We chose ION as our pre final dinner venue. The service was attentive, food selection was just fine, only the wine selection is very overpriced, compared to some other venues of same quality. Anyhow, from the starters, lamb shank, arctic char, desert of wild berries,...More

There is alot to do in the area. Make sure that you have a really good map. Driving is easy, but I would not really recommend going out for dinner as distances are quite long and roads will be very dark. We did have lunch at Frioheimar in Reykholt. You will need a reservation. Delicious and interesting. All the Golden Circle sights are in relative proximity. Ask the women at the Ion front desk for suggestions and directions. They were very knowledgeable.
