Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and well kept hotel. Lots of places to eat and drink on site, and in local area. Room was really nice with lovely view of the tennis courts and the sea. Enjoyed the Infinity Pool on top of the holiday, definitely worth a visit. Well equipped gym, fun game of paddle tennis and a dip in the indoor pool kept us busy. Throughly enjoyed sitting by the pool in the sunshine, reading my book. Well placed hotel to walk to the beach, just a little steep, but cheating with a Uber back up after dinner and a few drinks.

This is a nice hotel and the food is great. Things to note :- Even though it’s part of the hotel, the beach club is €120 for 2 people for 1 day. €60 of this you can use for food and drinks at the beach club. If you bypass the beach club, and go straight onto the beach, you can use the hotel beds at the discounted rate of €30 for 2. Non hotel beds, very close by, are €14 for 2. The roof top pool is €120 for 2 people for the whole day. Again, €60 of this can be offset against food and drinks on that day. The roof top pool doesn’t open until 11:30, so not really a whole day. At the normal pool, which you can use for free, if the member of staff giving out towels isn’t on duty, you can go up 2 floors to the med restaurant and get your towels there. The bedroom is very open plan, without a separate bathroom. The bath tub is in bedroom, the shower cubicle opens right next to the bed, and the sinks are also in the bedroom. The shower is see through and offers little privacy. The toilet is not soundproof. In addition, our the seal on the shower door was inadequate and the water ran out of the shower and under the bed. However, I’m assuming that was unique to our room. The gym is great and can be used without paying extra. Reception staff are at best disinterested, some of them are rude. There are not enough people on reception so you always have to queue. Expect the member of staff to pick up the phone when you get to the front. They don’t speak on the phone, just hold it to their ear. The restaurant staff are great and the food is amazing. The advertised bus takes 20 minutes to get to and from beach. It doesn’t run during cocktail hour.
5 stars to the restaurants, 1 star to reception. We were there for 6 days and I wouldn’t go back.

Perfect weekend at this magnificent hotel. Stayed at this hotel with my wife, not our first stay and not our last.
Notorious improvement under new management, and this was obvious as soon as we arrived. We were greeted by two hotel porters, very polite and wearing new uniforms, something that caught my attention, because it was the first improvement that I noticed. I want to recognize especially two of them, Diego, and Carlos for always asking us during our stay if everything was OK or how could they assist us, portraying that image of high-class hotel with outstanding service.
Located in a residential area away from the busy crowded location, but close enough to enjoy the beach, restaurants, and stores. Well connected to reach the highway within a few minutes and travel to the surrounding cities or the airport.
With several pools, various restaurants, beach club, Spa, Fitness center, etc. this hotel has everything you need to make your stay more enjoyable and memorable.
During our stay we were booked in a King Leiro Suite with Seaview, and this was very spacious. A modern upgrade, welcomed by guests who choose to stay in these types of rooms. Bed was very comfortable, plenty of pillows, big screen TV and everything you need, including ironing board and iron.
Breakfast area is very big, allowing you to enjoy breakfast with your family and carry out a conversation viewing the pool area. Plenty of food to choose from, eggs, pancakes, omelettes, fruit, etc.
I travel a lot and this Spa is one of the best. We also booked two massages, a sports massage with Mary Luz and a Swedish massage with Mari Carmen and highly recommend these two ladies.
The infinity pool is located on the top floor and offers stunning views. With a bar and restaurant there is no need to leave the location while enjoying one of the many Balinese beds. The bar/restaurant personnel were very nice and made every effort possible to make our stay even more enjoyable.
I want to recognize one person in particularly. Prior to my arrival I had been in contact with Ms. Samantha Louise Kuczynski, Guest Experience Manager at Hotel Higueron. I had some questions and wanted to enjoy my stay, and I must say that Samantha not only met every single one of my requests, but she went well beyond exceeding each one of them. She made my reservations, ensured that our questions were answered, helped in every possible way and most importantly followed up to ensure that everything went as planned.
Hotel employees like Samantha most definitely have a huge impact on your stay, and because of her and employees like her, we look forward on returning to this hotel. Thank you all, for your assistance.

