Detailed Reviews
We stayed at Bramble lodge mid September 2021 and had a wonderful time. The hosts, John and Julie were in short; wonderful. We received plenty of information from them before our stay with loads of information with where to eat and things to do. The area itself was outstanding and thankfully the hosts proved to be very knowledgeable about the area and which helped us enormously.
The accommodation was great, well equipped with plenty of things to occupy yourselves with if you’re stuck on a rainy day. The rooms themselves were absolutely impeccable, wifey actually commented that the bathroom was cleaner than she’s ever seen one, the biscuits were replaced every day too, and they were even homemade!!! - yummers.
The online ordering for the breakfasts proved to work really well and was cooked to perfection★ ★ ★ ★ ★
One thing I would suggest during COVID times though would be to definitely book meals well in advance as on some days we struggled to get in where we wanted, the Kings Arms proved to be a reliable fallback with this.
We loved our stay here, John and Julie have done a great job, but in one sense I shouldn’t refer to it as a job: you could see throughout our stay that they actually just love doing what the do in letting you get the most out of your time with them.
Thank you.

Bramble Lodge is well located close to the centre of Blakeney – easy to find and a good place to set up base for a visit to the North Norfolk coast area.
John and Julie have created a very good Bed and Breakfast – very comfortable house, beautifully decorated and fitted out. Our room with its ensuite WC and shower was very spacious and comfortable. Top marks for the breakfast which offers the traditional English breakfast along with an imaginative range of other dishes – including vegan and vegetarian options. We especially enjoyed the sweet potato and spinach hash and cannot speak too highly of the scrambled egg with smoked salmon from the nearby Cley smokery. An excellent start to each day!

Stayed for five nights during September 2020. Like most people, my holiday to the greek islands had been cancelled and was desperate to get away somewhere.
Bramble Lodge was the perfect place to stay, John and Julie were brilliant hosts during these difficult times. They managed the COVID situation really well, asking everyone to wear masks outside our room until we were seated at our breakfast table, only two tables at breakfast and we had to book our slot and our breakfast choices the previous evening.
The breakfast choice was really good, the food was sourced locally where possible, excellent and it certainly set us up for the day.
Blakeney is well situated for coastal walks and we were blessed with a couple of really glorious days for our walk to Cley and another from Wells to Blakeney, although we only got as far as Stiffkey on the return! Thankfully, there is a brilliant bus service that runs along the coast and we were able to catch the last one!
I would advise you to book any local restaurants as we did have a problem booking on two of our nights in Blakeney, obviously due to social distancing tables being necessary. However, the restaurants we did find were really good, one at Morston, White Horse in Blakeney and the pub in Langham, all excellent.
The garden is available to use for an end of the afternoon drink before going out to dinner.
I would definitely recommend Bramble Lodge, they managed the Covid situation really well and John even has his own micro-brewery. The heavens opened on our last day so we used the breakfast room to play games at the table in the afternoon and John kindly gave us a tasting of his brew!
I didn't really want to give this place a glowing report as I don't want it to become too popular that I won't be able to get in again!!!

Like most people, going abroad wasn’t a realistic option in the current situation, so it was a case of finding a suitable place to visit in the UK.
I spent my childhood visiting the Norfolk coast and have many happy memories, and given that it was closer than some other destinations, it seemed an obvious choice. Next to find somewhere to stay.
Fortunately, Bramble Lodge had been recommended to us by some friends and what a treat it turned out to be!
Upon arrival we were met by the owners John and Julie, donning masks and running us through the rules for social distancing during our stay, it was handled in a very relaxed and professional way so as to put you at ease.
The accommodation consists of 3 guest rooms in the main house as well as a self-contained annex, adjoined to the house with its own access, comprising of a lounge, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and private patio area. The guests staying in the main house also have the use of the garden to the rear of the property, this was well stocked and beautifully kept and in full bloom (at the time of writing) . The property has been recently renovated to a very high standard and is very tastefully decorated, a far cry from the décor of guest houses in the 70s. Breakfast must be ordered the night before from a link on the Bramble Lodge homepage, offering a good selection of fruit, cereals or a good old fry up, as well as some specialty alternatives, all of which used good quality local produce and was well presented and tasted amazing.
Prior to our visit they emailed us a list of local pubs, restaurants and activities which we were advised to book, something that I’m very glad we did, as places are limited and fill up quickly.
The seal trip is excellent and a must see, as well as a walk along the RSPB’s Titchwell Marsh, a trip to ‘The Wash’ and a visit to any one of the many magnificent beaches. There is also a local steam train running between local towns / villages, currently offering a reduced service, where you can see the magnificent engineering of yesteryear, namely the famous GWR engine. We ate at the Bluebell (Langham) and Blakeney House, both excellent, the latter especially nice for a special celebration, offering a fine dining experience in a spacious and beautifully furnished restaurant, or weather permitting, outside in the picturesque grounds of the house.
Overall, my wife and I had an excellent visit, the area is fantastic offering something for all tastes.
John and Julie were the consummate hosts, we would warmly recommend Bramble Lodge and have already booked a return visit.

Bramble Lodge was lovely. Hosts, John and Julie were really welcoming and quickly put us at ease given the lockdown situation. Newly renovated, we stayed in Curlew (rooms named after birds), which had everything we needed together with a really comfortable bed.
Minimising risk, a lot was done online, including ordering breakfast. Very easy and a very nice breakfast too. So much so, no real need for lunch!
We love Blakeney, and this park of Norfolk. Having a great, friendly b&b only means we are likely to go more often.

Newly decorated, spotlessly clean. Comfy beds, modern bathrooms
Really friendly and knowledgable hosts- walking routes, running routes, food recommendations, bird knowledge....
Great selection of breakfast options with good quality local produce. All the care and attention you could ask for if you needed it.
Impeccable management of Covid restrictions which made me feel as safe as possible given the current pandemic. Will definitely be back!

We were greeted on our arrival. Our room was tastefully decorated, the bed was so very comfortable. The are choices of breakfast, we varied our choices so we could sample everything and each meal was done to perfection. The owners John and Julie are lovely and perfect hosts. The house is tastefully decorated and furnished. It is on the edge of the village a 2 minute walk to shops and waters edge restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, yet a quiet retreat. We can not wait to return again. Beautiful.

Amazingly friendly and helpful people. John and Julie couldn't do enough to make us comfortable and help us enjoy our break in North Norfolk. The food was superb, the rooms are excellent; modern, clean, well appointed, comfy beds, spotless bathrooms. The location is a few mins walk to the quay with loads of parking out front. Why would you stay anywhere else in Blakeney!? Five star great value!

Recently stayed here for 4 nights, very well run and extremely clean B&B. Room was lovely (curlew) and breakfast was a good choice with a great online booking option. This B&B is very well positioned with good parking and a very easy 5 minute walk into the centre of Blakeney. We were well looked after and will certainly look to return again.

Thanks to John and Julie for a very enjoyable stay and all your help and advice on the local area. We stayed in Avocet which is very comfortable ensuite room with a nice outlook over the back garden. The decor of the room is modern and we slept well. Breakfast is varied and delicious and the pre-order process is simple and efficient. There is off road parking at the front of the property. The coast hopper bus stops near their gate and the B&B is an ideal base to explore the area. The pubs and restaurants of Blakeney are an easy 5-10 min walk.
Would definitely stay again.
