We had previously visited 2 weeks ago on a Saturday evening and enjoyed it so much we decided to visit for lunch with the children. The setting is stunning and on a sunny afternoon we made the most of exploring the kitchen garden and playing croquet on the lawn. We had a selection of snacks including Hock Eggs, crackling with...

We already knew Combe House before it morphed into a "Pig". It was a splendid, well run, comfortable, superbly located country house hotel. As a "Pig", it remains all of those despite being revamped and is well worthy of taking its place within this excellent brand. We have been fortunate to have visited and/or stayed at all the establishments in...

We had lunch here. The setting is amazing, as it has always been and some of the improvements are good as the old hotel was tired but even so had a delightful charm. There were some lovely touches especially the locally sourced food. The staff were excellent and exhibited their training in H and S procedures during a fire alarm....

We had lunch there this week in the Folly building food was good, small portions so not cheap. The outside tables are a tad small and the service initally slow then they brought the main course whilst we we were still eating the starters. Trying hard but still some work to do. I check out the feedback on TripAdviser re...

I live in the locality and know Combe well, in fact when it was a private house. My first impressions of the newly revamped Combe was that it is vibrant. For the old timers the bar in the main hall is a bit of a shock, but I think all told it is good. The staff are excellent, we viewed...

It's so difficult to review a hotel that has changed so much . The Combe House was a high quality very special place to eat, maybe a little stuffy, no doubt a little in the past but a unique place of high standards in this part of Devon, it wasn't cheap and maybe that's why it's changed And now we...

Another absolute gem for the Pig franchise and the newest addition to the chain of Pig hotels. Having already stayed at the Pig near Bath and loved it so much we were worried that the newest Pig might not live up to our high expectations but it did not disappoint. We were lucky to get a comfy luxe room in...

Had dinner last here week and my party and I were looking forward to it given the reviews. The food was rather good, but the sharing beef dish was served on a cold plate and the food and sauces were somewhat underseasoned. However, the taster dishes and garden dishes were very good indeed. The shabby chic glassware and condiments on...

Incredible place, peaceful and beautiful. Had dinner and enjoyed it very much. Food was excellent and good quality. Would visit again if possible. Driving to the place though is rather difficult and should be careful.

Had a fantastic weekend at this latest pig. A step up in scale from the others to date, stunning setting in its own grounds. Service welcoming, friendly and efficient. Enter by the side of the impressive bar area. Room in main house comfortable and spacious. Stable yard area looks even better. Seating area on main lawn to side of house...
