Hotel Ipv Palace & Spa's beachfront location is a hit among many guests, who also enjoy the expansive rooms and esteemed spa. While the atmosphere is sometimes viewed as lacking in ambiance, the hotel's cleanliness is consistently applauded, with visitors finding both rooms and public areas immaculately maintained. The service is generally characterized as professional and friendly, although a few guests have experienced slower service. While some suggest the hotel provides good value and commend the food, there are calls for updates to facilities and the reduction of additional costs.

A simple 4 night break from East Mids to Fuengirola, Costa Del Sol. Jet 2. The hotel is at the far end of the beachfront about 500m from the action. Ideal. Takes 1 hour from airport to hotel on a coach. Weather 22C just right. Hotel has nice pool (cool) area. No problem getting a bed (I imagine in summer it would be a problem) no bar at the poolside. Hotel very quiet. Great promenade walking. Nice castle next door to explore (free) lots of bars and restaurants on the beachfront even in winter.
Breakfast excellent mix of hot, cold, breads, drinks. Friendly staff.
The spa area is a bit drain smelly so we did not use it (12 Euro entry)
Towels from reception with deposit against room. Room looks to have been refurbished. Nice balcony. Clean.
Overall great value, super location, nice hotel. Would return.

I wanted to travel somewhere warm by the beach, and staying in this hotel was the best decision I could have made.

The hotel is well-located just like 20 min away from Málaga airport, transportation apps can be used at a quite reasonable price. The hotel is really a palace with amazing customer service. You can feel they want to provide the best service. The people in the reception, especially the ladies, the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant, Raquel from breakfast buffet.
The hotel is walking distance to Fuengirola just by the beach, but really, you can find everything you need in the hotel: restaurants, Spa, massage, hair salon, a bar, entertainment. In the bar restaurant, I had the best octopus I've ever eaten in my life.
I just loved waking up in the morning and seeing the view of from my room. I was on the fifth floor, so I felt like it was me and the ocean.
I am really impressed with the experience, it was absolutely amazing.

If I were to suggest any point of improvement, it would be beach service. There are some beach beds just in front of the hotel which are not run by the hotel. I did rent one which is fine, but if you want to buy a drink or water, you need to walk back to the hotel. If the hotel had a proper bar by the beach, I would definitely have stayed all day long there consuming and reading a book.

We are just about to check out of this fabulous Hotel… it was our first visit and we have spent four days here. We were greeted warmly by the Receptionist on arrival at 9pm given precise route details to the building we were in. All three buildings are linked but until used to the layout it’s a little like a maze it’s doesn’t take too long to adapt. When we got into the room on the fourth floor of the Mijas building WOW what a view! But no tea/ coffee making facilities. No problem straight to Reception later on as we went to explore our surroundings dealt with a smile by the Receptionist, by the time we arrived back the items requested were in the room. Hairdryer in the room performs well so don’t pack your own. Large bathroom in the room with an extraordinary amount of toiletries and kits eg sewing, shoe shine, dental even a comb and tissues. Beds are comfortable and you sleep to the sound of the waves. Rooms have air conditioning. Must say a Thankyou to Housekeepers as the room was serviced daily and immaculate on arrival The only meals we had were breakfast but the choice was good and food replenished frequently. Although restaurant was busy at times , the staff on duty there kept the breakfast session moving. The Grounds are beautiful and kept clean and no scramble for loungers. We watched Handymen working late at night in the Gardens. A handy gate operated by room key gets you out to the beach. The location is just outside Fuengirola centre but a nice stroll gets you there within 15 minutes along the Promenade. It was our first visit to this hotel but we are so impressed with it have started the booking process with easyJet to return in October … what a gem

