My family and I have been visiting Port Isaac/Port Gaverne every year for the last 10 years and this pub/hotel has changed considerably. There was a time when you could sit at the bar and chat with a fisherman or even a Fisherman's Friend but it appears that the locals have voted with their feet. The new landlords have invested...

Lovely quaint hotel, but suitable for dogs and walkers. Far too many dogs, can not get to the small bar as dogs laying all over the floor! We went for a Christmas break and felt disappointed with it. The first room we had was lovely and big, but the view was a white brick wall about a foot away from...

After reading the reviews I telephoned the hotel to book a sea view room (number six, very steep second flight of stairs). The staff were very helpful, the hotel is in a very quiet cove and did not disappoint, food excellent, we had the largest lobster we've even eaten, caught that day, the room was clean and tidy

My husband booked a weekend away as a surprise. The hotel did not disappoint, it is a hidden gem in a lovely picturesque cove. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and nothing is too much trouble for them. The room was very nicely decorated, clean and fresh and included things we had forgotten to bring with us. Lots of...

This is a wonderful English pub with so much charm and history. Lovely sea spot 5 mins walk from Port Issac, the home of Doc Martin tv show. Take the walks tour with John. Book at the nut shop. Wonderful information. The Port Gaverne restaurant and hotel accomodation is lovely, but the restaurant is amazing,,, wonderful cook and staff.

This hotel has been one of my favourite hotels I've stayed in in my 6 weeks travelling the uk. Great view and great atmosphere. The lady behind the bar was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms must have been recently refurbished as they seemed very new , clean and well layed out. The food was amazing although the dining room is...

Stayed here for my wife's birthday. Wanted to get away from it all ( yes even from St.ives) so picked here as never visited Port Isaac/ Gaverne. The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk to Port Isaac which intails a walk up a rather steep hill. Not a problem for us but elderly visitors, mums with buggies may...

We definitely CANNOT recommend this hotel and following our experience over our two night stay for our 20th wedding anniversary. (Room 20). Be aware that the car park is in another street and you need to walk through a path between houses to reach the hotel and once in the hotel the stairs are very small, so very difficult with...
