Lambastadir Guesthouse is quiet and modern, farm holiday guesthouse. It is located in the center of South Iceland, by highway number one, only 45 minutes drive from Reykjavik. The guesthouse is family owned and our special pleasure is to inform our guests about where to go, what to do and to help guests to organize their holidays. We feel our guesthouse perfectly located for those wanting to visit historical places and Iceland´s unique nature, for example The Golden Falls, Geysir, Thingvellir National Park, Landmannalaugar, Seljalandsfoss water falla and Westman Islands. Nearby is the village Selfoss where you can find restaurants, swimming pool, golf course, banks and magazines and Reykajvik City is only 45 minutes drive from the guesthouse. Numerous activities in the neighborhood as horse riding, hiking, fishing, glacier walking, kayak boating, river rafting, snorkeling, bird watching and snow mobile. In the guesthouse are eleven non smoking comfortable rooms with private bathroom and shower. Wi-Fi internet access is free of charge. Sauna an outdoor hot tub filled with warm natural water, excellent for relaxation, are free. The communal dining room features tea/coffee making facilities. Sheep and horses are in fence close to the guesthouse. Gooses, chickens and ducks are free on our farm so our feeling is the guesthouse is family friendly. Breakfast buffet is served in the morning.

We had our best stay here in our 10 days trip. The host was very kind, we had pur keys ready at arrival for self check in, hot water ready in case we wanted some tea, the hot bubbling ready to be jumped in :) in every room was a guest informational book about the guesthouse and an extra about several tours that could be done from there. Rooms very clean and with enough space, comfortable beds. The breakfast absolutely delicious, with self made fresh pancakes. For those ho love animals it is a perfect place, since it is a fa with horses (very friendly) and sheep etc. Also a great location for the Northern Lights, since it is in the middle of a field. We were lucky to see them and it was amazing! Totally recommend the place!

My wife and I had a fabulously restful/peaceful time at Lambastadir. The views, the environment, the feel of the whole place is one of quiet calm. It's a PERFECT place to stop after doing the Golden Circle, especially if you're on your way to Vik.

Check in process was a breeze and the room was clean/quiet/comfortable with a view that just made us sigh. We only stayed one night, but really wished we could've stayed longer, especially after my wife fell in LOVE with the two baby lambs wandering the property and greeting visitors.

Finally, the breakfast included was a beautiful spread that left you filled and satisfied to your heart's content. Almar and Svana—the owners & keepers—were kind, friendly, and helpful as you could want. THANK YOU!!!!!

We'll hopefully be back some day. We miss Iceland already.

We enjoyed 2 nights in this comfortable, cosy little guesthouse just off the road in the middle of sheep pasture. A nice couple runs the place, which is obviously popular with international visitors and hikers, in a good location to do things in various directions. There is a common area (where breakfast is served) with tables & chairs, microwave, some dishware (where you can also sit in the evening if you’re eating take-out food, as we did). There is a cute sauna (wooden tube shape) out back next to a deck with a wonderful hot tub (accommodating 4-6 people), which we also enjoyed. The good breakfast included yogurts, cheese, meats, waffles, coffee, cereals, etc. Highly recommend!

I was looking forward to visiting some of their animals on the farm, but by the time we drove the Golden Circle, and stopped in Selfoss for a good dinner, it was dark. There was a group of friendly Germans who were visiting on the porch, and we all chatted for a while. They volunteered to let me know if the northern lights appeared, they did, and knocked on my door so I wouldn't miss them. Ten the owner showed up to make sure everyone was aware there were lights. It was great. We moved on the next day, but it's a very comfortable place to stay, and the breakfast was plentiful. They have slippers for you to wear inside, and a large shoe rack, to park your dirty shoes on.

We flew into Reykjavik and spent one night in several guest houses along the Southern coast. There were two I would recommend to anyone wanting to really experience Iceland; Lambastadir Guesthouse and The Garage. It was wonderful driving up and being greeted by 4 beautiful Icelandic horses: The room was a nice size, shower hot, breakfast good and the geothermal hot tub wonderful after a day of hiking in the snow. Wish we would have reserved two nights.

It was a beautifully appointed guesthouse on a lovely farm with great views of the surrounding area. Very close to restaurants and the city of Selfoss. Our room was extremely comfortable and breakfast was included. We were able to walk around the farm the next morning and observe all the animals (baby lambs❤️) including the horse in the field opposite the guesthouse. We had the use of a sauna and hot tub at the guesthouse and there was a common room where we met other guests. I would highly recommend this property.

農家でもあるので、馬との交流もできました!裏庭にはきれいなホットタブとサウナがあります。玄関で靴を脱ぐので、ハイキング後でも廊下や部屋は綺麗に保てます。

The guesthouse was very close to the town (where restaurants and gas stations were) and the Golden Circle. The backyard with hot tub and sauna was so nice and clean. The hosts are very friendly and we were able to pet their horses (they will walk up to you!). I would stay there again not just to rest but also enjoy!

We just been on a 3 day adventure trip on the southcoast of iceland ending up as far as the Glacial lagoon and instead of staying there and having to drive 5 hours in the morning we decided to drive 4 hours in the evening and stay the last night at this little Gem before going back to the hustle and bustle if real life and reykjavik.

We love it here, the room was clean, cosy and had eveything we could need. The hot tub and the sauna was also just ready, warm and clean perfect for sore muscles. There are no tv´s here which was a first, but we actually like that, we just sat down in the common area and started playing cards and interact.

Everything here had the "at grandmothers house" feeling even the wonderful tasty breakfast!

We were looking for a unique place between Reykjavik and Vik and this place fit the bill. It is just off of Hwy 1, 10 mins east of a city I can't pronounce but which has good restaurants. It is convenient to a lot of things and we probably could have stayed multiple nights.

They have a hot tub and a sauna, but we didn't use the sauna. The blackout curtains work but you need to be able to open the window for ventilation; the curtains block the air but not the highway noise. Still, it was a nice room and very clean and cozy. Each room has its own full bathroom.

We didn't see anyone other than one other guest family. We unfortunately had to leave before breakfast to get back to the airport but I think we would stay here again. We would definitely visit Iceland again. What a great adventure!!!

We stayed here our first night in Iceland as I didn’t want to stay in Reykjavik. Location is great being right off RT 1. Arrived late in the evening but that’s no issue here. A small bag with our room keys and general instructions were left on the check-in desk. Hosts live right behind the farmhouse if needed. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Breakfast buffet was at 7:30 and was outstanding. Great location to start our Golden Circle Road trip. Kerid Crater was our first stop and was about 20 minutes away.

Also, stayed here on our sixth night in Iceland after spending the day in Landmannalaugar.

Dear Nrelam. Thank you for your request. It is good to have plan but it needs in your case to be flexible. On our website you can see our suggestion about day tours from our guesthouse, see the website for Lambastadir guesthouse I would stay for 2 or 3 days on the area where Guesthouse Lambastadir is and then 2 or 3 days close to Skaftafell National park. I would not suggest horse ride for 86 year old lady. We are operating jeep tour company, Iceland South Coast Travel, and it can be interesting for you to go to the highland one day, to Landmannalaugar. Hope this will help, if you need more info contact me back. Brgds. Almar Sigurðsson Guesthouse Lambastadir