When we walked into the reception area we were blown away by how palatial it looked. Friendly reception staff booked us in quickly and we were soon in our room which was a sea view so we could hear the waves lapping onto the beach. I was looking forward to some time in the pool but a warning if you are like me and 5ft 2inches after the last step into the pool my feet couldn’t touch the bottom of the pool, I am not a good swimmer so I stayed out of the pool as I did not feel safe. The food was excellent offering two bars of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free meals, I have never eaten so well. As it was the month of August the hotel was filled with about 95% Spanish visitors, no problem it is in their country and their holiday destination but everything seemed to be geared to the Spanish including entertainment and service. The location is terrible the last hotel on the strip but easy walking distance to the Miramar shopping centre and Bioparc which we visit every year. This end in Fuengirola is not as clean outside the hotel as the more tourist end, we were constantly trying to avoid unpicked up dog mess! I cannot fault the cleanliness of the hotel and the staff were always cleaning some area or another and the whole hotel smelled wonderful. We hired a car for two days which reception were brilliant organising for us as we were desperate to get out and actually go somewhere with people about. The old town of Estepona is a must see so beautiful with a jaw dropping amazing church which totally blew me away.
We usually stay the other end of the resort by boliches beach and we will be returning there next time we visit. If you are of the older demographic as my husband and I this hotel is too isolated and walking far in the heat is exhaustingly! I have tried to make this an honest review but it is only my opinion many people really love this hotel and return time and time again but sadly it is not for us!

We spent 10 days in September/October 2023 at the Hotel IPV Palace & Spa (half board), which is located a little outside of Fuengirola (which is not always an advantage). The conclusion up front: I cannot recommend this hotel.

The room (sea side) was functionally furnished, the bathroom was nice and big with a walk-in shower, and room service was problem-free.

90% of the guests were English, and breakfast and dinner were fully adapted to these guests. You got full, but I will in our canteen too, and when I travel to Andalusia, I naturally hope for a bit of Spanish cuisine, apart from paella. For a 4-star hotel, you can expect a "larger" selection and more clean dishes and cutlery. The fact that the food was mostly lukewarm probably didn't amuse even the English over-65s crowd. Nor was the hesitant replenishment of food (if at all) at the buffet.

The pool area is fine and clean, some of the loungers are a bit worn out and a few more parasols wouldn't hurt.

About the SPA area: The quality of the massage was manageable. If you don't speak Spanish yourself, communication is quite difficult.

About the fitness area: Small and always empty... but just seeing the rust spots on the cross trainer makes you no longer want to go into the room.

About the service staff in the breakfast/dinner area... friendly and doing their job.

About the bars: In the lobby bar there was football (La Liga and Champions League) and also a top pianist who was really great. The staff were less great (exception: a bartender who had the whole bar under control attentively and confidently). Otherwise, the service staff were ignorant... one evening 45 minutes were not enough for someone to come to the table to take an order (we then left after the football without a drink). It was even worse at the beach bar... no one came there several times and we weren't the only ones who were consistently ignored.

The main disadvantage for guests is the fact that you have to walk 20 minutes before you reach the next restaurant outside the hotel complex, so you sometimes stay in the hotel complex.

Well... we verbally communicated the above points on site in the service area. We will no longer be able to check for possible changes, as this was our last visit to this hotel. However, if the ignorance towards customers continues, I have little hope that the situation there will change.

Conclusion: If you like English-oriented cuisine together with over-65 English people and sometimes ignorant staff, the IPV Palace & Spa is the place for you.

This is our second time at this fabulous hotel. The staff are lovely, friendly and welcoming. The weather was a bit disappointing but that didn’t stop us having a great time. We managed to explore the surrounding areas - would recommend Marbella and Benalmedina. We used the local buses which are easy to navigate around on. The long sandy well kept beach at Fuengirola is a great asset - it is around 7K long! One of our favourite walks any time of day. Took advantage of the hotel’s excellent spa facilities on a particularly stormy day - can whole heartedly recommend this if you have time. There are several treatments to choose from, as well as a spa circuit which are all reasonably priced. Thank you to all involved with this hotel - I’m sure we will be back again soon!

