It is 3 years since we were last here and things have improved. We have blackout curtains and free wifi in the rooms. The breakfasts are better with croissants and waffles and butter pieces and good instant coffee and tea. The beds were comfy and the showers were good although the floor did get very wet. There is no coffee...

Location is pretty good for sightseeing if you are passing through, nothing fancy with the rooms, they are good sized, but comfortable enough. I would recommend for a one night stay if you are in the area

The Hotel Edda flags greeted us when we arrived - otherwise, it would have been a bit confusing as this used to be a school. Interesting set-up and we did have to fight with 2 busloads of other tourists. The room was sterile but the largest we had stayed in during our entire trip. And the bed and bedding -...

We had a decent sized room - once you get over the school feel it is great. Convenient location for the area, although there are limited options for eating in the evening. Breakfast was good, and free wifi worked well.

More of less between the National Park of Thingvellir and Geysir, this accommodation is conveninently located if you drive, as you will be at 30 minutes of both attractions. The hotel is likely a dormitory for students the rest of the year, and open to guests on Summer. Rooms are very basic, but clean. Bed and sheets are of good...

The hotel looks what it is from September to May, a boarding school. It even smells like one when you enter the lobby. The room we where allocated was large, but bare. Linoleum floor, 2 beds, 2 small desks plated by linoleum, and 2 hard backed chairs. It look all worn down. As we wanted to have the window open...

We were exhausted afer 4 days trekking, and nights on the ground, through the mountain range leaving from and returning to Laugarvatn. This was described as a college prep boarding school during school year. The hotel rooms were dorm rooms, but didn't matter, we slept great.

Nice, clean and quiet hotel in a beautiful landscape. Boarding school in winter, hotel in summer and fine facilities as bathroom for each room, common living room with TV and possibilities for nice breakfast and dinner.

We stayed two nights here early July. My parents had a room with private bathroom and we had the shared one with a mattress on the floor for our 7 year old. If you bring a sleeping bag for your children they don't charge for the mattress otherwise it is 3000isk. We took the breakfast as it was convenient. We...

This was our first Edda experience and ended up being a great choice. This hotel is not very close to anything but is also not far from everything we wanted to do in the area (Myvatn, Husavik, Akureyri, etc.) so it ended up being perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shared bathroom was not an issue at all....
