Decent value for the money compared to similar guesthouses in Iceland. Contrary to earlier reviews, this place does not have a kitchen available for use by guests. Rooms were dated. Wifi signal was strong.

I was pleasantly surprised with this guesthouse. The room was not big and the facilities limited though they do have a hottub. It was a good first night location as is close to the main road. It was quiet

Stayed in one of the guest houses, a single room with table and chairs small sink comma two twin beds and it was just great. Small kitchen to use which had everything I needed. Friendly staff and adorable breakfast room and living room. 2 Hot tubs that were right in the middle of the courtyard but surrounded by wooden fencing... More

Our double room with private bathroom was basic, but fine. The room was clean and the beds were nice. Breakfast was lovely; home-cured fish, vanilla skyr, a nice selection of fresh bread, and several home-made jams and spreads. Personnel was friendly and helpful. Great value for money!

The only good thing about this place is the breakfast and the guest lounge where we spent a lot of time because of the awful bedroom and bathroom. Flies innumerable, mold and mildew. Stay in Selfoss instead. There are several nice looking hotels.

We took a school trip to Iceland with 10 students and 3 staff. We stayed at the Hjardarbol Guesthouse. We had an amazing stay. Our hostess was lovely and sorted all our problems. The dinners she made each night were AMAZING. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. The accommodation is fairly ordinary but the welcome and food made it... More

The room was small and narrow so that beds were placed along the wall the one after the other one.Not really a comfortable design of the dimensions of the room. But other rooms might be larger and I might have been given this one because I was single. The whole setting gives the impression that some renovation could be necessary. This... More

I don't always post reviews on Trip Advisor but I thought that previous reviews of this place were rather one-sided. We thought it was poor. Our room (20) was too small and in desperate need of modernisation, particularly the bathroom which was straight out of the 1970s. Our two boys had a bigger room but on arrival their bathroom had... Small guesthouse run by Helga and her husband. Very friendly hosts. A few miles out of Selfoss just off the main road. Room was nice in a hut of about four other rooms. Outside pathways to other huts and main block. No TV in the room or the small lounge area in the entrance to the hut. Mid summer so... More
