Beautiful B&B in a fabulous location. Lovely spacious room, big bathroom with full size bath, soft, fluffy white towels . Good breakfast. Secure carparking in lovely grounds. Close to Mullingar , ideal location for visiting the lakes. We had a wonderful view of Lake Derravaragh from our bedroom, Bonnie , the owner was very pleasant and helpful. Will be returning.

Crookedwood House is a lovely country home in the center of county Westmeath. It is only one hour from Dublin so if you're looking to enjoy the city and the country during your trip, this is a really nice home to stay at. There is a function room which would be fit for weddings or parties. I stayed on a Saturday night and was disappointed to find that there is no Sunday roast or restaurant on the premise anymore even though there is a restaurant website and the updated website reads "we provide a variety of foods. However, we pride ourselves in being able to provide healthy food". Unfortunately there is only an average traditional Irish breakfast, nothing to pride or boast about..

Crookedwood House is by far the nicest B&B I have ever stayed in, not to mention the wonderful hospitality we received from Bonnie and her husband.

Our room was spectacular, enchanting, full of charisma and with beautiful views overlooking the lake. The king-sized bed was impossible to get out of it was so comfy and not to mention the large flat screen TV. The room was equipped with all facilities from hairdryer to kettle. The bathroom was also huge and contained everything needed for a relaxing stay from shower caps to shampoo.

The breakfast was beautiful, cooked to perfection, whether full Irish or omelette all accompanied by juice and tea/coffee. Bonnie's children were also wonderful hostesses on all 3 mornings catering to our needs.

Our trip was based around the body & soul festival which Bonnie kindly dropped us to on arrival saving us at least 30 euro she was also very kind in providing us with rain gear as the Irish weather continued to be mixed.

I can not recommend this accommodation enough, it was absolutely spectacular, the perfect relaxing weekend and only a 10 minute drive to the town where we enjoyed a fabulous meal.

Thank you Bonnie for everything, we look forward to returning in the near future.

Arrived sat at gate for ten minutes before they let us in . Then told we’d to be out between 10 and 11am . Oh I thought B&B was bed and Breakfast 🍳 no no no just bed. 84Euro for two . Friends that where booked in sleep on . They knocked the door told them to get out it was ten past 11 . I would say . I like to relax when I’m away. But breakfast is important. That’s why it’s a B&B . Am I wrong . Oh our room did not look like any of the photos 🤢🤢🤢🤢I read all the other great reviews was so disappointed 😔

I went to stay in this crooked wood house with the intention of staying for a few months, depending on the job I had in st Loman’s Hospital
Mary and Martin who run the place assured me that I need to give 4 weeks notice if I wanted to leave as I wasn’t sure I will like the job or not
2 days later I told them that I will need my deposit (600€) back as I am leaving within 2 weeks and they can keep a month rent plus 80 Euro’s for electricity and heating which I wouldn’t use anyways
They became very unprofessional and refused to refund my deposit
I would say that pleas stay away from these horrible money grabbing scammers
They have stolen my hard earned cash
They also didn’t provide any bins to put the garbage and said that go to nearest Tesco’s to dump any rubbish
You have been warned

Stayed here for 3 nights and it was very relaxing. We had the room that over looked the lake. Lovely well kept house. Bonnie and Martin are excellent hosts. Breakfast was lovely, hot and fresh ingredients locally sourced. We were made feel very welcome and nothing was to much trouble. My husband left his shoes after him and we phoned them and they posted them to our house. THANK YOU. We will definitely be back.

We were a hen party of 19 who stayed in Crookedwood House in June. We stayed self-catering. Martin and Bonnie met us on arrival and talked us through everything we needed to know. They were so welcoming and helpful. The house itself is beautiful and so nicely furnished. There are spectacular views over the lake which is amazing to watch as the sun sets. There is so much space and exactly what is needed for a hen party. The bedrooms are gorgeous and each is ensuite which was a great help with 19 ladies to get ready for a night out! I would recommend Crookedwood to anyone and I plan to come back to stay as a guest of the B&B. Martin and Bonnie were always on hand if we had a problem but left us to our own devices. 5 star all round – thanks a mil!

Crookedwood House will be one of our favorite Irish stops in the future. Bonny (hope I spelt right) and her family made us feel welcome. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated and the breakfast is great. Its a beautiful rural location with superb views of the countryside. This is a hidden gem in a lovely part of Ireland. It is also great value for money! highly recommended
