Situated in the Heart of North Berwick, The County Hotel is a fantastic place to stay when visiting the area. With its 10 bedrooms it is large enough to accomodate groups but small enough to maintain it's friendly traditional seaside hotel style atmosphere. We think you will love it here as many of our guests return. The locals also frequent the bar and restaurant areas contributing to the hotels friendly atmosphere.

Rooms are basic, beds and mattresses rather old, a bit cramped but it reflects the price. Clean and tidy. No restaurant or food available. No breakfast. Bar tired and not the place to enjoy a drink. If all you are after is a place to sleep then fine, just.

For £69 without breakfast, this centrally located pub plus was OK. It was clean but the rooms were not what you would call classy. We had the Lock Lomand room on the second floor. I don't know if we hit lucky but it was quiet. There was hot water and a bit of weak WiFi.The shower was good. The beds were squeaky and the mattress springs were lumpy but the bedding was clean. The TV was the size of an IPad high up on the wall - take your long sight glasses- where do you buy such small sets? There is free parking at the back which is quite handy in this busy little town. The staff were pleasant.

We booked 2 twin rooms on the top floor and rooms are cosy with a very small shower which was nearly always cold.Great location in the high street but needs money spending to upgrade the rooms and facilities.Had one evening meal which wasn't great and one breakfast which was poor so we decided to eat out the 2 other mornings.Could be great with some TLC but not in its present condition and sadly won't be returning. Will give 3 stars purely for the location

We stayed in the “ Prestwick Room” on the 6th June 18 and enjoyed having cold showers (absolutely no hot water) no Wi Fi, and squeaky, lumpy old single beds that surely were 1950 vintage.
The room was tiny to the point that ensuite door could only open half way before hitting the bed.
“Felt like we were in an episode of “Fawlty Towers””
We have emailed the manager-Tony Breathnach a number of times raising our complaints but he refuses to respond.
We have never had such an unpleasant time in an hotel across the world whereby management simply don’t care.
Do your self a favour and sleep in the car!

Were there today with Irish friends
We won't be back. Service not too good. Apparently the till order to the kitchen wasn't working. Scampi and chips were awful. Not hard to go wrong there. Garlic and naan bread were awful. Spaghetti bolognese was runny and not pleasant. I decided not to have the gammon steak I had
ordered 45 minutes previously. Give it a miss
