The location of this hotel is fantastic; right in the heart of Padstow with the bonus of a car park (quite a few steep steps down to hotel but not a problem for us). We stayed in a Premier Room (9, at the front of the building) with a view over the quay (over and in between the roof tops)... More

Having visiting Padstow for decades, The Ship is always a firm favourite to visit. Friendly staff, great 'better than average' pub food and outside covered seating so you can watch the world go about their day. My last visit was at the end of the holiday season, so I did expect some dishes to be off the menu for seasonal... More

We had a great dinner of Pork Loin and Chilli Beef...with all the trimmings. The food was fantastic, the service was great and the staff were friendly and very approachable. We will certainly eat there again when we come back to Padstow.

WE dived in to the Old Ship after covering almost every square inch of the heart of Padstow. I sank a pint of Windjammer, my wife a glass of cider. And they both went down a treat one late November afternoon as the sun dipped over this stunning old port and a wintry wind scoured the harbour. The barman was... More

A long afternoon of fishing and crabbing by the harbour is nicely rewarded with a good Pilsner lager pint. Dog friendly and a nice area outside for seating when all you need is that little pitstop. A true pub feel inside and out with friendly customers, maybe a smile from the barman may help a little though!

We stopped off here after a long coast path walk. Lovely atmosphere, great menu but a very grumpy bar man who was short and to the point and no smiles! The roast we had was amazing, the rest of the staff were friendly and polite and we didn't let the grumpy one ruin our visit. I'd recommend the food, but... More

We ordered the seafood platter, but to be honest were quite disappointed. It sounded really good Whole plaice, battered fish, prawn, king prawn, anchovies, calamari with chilli, garlic bread and salad. We were starving and ordered a couple of portions of chips. To be fair, the size of the platter was huge, the plaice was nice, very fresh, king prawns... More

Our last night in Cornwall. Padstow was the closest place with places to eat with the dogs allowed in. We chose The Old Ship Hotel. We'd been for coffee earlier in the week and checked out the menu then. It looked interesting and varied. So return we did. My wife had one of the specials, baked plaice and risotto. I... More