We are lucky enough to have visited several times and this hotel literally never disappoints. The hotel is unbelievably spotless, but you very rarely see anyone cleaning, it's like magic! Food is of exceptional quality, especially this time, we always find the food exceptional but on this occasion it was beyond excellent. Loved the addition of the coffee machines with multiple options, and someone to welcome you to your table. We especially loved Raquel on the restaurant front desk who was always smiling, genuine and a pleasure to see every meal time.

Lots of sunbeds, outside is spotless and thoroughly cleaned every day. The rule of no reserving sunbeds is respectfully enforced every day, so all can have a relaxing breakfast with no stampede for sunbeds.

We loved the Michael Jackson tribute show, was very impressive. We rarely watch the entertainment, preferring to listen from the seafront bar, but this was a amazing and we had to watch.

Wonderful Wonderful hotel. Cannot praise this enough. Bravo!!

After being dropped off and left on our own some where near the hotel by airport transfer we were rescued by an elderly Spanish lady who alerted the hotel to our plight, a gentleman from reception came quickly to our aid made check in very smooth, our luggage sent to our room, and so a relaxing winter break began.

Our room was as we had requested in a quiet location, with a sea view. It was quite spacious, large bathroom, with clean towels on request, toiletries replenished daily. Beds very comfortable extra pillows provided. Standard of cleanliness in our room and throughout the hotel of very high standard.

We were on half board basis, breakfast was amazing so much choice, freshly prepared omelettes, hot and cold food from the buffet, delicious fresh bread, croissants, pastries etc.,
Dinner served between two restaurants depending on guest numbers, both offered a varied menu, served quietly and efficiently by friendly staff, and chefs who cooked fish and meat on the grill to order. One thing I particularly enjoyed was crisp white table cloths and napkins so nice to see instead of a plastic table runner and paper napkin some hotels use.

Hotel located in a quiet area of the resort, buses trains are a walk away to connect with but not a real problem.
Swimming pool and area quite extensive, but we didn’t really use it in February although the weather was kind to us.
I found the hotel its amenities and overall staff professionalism and friendliness contributed to a relaxing winter break.
If I had to make a recommendation to management it would be more lights in corridors some were quite dismal, and a reading light in bedrooms it was difficult to read with the lights provided.

Would I return? Oh yes I would I enjoyed my stay very much.

Have had a relaxing week here. The week before we came I e mailed the hotel with a request for a high floor, a wrought iron balcony, a sea view and a particular block. I was given all of these. The rooms are a bit dated, but the beds really comfortable. We only had one pillow each but more were brought upon request. I took my own kettle and the safe was free. There were plenty of toiletries but the soaps were tiny and we just had a small packof hand tissues but the maids gave me more when I asked. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was good. You are not allowed to take any food out of the dining room when you leave. My banana was confiscated.
There were plenty of sun beds but quite a few were broken. The pool area was lovely and all the staff helpful. The walk along the sea to the harbour took 25 minutes walking briskly. It was all well lit up at night. We walked up to the castle next to the hotel. Entrance is free. Taxis into the centre where the Tuesday market is held was 8 euros. We ate mostly in fish ally in the centre. There are loads of restaurants and street entertainment while you eat. The hotel is in a lovely setting and we enjoyed our walk into the town every day.

Just returned home after a short 4 night break and found the hotel met all our expectations comfortably. We booked the bed and breakfast option, preferring to make a night out of things eating elsewhere in the resort. Breakfast was good with more choice than many Spanish hotels I've experienced, plus always hot and some items like eggs, pancakes cooked to order. The pool areas were well maintained and maybe we just hit a quiet time but there were more than half the sun beds available any time of the day.
It is an older, traditional type of Spanish hotel, lots of marble and dark wood around the place, but well maintained and exceptionally clean everywhere.
Very quiet later in the evening, maybe 4 or 5 guests in the lobby bar at 10pm so I don't know how this would suit anyone wanting something a bit livelier.
The hotel location is perfect, right on the beach and promenade, and all staff we met were lovely people who work very hard. to ensure you enjoy your stay.
