming room with a lovely view of the stream and the hills behind the hotel. Watching the northern lights from the hot tub was one of the coolest experiences. The restaurant was very good and everyone at the hotel was lovely. It...More

The easiest way to get here from the airport is to take a taxi but of course that is also the most expensive way. We have a fixed price with a local taxi driver, with him airport transfer costs 27.000 ISK. You can also take the local bus from the airport to our town of Hveragerði. The bus stops 15 minutes ( walking) away from our hotel, webpage: straeto.is and bsi.is
You can also contact Iceland activities, a local tour operator. I know they pick people up from the airport but unfortunately I do not know how much it might cost. You can contact them directly trough their webpage: icelandactivities.is
You could also check with grey line the bus company, they used to have buses that stopped in Hveragerði, their webpage is: grayline.is
Have a lovely day
