Took this place purely on face value as we could sit outside with our dogs as well on what was a lovely day. Obviously the menu appealed to us, we had jacket potatoes with a few sides and fillings of course. Service was good and friendly, food was great and really hit the spot with no short measures on the...

Needed an overnight stay as attending a friend's party in the town. The hotel was excellent value for money. Obviously don't go expecting the Ritz but if you need a warm, friendly, typically English Hotel/Pub this is great. Welcomed by the bar staff and shown to our room which was large and neatly furnished with plenty of decent tea, coffee...

The pub itself is very nice, but the service very slow. The staff are very friendly. But the room- Oh dear!! Shabby, mismatched furniture, dirty carpet. The window was part opened- it neither opened any further nor closed. It's November. I would like to have been able to close it. The toilet did not flush- it was too late at...

Only passing through but I really enjoyed a night's stay here. Convenient town centre location with easy car parking, staff friendly and genuinely helpful, room was a decent size, and cost very reasonable. Had a perfectly OK evening pub meal with some well kept St Austell ale (although shame no Proper Job because it's my favourite). Quite early start meant...

Needing an overnight stay in the area we booked not realising that it was carnival night! We had a brilliant view of the whole carnival from our window which was great. However the celebrations went on into the early hours below us which did not make for a restful night! The accommodation was basic and a little tired but had...

Stayed here for 1 night while in the area for business. Lets start with the pisitives. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Shower was powerful, bed was comfortable, tv had all the freeview chanels, thats about it. The negatives, room had been cleaned but is so dated, stains on carpet, bathroom floor covered in ground in dirt, boiling...

Have had a few meals in here recently and find the staff to be really friendly and the food was lovely, honest pub grub at an affordable price. Granted the menu is very limited right now but after further investigation I discovered they are opening a new restaurant upstairs with a brand new menu so they offer specials and a...

This is traditional pub and hotel accommodation. We stayed for 2 nights as part of a larger group. This hotel is slap bang in the middle of town. Stayed in a second/top floor room facing Molesworth Street, which is pedestrian only so is the quieter side of the hotel. Our room was a standard double, very spacious, quite recently decorated,...

We have been here a few times before but this time was a massive disappointment. There was 60% of the menu crossed off and the pace was empty, probably because of the poor menu. My steak meal arrived and the mushrooms were obviously old and chewy and rubbery. My battered onion rings were not battered, they had tried but looks...

We called into the Swan several times for a drink during our holiday, but decided to try one of their meals. There was a limited menu (they were advertising for more staff so are perhaps in between chefs?!?) - the food was ok - I'm not sure I would have visited again for food. The staff were friendly and helpful.