A beautiful hotel however there are some underlying issues which seriously need to be addressed. If this is a true 5 star hotel, they need to be flexible with check in times and check out times. They need to be able to be reactive to issues which occur (their computer systems went down) but were adamant check in will only occur after 3pm. They say the rooms need to be cleaned which is understandable however why are cleaners cleaning rooms at 8am when guests are trying to sleep. The constant slamming of the doors and fire alarm testing at 9am. Cleaners will slam doors, have loud conversations with their colleagues and make unnecessary noise. When I eventually arrived into my room which I was told was cleaned, there was blonde hair on the bed and in the toilet and other parts of the floor. Don’t the cleaners check the work they have done? The toilet seat was installed at the incorrect angle. You need to run the shower for at least 5 minutes before the hot water is available. The bed was very comfortable and views across the sea were magnificent. There are cranes in the distance but didn’t bother me tbh. The rooftop pool could be marketed better by concierge. Some evenings it was completely empty. The main pool bar has a different pricing for drinks from the Bali beds pool area and totally different pricing to the beach bar which is a shuttle bus away or 20 min walk. The food and drinks at the beach bar was superb and worth a visit. Pricing for Bali beds and sun loungers can vary from €100-€120 depending who you speak to. If you are looking for a true 5 star service, this place is not it. The hotel is definitely worthy of 4 stars which needs refinement to attain 5 star service in my opinion. The views from the room are remarkable but it’s the small attention to detail which can be annoying to some. The gym is first class and lots of Technogym equipment. Improved signage to the correct car park would help. Bring a compass to locate how to get from the car park to the reception.

This was easily the most disappointing Hilton Curio room I have stayed in. I reserved one of the largest rooms (77sqm) in the hotel itself (not including the property’s villas), a King Panoramic Suite Seaview with two levels. When we entered the room (in the middle of summer) both levels’ air conditioning were turned off and the bottom floor was 28 Degrees C, with the second floor 30 degrees. It took over 5 hours after turning on the a/c before the room was habitable. The quality of the room decor was not up to Curio standards—it looked and felt cheaply decorated. The spiral staircase in our room that led up to the main bedroom was not firmly secured and very wobbly, and its handrails did not feel firmly secured to the walls. The second floor living space was simply weirdly laid out. The sink was mounted in a corner of the room, with a minuscule counter that could barely hold any toiletries besides the hand towels and glasses on the counter. The bedroom does not have a separate bathroom: the toilet was not in a water closet—it was out in the open behind a small wall. The water in the showers typically took 10 minutes of running at full hot before it was warm enough to step into, and even then it only was lukewarm (in a Curio?). The bars and restaurants are nice and clean. On our last morning we had breakfast in the downstairs Med restaurant at 8am, and the prepared scrambled eggs in the breakfast bar were cold. Overall, for the money I would either try the villas, or stay in another property altogether. Hilton should put some attention into the rooms—they are not up to their standard for calling a property a Curio.

Pros • Amazing food – definitely recommend the half board option. 3 course meal option every night from a set menu. • Breakfast – best we have had. A huge variety on offer. • Excellent service throughout (The Med restaurant manager was clearly liked by the staff). All staff speak good English. • Lovely pools and sunbeds. • Gym use included. • Shampoo/shower gel/conditioner/body lotion provided. • Water provided each day in rooms and coffee pods on first day. We had a bottle of cava in our room on arrival for my partners 50th birthday.
Cons • In the middle of nowhere so no option to walk to other bars or restaurants. • Expensive drinks. • Nothing going on in the evenings. Rooftop bar is a nice setting but not many people there. • I found the bed too hard and very uncomfortable (my partner was fine). Hotel provided an extra mattress topper but this didn’t do much. • Nothing is very clear in regards to what pools/restaurants/beach club use etc (please see tips below from what we found out!) • Extra charges for spa and fitness classes.
Tips • The sports club pool and med pool can be used. The rooftop pool and beach club can be used for an additional 60 Euros pp but you get 30 euros back to spend on food and drink. The beach club was nice but I didn’t think it was any nicer than the hotel pools, you were just next to the beach. I did have a massage from Sylvia which was amazing! You can also hire beach club sunbeds on the beach for 15 euro pp, but actually the beds to the left were 7 euros each. • You can upgrade half board to use at The Japo (by the Beach Club) and the bistro for 15 euros. The Japo was amazing and also included a drink! • You can get a little train down to the Beach Club and train station that does a loop throughout the day and evening. • Approx 12-15 euros in a taxi/Uber to get to Fuengirola. 30-35 euros to the airport. • 4 nights was the perfect amount of time for us to have a relax and enjoy the facilities.

My opinion is from the Spa I am delighted with your facilities where I was a few days ago. I haven't had a better experience than that. I have never been to any other spa with so much variety in its circuit: jets of all kinds, for feet, calves, buttocks, thighs, back, shoulders, knees, I don't know if I forget any... Hammocks within the spa pool, jacuzzi, apart from saunas and ice installation, as well as hot and cold pool. Tb has a normal pool, if you want to make some length. A very nice view from the installation, and everything very, very clean. To put a glue, some dryer and hair straighteners too much, would not be unwelcome.

Private beach is closed?! Was not informed of this upon booking, arriving, or even asking about the shuttle to the beach! The shuttle dropped of off at a closed entrance and I had to ask a security guard and visit two restaurants before calling the hotel to advise on a restaurant that would serve on the beach. And even that one doesn’t do table service on the beach! I booked this specifically so I could lie on a beach chair and pay for someone to bring me food / drinks and am seriously disappointed. The hotel overlooks construction and the rooms are weird. Only staying because I booked with points.
