Breakfast excellent mix of hot, cold, breads, drinks. Friendly staff.
The spa area is a bit drain smelly so we did not use it (12 Euro entry)
Towels from reception with deposit against room. Room looks to have been refurbished. Nice balcony. Clean.
Overall great value, super location, nice hotel. Would return.

The hotel is well-located just like 20 min away from Málaga airport, transportation apps can be used at a quite reasonable price. The hotel is really a palace with amazing customer service. You can feel they want to provide the best service. The people in the reception, especially the ladies, the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant, Raquel from breakfast buffet.
The hotel is walking distance to Fuengirola just by the beach, but really, you can find everything you need in the hotel: restaurants, Spa, massage, hair salon, a bar, entertainment. In the bar restaurant, I had the best octopus I've ever eaten in my life.
I just loved waking up in the morning and seeing the view of from my room. I was on the fifth floor, so I felt like it was me and the ocean.
I am really impressed with the experience, it was absolutely amazing.
If I were to suggest any point of improvement, it would be beach service. There are some beach beds just in front of the hotel which are not run by the hotel. I did rent one which is fine, but if you want to buy a drink or water, you need to walk back to the hotel. If the hotel had a proper bar by the beach, I would definitely have stayed all day long there consuming and reading a book.
We usually stay the other end of the resort by boliches beach and we will be returning there next time we visit. If you are of the older demographic as my husband and I this hotel is too isolated and walking far in the heat is exhaustingly! I have tried to make this an honest review but it is only my opinion many people really love this hotel and return time and time again but sadly it is not for us!
The room (sea side) was functionally furnished, the bathroom was nice and big with a walk-in shower, and room service was problem-free.
90% of the guests were English, and breakfast and dinner were fully adapted to these guests. You got full, but I will in our canteen too, and when I travel to Andalusia, I naturally hope for a bit of Spanish cuisine, apart from paella. For a 4-star hotel, you can expect a "larger" selection and more clean dishes and cutlery. The fact that the food was mostly lukewarm probably didn't amuse even the English over-65s crowd. Nor was the hesitant replenishment of food (if at all) at the buffet.
The pool area is fine and clean, some of the loungers are a bit worn out and a few more parasols wouldn't hurt.
About the SPA area: The quality of the massage was manageable. If you don't speak Spanish yourself, communication is quite difficult.
About the fitness area: Small and always empty... but just seeing the rust spots on the cross trainer makes you no longer want to go into the room.
About the service staff in the breakfast/dinner area... friendly and doing their job.
About the bars: In the lobby bar there was football (La Liga and Champions League) and also a top pianist who was really great. The staff were less great (exception: a bartender who had the whole bar under control attentively and confidently). Otherwise, the service staff were ignorant... one evening 45 minutes were not enough for someone to come to the table to take an order (we then left after the football without a drink). It was even worse at the beach bar... no one came there several times and we weren't the only ones who were consistently ignored.
The main disadvantage for guests is the fact that you have to walk 20 minutes before you reach the next restaurant outside the hotel complex, so you sometimes stay in the hotel complex.
Well... we verbally communicated the above points on site in the service area. We will no longer be able to check for possible changes, as this was our last visit to this hotel. However, if the ignorance towards customers continues, I have little hope that the situation there will change.
Conclusion: If you like English-oriented cuisine together with over-65 English people and sometimes ignorant staff, the IPV Palace & Spa is the place for you.

Lots of sunbeds, outside is spotless and thoroughly cleaned every day. The rule of no reserving sunbeds is respectfully enforced every day, so all can have a relaxing breakfast with no stampede for sunbeds.
We loved the Michael Jackson tribute show, was very impressive. We rarely watch the entertainment, preferring to listen from the seafront bar, but this was a amazing and we had to watch.
Wonderful Wonderful hotel. Cannot praise this enough. Bravo!!
Our room was as we had requested in a quiet location, with a sea view. It was quite spacious, large bathroom, with clean towels on request, toiletries replenished daily. Beds very comfortable extra pillows provided. Standard of cleanliness in our room and throughout the hotel of very high standard.
We were on half board basis, breakfast was amazing so much choice, freshly prepared omelettes, hot and cold food from the buffet, delicious fresh bread, croissants, pastries etc.,
Dinner served between two restaurants depending on guest numbers, both offered a varied menu, served quietly and efficiently by friendly staff, and chefs who cooked fish and meat on the grill to order. One thing I particularly enjoyed was crisp white table cloths and napkins so nice to see instead of a plastic table runner and paper napkin some hotels use.
Hotel located in a quiet area of the resort, buses trains are a walk away to connect with but not a real problem.
Swimming pool and area quite extensive, but we didn’t really use it in February although the weather was kind to us.
I found the hotel its amenities and overall staff professionalism and friendliness contributed to a relaxing winter break.
If I had to make a recommendation to management it would be more lights in corridors some were quite dismal, and a reading light in bedrooms it was difficult to read with the lights provided.
Would I return? Oh yes I would I enjoyed my stay very much.
There were plenty of sun beds but quite a few were broken. The pool area was lovely and all the staff helpful. The walk along the sea to the harbour took 25 minutes walking briskly. It was all well lit up at night. We walked up to the castle next to the hotel. Entrance is free. Taxis into the centre where the Tuesday market is held was 8 euros. We ate mostly in fish ally in the centre. There are loads of restaurants and street entertainment while you eat. The hotel is in a lovely setting and we enjoyed our walk into the town every day.
It is an older, traditional type of Spanish hotel, lots of marble and dark wood around the place, but well maintained and exceptionally clean everywhere.
Very quiet later in the evening, maybe 4 or 5 guests in the lobby bar at 10pm so I don't know how this would suit anyone wanting something a bit livelier.
The hotel location is perfect, right on the beach and promenade, and all staff we met were lovely people who work very hard. to ensure you enjoy your stay.
